Great to see you representing my beautiful islands. If you ever did try Shark & bake or Crab and dumpling, you will never look back. We have triples too, dem soh niiiiiiice LOL! xxx
Yes, I think you should make some Trini dishes. Doubles is super easy to make. Btw, chadon beni is also known as culantro, so you should easily find it in the UK. Woi oii
Outside of London, the Asian supermarkets online are the only place you’re going to find fresh shado beni unless you buy from MyTriniShop or eBay when it’s in stock. Vietnamese use it and call it ngo gai or it’s also called Mexican coriander or long coriander but people in shops get confused and try to give you coriander!
Awee thats whats up yummy doubles..much love..one love..respect.spreading love and light thru such delicious delights.all praise the High King.much love.. one love..my my heart loves Jamacia however the beautiful lovely people of Trinidad and their food stands alone in its own right indeed..mmmm yummy..nom nom nom.
Great video. This bought back memories. My nan lived in Barbados for many years she spent a lot of time in Trinidad and Tobago she was always talking about it. I spent a month with her in Barbados in 1977 The food was amazing. Lots of fish and fruit. 👍
Big up yourself love see into Caribbean food white man you can cook no disrespect love programme you bad still big big yourself one love hope one day meet you❤❤❤🙏
Great video featuring TnT food. Doubles is the Trini street food as Patties are to JA. Doubles cause you can't eat just one. Curry goat and Dhalpuree Roti is my favorite. Big up cook and vibe.
Got to educate you a bit broski. Guyana, where I was born, and Trinidad, where I grew up have predominantly East Indian populations. So the food is influenced by my ancestors from india. Alot of the other islands have predominantly black populations so the food is influenced by the African dishes they ate as slaves back in the day. It’s pretty deep. My lot were indentured workers, we got paid and given houses to come work for the British when slavery was abolished. But anything curry based from the Caribbean is probably originally East Indian. I love Caribbean food. Best food in the world because it actually fills you up and tastes so so good. Peace ✌🏽
Yes this is what I have learnt it’s very interesting how the Indian influence is there ! Big yes lovely food and vibes make sure you watch today’s episode 6pm we cooking doubles ! Mango chutney! Curry chicken ! Buss up shot & more !
Chadon Beni (Culantro) bless up m dot r and family, keep the vids uploading bro, much respect for all the hard work that goes into them, those doubles look niiiice!! like to see those cooked up so i can mek some! some mad cooking vids from around the country would be good now you have transport, like cooking on the riverbank? on the canal towpath while fishing? what about a floating kitchen and dingy,s in the middle of a lake lol, u always welcome in the black country (stourbridge). muss iffa mek a trip and link up sometime mi brudda.
big up yourself mdot going to trini i met some amazing people and life long friends i am mixed Jamaican and Irish but with an Indian heritage and ive never thought i would fit in so well in trini, it honestly felt like a home away from home, ive never felt so welcome in England because people are uneducated abut how people can be from where they are from and around every corner i was challenged about your not Jamaican, your not Irish because im not black enough or white enough to be either but its not about colour its all about culture and acceptance. big love for the video i hope you visit trini because for me on a journey for my mum with personal reasons to visit it was absolutely different (in a good way) and we met some amazing people who showed us the island living not no dibby dibby tourist ting we got showed the real trini and WOW. if you go ive got the best link who become a life time friend/brother/family who will show you whats what in trini. i know you could probably sort something out but i think cordell will give you the real trini experience like he gave us. also was a pleasure meeting you at carnival this year big up yourself and nuff love x
M Dot you're onto to something different once your eat you'll be hooked 😆 Grenada 🇬🇩 is right behind Trinidad with some tasty food. Next time try the fried bake hot with cheddar cheese. Soon you'll probably hear about Oil Down Grenadians National dish...gotta come Grenada to try it up in Country✌🏾
Buss up shut is a different type of roti to the one with the meat inside, it’s more like paratha with a large amount of butter in it instead of split peas making it flaky and pastry like
My 2 cents. M.R you I like, your vibe/what you stand for is admirable, you love Caribbean culture and you live it. Respect! The one thing I would say would make this video more appealing, is a bit more substance. Have 2 examples for you. 1. The Indian influence on Jamaican /Trinidad food why does it have an influence? Where did it come from? When? ect. 2. The lady behind the counter sounded like she was happy to tell you about her food from her culture, I would have loved to have heard more from her, even if she doesn't want her face on the video, what insight could she have given us apart from the ingredients? It's easy to criticise and much harder to do, but with a bit of fine tuning I can't see why you can't carve out a much bigger niche than you already have.
@@mdotrcookandvibe Thai,Vietnam, Cambodia and Mexico use this herb in their food. Most of the shadow beni comes from Thailand. You should be able to get it in one of those shops. The trinishop also has green seasoning and shadow beni chutney which might be an alternative.

Trinidad food is the greatest and one of the tastiest food on this planet earth, forget about the rest of the Caribbean Islands like Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana, they don't even come close, they are a distant afterthought. Trinidad for the best tasting food ever and also a lot of varieties.
You need to start cooking and vibing some different cuisines . Try to remember that the majority of your audience are not from an Jamaican/Caribbean background. So yea switch up the program and start trying different food (Chinese,Indian ect ect ) no pork ting lol. Enough love ,always support 💯
Trini food is way tastier than Jamaican food and Trinidad has way way more variety to choose from....Shadon beni...is Culantro...it is the cousin of Cilantro..and has exactly the same flavour...just Cilantro is slightly milder....if using Cilantro in trini food just use more..Best Trini food in london is The Roti Jupa in Shepherd's bush...And remember 50% of Trinidadians are Indians...And from my experience you can only get or buy the tastiest doubles from Trini Indians...Roti Jupa in Shepherd's bush are run by Trini Indians....and it is the best doubles you will ever taste
Okkk very interesting comment , I new there was a lot of Indian people in Trinidad but didn’t realise 50% and thank you for the information about Shadon Beni ! I wouldn’t take anything away from Jamaican food but Trinidad definitely has a big range of different interesting tasty food which definitely stands on its own ! I mean Caribbean people can cook and Indian people can COOK !! So put them together it’s a good look !
