AFRICAN TIGRESS, YOUR KENYAN SISTER
You’re doing a great job in my home country. Even though I grew up in Trinidad, I’ve never been to
Moruga . I’m learning a lot, and when I come home, I will definitely visit. Continue to have fun, be safe and God bless you. Thank you.
Same here never been to Moruga. Shameful for me lol
your country in trinidad?
I love Trinidad
Video and audio quality is great 🎉🎉
Hi Tigress, Happy New Year.
Happy New Year Mozart
I love Trinidad & Tobago. Greating from Suriname!
Thank you.
Blessings from Trinidad & Tobago
I love your country as well.
We love you also...
You did such a great job capturing it all. Your guide was so knowledgeable.
I am enjoying your posts from your time in Trinidad and Tobago immensely! Happy New Year, African Tigress and everyone!🙏🏾
Lovely glimpse of South Trinidad 🇹🇹
Happy New Year from Trinidad to the world, and continue to enjoy the sights of our beautiful country.❤❤❤
The body of water that lies to the front of where you are standing, and upon which you are gazing, is known as The Columbus Channel.
Beyond this body of water lies The South-American land mass - Specifically, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana; and further southwards - the nation of Brazil.
To the South-West of where you stand lie the Trinidadian villages of Cedros and Icacos.....And in that vicinity you shall encounter The Serpent's Mouth, from which, just seven miles further West, lies The Venezuelan Mainland.
The two land-masses - (Both Venezuela and Trinidad) were once connected by means of a land-strait, which has long since been considerably diminished, but not completely eliminated, by virtue of erosion.
Trinidad therefore, although it is an island of The Caribbean, technically and in reality, forms part of The South-American Continental Shelf.
Finally, to the east of where you stand lies The Atlantic Ocean; and its direct trajectory takes one precisely to the western shores of The African Continent.
It is this body of water that from the time of the very last portion of the 15th century, and through the 16th, the 17th, the 18th and the 19th centuries, was commonly referred to as "The Middle Passage", and it was heavily traversed during the colonial era, by slave-ships, in order to arrive at and to deposit African enslaved peoples at many of the shorelines that at that time, according to the then colonial powers, constituted "The New-World".
I love the vibe, it's so chill. Your guide is the best I've seen so far. He knows how give a tour. What's the Instagram handle for his tour company?.
I see you are learning some Trinidad words.😀
Yes 😁
Trinis are so friendly I can tell, beautiful relaxed place good for vacation 😍❤️❤️
Yes we are. Thank you.
Blessings to you.
There is a lot of crime there which videos are hiding.
@@kmacm6529 You’re welcome 😍❤️
@@Accuface2000 There is crime worldwide. Look at the positivity. I observed several of your comments are negative.
@@kmacm6529he’s probably a unc supporter, in their opinion the country is in shambles all the way through with no positive aspects. Such is the politically minded, they see everything in partisanism.
The place is so nice.
The indigenous people of Trinidad, although globally acknowledged as one of many groups of Ab-Originals; that have historically dotted the global landscape, are of a distinct ethnic identity from the Australian Aboriginies.
The indigenous people of Trinidad are Indians - (The Caribs and The Arawaks, also known as The Tainos and The Kalinagos, and The Warao, who originally were and are still primarily of The South-American Mainland), and they are all more closely affiliated, ethnically, with the multiplicity of Indigenous Indians that have historically populated The Americas - (Canada, The United-States of America, Central-America, South-America and The West-Indies/The Caribbean).
I'm from Grenada 🇬🇩 my sister from Trinidad our mom is Grenadian thank you for showing this side of Trinidad 🇹🇹 🙏🏽🌞💙
I love that you are showing the parts people dont see or go to, rather than the typical places. I don't even think I've been to Moruga. I may have as a child, but I don't remember. But I don’t think I've been that far south.
Please don't hide the ghetto slums and crime jungle where the majority lives🤣 You are just showing us the Asian/White neighbourhoods. Where are the black hoods at?
Tigress I see you are learning our words well 😅🇹🇹🇺🇸
I'm here under a duvet in the UK feeling jealous of the good weather.
Correction: "Africans did not come to the Caribbean" They were enslaved and brought here.
According to historians there were Contacts between Africa and the Amerikas long before Columbus, they were Trading with each other, they were there long before Columbus. Columbus Reported that he saw Africans there. They Never Ruined the Land or Exploited the people. Columbus with his greed for Gold and other riches Laid the way for a real Raid and run of the Amerikas and the caribbean...
Not all came as slaves. Trinidad also had an enslaved class of Africans and free class of Africans
@@rosemariegray-olabiran7991But they all started off as slaves once they landed there.
@@vicferrmat4492 they all did not come as slaves. My family in particular were free Africans
@@rosemariegray-olabiran7991 Which year was that? Do you have any proof?
The high fences are not because of crime. Fences make good neighbours and they are boundary markers. I am 71 yrs old and since before I was born people, especially in the city when one owned a property, part of making the property nice was to put up a fancy concrete front fence and gate and if you could afford it you would surround the whole property with a concrete fence. If you can't the sides and back will be wire fence.
Leave work early, hang out and lime and get paid for the whole day.
Moruga is the home of Moruga Hill Rice, a dryland variety of rice that was indigenous to Africa and a strain of a different species from the more widespread Asian species of rice.
It was once a widespread crop in the US and was brought here by African Americans (mostly slaves) who had served with the British against the US during the War of 1812 and were resettled by the Brits in numbered Company villages that corresponded with the military Companies they served with

This village looks clean!
Big up to the people of Trinidad , we have a lot to learn from you in Africa!
The whole of Trinidad is clean if you get caught littering $1000
They are just hiding the slums. Trinidad is owned by strict Asians who don't tolerate disorder. On their own the Trinis are just ghetto like Haitans

Nice village I’ve never been to moruga 🇹🇹🇺🇸
Nice and interesting video. But the Amerindians do not look like Australian Aboriginies. Their features are quite different. The Amerindians look more like brown skin Chinese people with straight black hair. They were the indigenous people of the Americas which includes the countries/islands of the New/Western world. North, South and Central America.
No. Amerindians did not look like brown skinned Chinese at all. Amerindians were a wide range of color, from the light skinned Arawaks to the black skinned Caribs. Arawaks and Caribs were wiped out but enough survived the onslaught of the European diseases, murder by Europeans and overwork on the slave plantations. African slaves were brought to the Americas to replace them. As there were intermarriages between Amerindians and African slaves, in the blood/faces of many African Trinidadians today are the blood of indigenous Caribs and Arawaks, but mainly the Caribs.
The Amerindians were not the indigenous people of the Caribbean. There existence in the Ameridianss do not go back beyond 4000 BC while the existence of africoid people in the Americas go back to more than 100 thousand years . Check the images of the bonampak murals in Mexico and also the Olmec heads. There wer many black tribes all throughout the Americas when Columbus got there; Columbus himself attested to this in his journals where he saw black men in Haiti. The history of the Americas and foundational and the central role that blacks played in it prior to European "discovery" is deliberately falsefied and hidden. Read 'They Came before columbus' by Ivan Van Sertima and'The First Americans were Africans 'by Dr David Imhotep. He also did a RUclips presentation with the same name. Also some bones were discovered in a cave in Brazil dating to over 26'000 years....an english forensic scientist reconstructed the skulls and they were to be unquestionably found to be "African ' or black.
The@@whz366
@@whz366 Yes, I agree they have different complexions, but they have Chinese features. I think their ancestry originated from Mongolia which travelled by sea and came into new lands. Complexion varied to the kind of climate. Look at the Eskimos and Innuits they look exactly like Chinese or Mongolians and they are fair in complexion. The Amerindians and American Indians are of the same racial composition. But culture and complexion varies.
@@StephanieWade-tc9wb Absolutely not. None of our indigenous ancestors had Chinese features throughout the Caribbean, central America and South America.
Well ....African Tigress!!!! I am a Trini and must have only visited Moruga once or twice in my life. And I am from Sando eh, ( San Fernando) Thanks for highlighting all of this! Wonderful !!! Enjoyed every minute and your guide , Colin was excellent!❤❤❤🎉 Thank you so much.😊
I'm from San Fernando, never been to Moruga.
That's because Trinis are poor with the exception of Asians and British who live in wealthy suburbs. You earn peanuts and work for Asians.
Great job showcasing this village. You are right many of us locals have never been to Moruga. Please keep up the fantastic work.
true, because I have never been to Moruga
Yep. I am from Trinidad, living in Atlanta and never been to Moruga.

Thank you African Tigress😊
Columbus.....I can say a lot about that guy, but Not nice things. He came as a Scout then went back to europe and came back with an Army and caused only destruction.
He also liked little boys
Although I am from Trinidad, I have only gone down south four times, including to Point Fortin and the Pitch Lake. You have done better than me. Thanks for the tour. I really enjoyed how the villagers live. The government need to fix the roads there. With all that pitch, we should not have potholes in our roads. You are learning the Trini language.😂😂
Find out if the famous Trini Scorpion pepper has a Moruga connection?
Yes, it was developed there.
Yes
Love it. I am learning about places I will never visit.
African Tigress: Love your content/adventures! You are vigorous at liming there in Trinidad!? Love it! Keep on living & loving it up from Kenya!😊❤

Grand Chemin is just one of the many lovely villages which make up Moruga. The village of Basseterre is also very peaceful and friendly. I was back there a few days ago. The Roman Catholic church you saw is one of the prettiest that I have ever seen in T&T so I hope you got to go inside. Hope you entire visit in T&T has been wonderful so far and remember to always stay safe because nowhere in the world is perfect.
Happy new year Lyn ! I visited Moruga in the late 1990s the first time I visited Trinidad on a community health exchange. I enjoyed the tight knit neighborhood and peacefulness.

Awesome vlog. So happy you continue to enjoy your visit. Blessings and stay safe🎉❤
Great content AT but please inform Mark that there are no private beaches in Trinidad and Tobago(He should know better).
Really? How about North T'dad? Is it true that their beach is "off limits" to other "Trinis"?
I wonder!
Again no beach in Trinidad is private but some take advantage of the lapse law enforcement..According to Section 3 of the State Land Law, the lands of the seashore lying between high water mark and low water mark belong to and are vested in the State.
you must go to Tobago on this trip absolutely
Beautiful…Thank you 😊
