You engineer a situation where your type green needs to have his forcefeild down for a mundane reason. You then get 6 snipers trained on there head to each fire off a shot the second the sheild goes down. You'll of choose have to find a way to test that without them knowing of course. Oh and you'll likely only get 1 chance.
99.9% of type greens aren't powerful enough to exhibit a constant affect on their environment. At least an effect strong enough to act like a shield. Type greens powerful enough to protect themselves to that level, for that long are gods. And thats the type of god you send Clef in to kill, as he has a host of implants that allow him to just walk through type greens, if not ignore their reality bending effects for a time. If the reality warper was that cautious they would have sent Clef, or an MTF in already. afaik the foundation only tries assassinating a type green once before sending in the MTF's because assassinating type greens really only work once before they permanently adapt to make it almost impossible to do so again. but again. at least 99% of type greens in the SCP universe don't have sufficient power to protect themselves from say a .308 or a surprise attack. the 1% that do are essentially gods, and the foundation or GOC was never going to try to shoot them in the head with a sniper to begin with. Assassinating type greens is only to prevent the 99% type green's from aping out and wildly warping reality lashing out at whatever tried to kill them.
For the record, the examples which were made around the time of Clef's seminar out-universe (e.g. the attempted assassination of SCP-239 and the successful termination of SCP-531-D) were all made in the early years of the SCP Foundation website, back when Author Avatars, MTF Omega-13 and the 'Decommissioning' class was a thing. Nowadays, all of the above are no longer popular and more sensible writing (and the creation of the Scranton Reality Anchors) has allowed for the proper containment of reality benders. Personal favourites are SCP-2599 and SCP-3480. Edit: Yes, I know that the latter does involve killing reality benders. It is just that these ones are very often insane and very powerful reality benders. But otherwise, they can be contained like any humanoid anomaly via SRAs, and some were even put to use by the Foundation itself.
@@anonymousmind8402 No, not necessarily. A lot of popular tales and SCPs from more later SCP, such as series 3 and 4 both explore the termination of Reality Benders, namely the Lombradi tales which in “gasps for reality” says that most Reality Benders are terminated on sight by both GOC and Foundation however the passive ones are often negotiated with, which either go missing to never return or willingly get contained. To add also “Scranton Reality Anchors” is not good writing or a sensible way to deal with Reality Benders in and out of universe, namely out of universe because they become overused like Telekill in Series 1 which could also contain Reality Benders and other anomalies however was really hated by majority of the community at the time due to its overuse and in universe reason for its discontinuation was explored by authors, most popular being that telekill expands and is too expensive.
It's just normally, he only uses his reality bending to suppress other sources of reality bending. This though was him getting in some jollies by making some agents empty their bowels
Him being a reality bender is certainly a viable interpretation, but I generally find the idea of him being a reality sink/anchor is a lot more compelling. The Clef's suicide note article in particular really sold me on the idea

@@Master_E444 Yeah I think reality benders powers are part the persons will and part base instinct. If a reality bender wanted to commit suicide then in my mind their subconscious powers will take over and prevent that.

@@foxman105 Depending on the canon you choose to believe in, Clef being a reality anchor is due to implants in his body allowing him to normalize and ignore reality distortions/collapsing to a limited degree. In one tale he basically walked through a basically collapsed SCP reality for a full day before his implants began to fail/be unable to fully keep his perception together. Clef being a reality anchor due to willpower was some old age clef tales shit. But more modern clef tales tell that he has implants that allow him to ignore low level reality warpers and mind game them into nullifying or reducing the effectiveness of their own powers. @@thefallencog fair enough. I'm not really up to date on recent or semi-recent changes of scp universe. From what I remember Clef was a reality bender that worked as a GOC bounty hunter that later defected to SCP foundation.

A rather apt nickname, if you ask me. Red from OverlySarcasticProductions on Mary Sues describe them as beings which warp narratives and thus reality so it centres around them. Here, this can be taken quite literally.
@@thecoolnerdcolress1738 There is a big difference between character development and a character that is just good at everything and makes every other character useless. Try to learn it.
Right we get it, one is a “Mary Sue” and the other isn’t. There's something to the Foundation's conclusion that feels a bit off to me. Let's say I turn into a Type Green overnight. Things start small, like my wishing some extra change in my pockets when I really need that extra cup of joe at work, and maybe life throws a few curveballs that lead to my expanding on my abilities over a few years. The entire lore that surrounds Greens suggests that placid types are rare and that you eventually reach a point where just conjuring a lavish lifestyle for yourself doesn't cut it. You apparently blow a gasket and go Ubermensch, before some specifically trained MTF blows your brains out. Even *if* I could get away with whatever I'd want to do, I think I'd keep things simple. I think most others would, too. I don't want to be perceived as a threat, and I don't want to be so removed from people that I can't nurture friendships or relationships, either. I'd keep things on the down-low, maybe afford myself a really basic level of personal and financial stability, and then just stop there. I'd maybe save a few lives if I can, but I don't see how having that kind of power automatically translates to my thinking I know what's best for others. That poses an interesting avenue: how many Type Greens does the Foundation let walk around? How many are victims of bad judgment calls or of some operative not reading a situation carefully enough or understanding what might've led to a display of power? We already know most of the files in the Foundation are unreliable sources of data - all those redactions and expunged addenda - so what's keeping them from applying extreme levels of prejudice, from effectively being dead wrong, in many cases? I mean, if I knew someone who knew someone with an ear with the O5 council, I'd tweak incident reports to nudge task forces in the right directions - specifically in directions that benefit me, my head-of-state or even my bottom line...
Tbh I always assumed the Foundation only really learns about the more overt anomalies because they make themselves known. I imagine in universe there are a ton of scps no one really knows about because they lie low and don't hurt anyone.
Oh and of course in the case of Reality Benders that means that they would only see the sociopathic ones. Humble rbs would just not register so that would have an affect on orgs perceptions of rbs in general.
I imagine it's bit like being a child star. You have everything in the world, people love you for the wrong reasons, and you can get away with anything. The people that grow up with it are probably screwed, the people that don't have a robust moral framework are probably screwed, which leaves a very small portion of people that could handle the power well.
Here's the thing. I'd like to THINK that, given godlike powers to change the world on a whim, most people would try to use it with restraint and respect. But I think we all know that wouldn't happen. No saying about human nature is more true than "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." I can say that I wouldn't abuse that kind of power, but I know deep down that I 100% would eventually, and so would the vast majority of people who say they wouldn't. I'm also a horrible pessimist.
I call bullshit on you. You would become a megalomaniac, it's just a question of "When?" You'd stary off small, sure, but why would you NOT stop Covid-19? Are you just going to let people die? Then maybe you realize, hey, China is literally throwing Muslims in death camps in order to exterminate their culture... I could stop that. Hey, I could free North Korea from a totalitarian regime. Hey, I can Thanos snap all rapists and murderers in existence (oops, no more D-Class). Hey, I didn't like that guy who was made President last election. Hey, Governments are FULL of corruption, eliminate all the corrupt politicians...
The 2nd part is true quality writing. I remember reading this one years ago, and it still crosses my mind all the time imagining the people cowering in fear as he destroys everything around them.

They are surprisingly weak when compared to some other SCP's. There are some, like the other guy mentioned, that can just cause the destruction of the entire universe just by existing.
It depends on how powerful the reality bender is. For example, SCP-239 may have nigh-unlimited power, but it is all limited to line-of-sight. Meanwhile, SCP-2599 is similarly powerful (to the point of almost killing SCP-682 for good), but she can never complete any task, including mundane ones, for unexplained reasons. And that is not even getting into Hume Levels and how regions of extremely high levels can effectively nullify a reality-bender's power.
Even by the GOC, who lead the whole kill all threats concept have a category above type Greens in the Ex Machina entitied, which are basicallly defined as "reality benders but instead of bending reality they redefine what reality is permanently". Usually the foundation does drop all these entitied under the "relaity bender" category tho.
Fun fact, some greens murdered by the foundation have self revived.. When killed physically there is a chance their consiousness will literally inhabit the 4th dimention. Creating a split in the timeline where they didnt die. And then manifest into that reality.
This would honestly make a great movie from the point of view of the Reality bender guy as he studies and then later abuses his powers only to be chased down and hunted the an unknown organization (The foundation obviously) , he might even meet other SCPs to spice things up

@@Prodigi50 as reference material
The food in the back was completely normal, clef is definitely a reality bender.
@@IapitusMcHeimer except for the fact Clef is infamous for lying and it's implied afterwards that the suicide failed due to not finding his body. @@Master_E444 Yeah I think reality benders powers are part the persons will and part base instinct. If a reality bender wanted to commit suicide then in my mind their subconscious powers will take over and prevent that.
@@camerondiflo3828 either way there's no true proof one way or the other asside from the lack of a body supporting the immortal side since even Reality Benders die if they chew a gun.
You would become a megalomaniac, it's just a question of "When?"
You'd stary off small, sure, but why would you NOT stop Covid-19? Are you just going to let people die? Then maybe you realize, hey, China is literally throwing Muslims in death camps in order to exterminate their culture... I could stop that. Hey, I could free North Korea from a totalitarian regime. Hey, I can Thanos snap all rapists and murderers in existence (oops, no more D-Class). Hey, I didn't like that guy who was made President last election. Hey, Governments are FULL of corruption, eliminate all the corrupt politicians...

Facts~
Reality Benders are probably the most powerful type of scps
