I fkn love you Dan. These songs move with your parts. M. Greiner is one of the best drummers in the genre, but even his parts don’t seem to carry an ABR song the way they did in the Messengers, Constellations, and Leveler era of that band. There’s so much extra stuff - and the drumming is impressive - but sometimes it’s subtracting from the song. You lay the perfect backbone with active drums and the most excellent feel for this metalcore style. It doesn’t overpower the song. It breathes when it needs to. And the best part if every Polaris song is a drum section. You are one of my favorites, and definitely one of the best song-writing drummers in metal. Again, fkn love you

I do have to respectfully disagree with you on one thing though haha - whether it's old stuff, new stuff or anything in between, Greiner for me will always be tasteful as well as an innovator and boundary-pusher! Daniel, as a drummer myself, your technique and your overall playing and mindset has helped me become more open in how my drumming style. It took me awhile to play Polaris songs because of all the cool extra things you add into your songs.
I have to say, Adam Gray was an inspiration to me at one point but now you have surpassed him and are my #1.
You're very underrated and deserve more recognition for your talent and style!

Do you use an in ear metronome or other cue spots from vocals, guitars etc.
We're all on in-ear monitors with a personal mix we can control for ourselves. Everyone has the click track and then a blend of whatever they need to hear. For me, the click has to be loud and clear but I also have a pretty full band mix with a bit of everything mixed in there, so i can lock in with the rhythm section, hear all the detail i need in my drums, and generally just feel the band around me and enjoy what's going on!
