The Squier sounds undeniably better, my problem with Affinitys is that they are affordable but they are not the most affordable. They are already at a price range were you can get something better for not an awful lot more money. The price of an Affinity is more than halfway the price of a Classic Vibe, which is nicer. If you're looking for cheap, you might as well just go cheaper. If you want something nicer, you might as well save just a little bit more. Also, HB has the TE-62 which has better pickups than the Te-20, strings through the body, and a nicer neck, and it's still more affordable than the Affinity. Probably a more fair comparison since the TE-20 is like the Harley Benton version of a Squier Bullet or Sonic.
You can buy 3 of the HB for the price of the Squier, and still have enough change for a new set of strings. So with that extra $180, get a set of reallly nice pickups.
Well ... I'm in a weird position. I recently bought a HB TE-20BK. I already had a Squier Telecaster (1989, so not Affinity series). The HB bridge pickup was shorted out. A replacement pickup was found and installed. My friend restrung it, renutted it (mind out of the gutter, you!!!!) and did a lovely set-up for me. The feel of it now, as well as the sound, surpasses the same qualities of the Squier. That is not to say the Squier is bad: had the thing since 1992, and it has been a great guitar. But - FSM alone knows why (and it's not splitting!) - I play like a better guitarist on this guitar than I see myself as! In this situation, I could not state a preference.
I love how the $89 HB TE 20 (when played on clean) almost sounds like a piezo-acoustic guitar. Bought this one on a deal occasion for $50 😂 + now no need for an acoustic sim pedal like a BOSS AC3 (which saved me another $150)
l got me a HN TE 20 used for $50 😂 to practice (and not to be afraid to drop it, bump it etc. - I'm motionally challenged) 😂 for the price difference, I'd rather buy a better amp where the minor sound difference ain't to be heard anymore, since the most sound quality comes from the amp, not the pickups, not the strings and not the wood.
PLEASE start to put in your reviews the noise of the guitar, the noise that they produce, cause sometimes is not about sound, one can sound better but with fret buzz or annoying "noise floor" can be bad. You help a lot of people showing affordable gear, but i think this could be nice to include in your reviews, fret buzz and noise. The video is nice!!!
У гитары от Харли Бентон просто будто бы частот меньше, а так они одинаковы в чистом звуке. Зато на Гейне, Овердрайве Харли Бентон звучит плотнее и в целом лучше скваера
Squier costs twice as much so...... Also almost ALL guitars have bad setup when shipping. And you "forgot" to add the effected test for the HB.... interesting, isn't it?

Where?
Well, not 3 but 2 for sure with spare money left.
@@yeoldefoxeh254 it was three that day, but inflation…
I just got the same Squier for $250 new. How cheap is the Harley Benton?
@@qua7771 at the time of the video the Squier was $299 and the HB was $79. Or close to it, it’s been 10mos.

I think the Squier sounds better.
Squier sounds better , bit the both are good to upgrade
Thanks for your review + intel
I would opt for the squire 🎸🧘
When you use "high gain" which coil selector option do you use?
Squier sounds better overall. But they also have different fretboards that sound different in themselves

Great video, thanks!
The Harley Benton is muddy. Maybe some pickup
adjustments would help.
Go for the HB TE-52 which is much better than the Squier and still cheaper. Problem solved.

Thanks for your feedback :) I will work on that in new videos for sure!!
Fret buzz = bad setup and/or bad technique.
Squier hands down! much better quality also...the benton even with better pickups...is not worth it...imho...
