I feel the same way. I started art as a kid and went to art school to become a Graphic Designer. Being a designer can be very rewarding and allow you enough opportunities to support your artistic passion. Graphic Design is a love hate relationship however I like both art and design. Graphic Design change my art skills in many ways where I’m constantly learning process, techniques and creative awareness. Having your own art studio is very helpful and satisfying. Keep up the good work👍

I'm really glad to have found your channel, I am also currently a senior at art school and it's comforting to hear someone else is having the same struggles. I feel like I just barely was adjusted to college and then the pandemic happened and I feel like it really impacted my personal growth as well as my art. I still feel like a sophomore in art school rather than a soon to be graduate and its scary ;_; I really love your videos, they bring some normalcy to this crazy time we live in and it's great to draw along to

hi there sunny! i'm currently a illustration freshman at parsons and i really related with your story :) oddly enough, i felt the same way that you did when you mentioned the 'weird urgency' that you felt with screenpritning suddenly. For me, it was ceramics. This week, oddly enough, I felt like I had so much I wanted to create with ceramics but at the same time, I felt like I was rushing and wasn't really putting enough patience and care into building the pieces... i really hope out that things work out for you!! stay warm and I think you'll definitely enjoy doing grad school in London hehe :)

I love this, can you make a video on how you got all the grants and scholarship to afford art schools? I've never moved out of state because it was to expensive, SVA was one of my top schools and I could not afford it, so I went community college instead
I am 100 percent on art for my future but the only problem is convincing my family that it would provide a stable job and make them forget the stereotypical poor street people after graduating lol could you maybe make a video on how to convince family like in it maybe give us some ideas on how to tell them how it works and what it really means cuz I'm super stuck jsdvhk
ohhh i remember that feeling. my mom has always been pretty supportive, but she did try to persuade me out of it when i was accepting school offers (she wanted me to go to a reg uni and major in something that can get me a 9-5 job and maybe minor in art). i think the best convincing is taking action! draw every day, make art every day, improve and grow, they'll see your dedication. also apply for scholarships and enter into contests, try to sell your work. all of that shows that you are doing everything u can to pursue art and hopefully they can see that too.
Same, I can completely relate to this comment however my problem is I think being able to go to college. My parents know I love art and are pretty supportive about it, but I think if I went to college, I’d need a scholarship since academically, I’m not great, which worries me a lot and am anxious about it. It scares me to know what I want to do with my life and possibly not being able to pursue it

So far i have done commissions to the point it seems like a "real job" i also joined a contest and won 2 in the whole country yet i feel like anything i do always comws back to the "it's not the same in the real world" argument ejxkej (btw I'm not trying to brag omg eldjebdk I'm just feeling like all my efforts end no where) I also finished a whole mini story for a manga and I'm drawing every second of the day since i was 5. I feel like they are just worried that no matter what every artist is left under the dirt try to make ends meet and while that's true for some its not for others and it's not only art it's every field Are there some things I can tell them to maybe assure them that art is something I can live off of and enjoy?

I am a currently a junior in high school and feel like it's too late to come up with a portfolio. I have a similar journey as you such as always having an eye for art that adults have been pointing out since I was young. Yet, I struggle to draw without reference or inspiration. What do you think?
i struggle with tht too, but teachers say good writers write about what they know. and i think that goes for art too. if youve experienced or saw, or felt strongly about something, those can be inspirations
