The piano is such a good instrument. It can take vocals of a song turn it instrumental and you can still understand the lyrics

Piano is such a great instrument, which can create harmony which creats unimagineable atmosphere but If you understand some instruments that create natural pitch bends and ornaments like Sitar, the melody brings so deep into emortions.. So it depends basically on three main things that you are in touch most: Melody/Harmony/Rhythm.
Any melodic instrument can do this. What's happening here isn't unique to the piano. In the original song, the lyrics were sung on a melody. A melody is the sequence of notes in a song. The piano here is then playing the melody of "Believer" (along with other parts of its arrangement with harmonization and decorations etc.), and because you know the melody & lyrics already, hearing the melody on the piano without the lyrics reminds you of the lyrics!
You can do it with other instruments too, like 'fingerpicking' on Guitar. But on the piano, one finger do one note, so the possibility is a lot bigger. My favorite instrument is the Piano, but you can't ignore other instruments. And I mean, it's not for nothing that the piano is ALWAYS the main instrument when you have it in a orchestra like here. It's a leader

Aw thanks. 😊 To answer, no I'm on sabbatical right now, take a break, getting inspiration, refueling my creativity. Will hopefully write new music in 2020.

As a piano player I hate it when ppl throw their hands in the air after they play a not on the piano it’s just so annoying cause it’s literally not necessary😂
Sorry, to be fair, on the reverse side, it's equally boring to watch a pianist who sits like a robot with no performance flair. Just saying. For me, being immersed in the music also becomes like a dance for my hands, and they go up and flair often! 😉

why you didnt make a singer do the melody?
Well, it was always meant to focus on the song as an instrumental version, with the choir as effect - as I'm a pianist (and I wrote the arrangement to focus on the piano). But if I do perform this ever again live with symphony and choir, I think I'll have the choir singing melody more towards the end.

While I do respect the original poster's opinion/question and your graceful reply, I LOVE the focus of the arrangement on the piano and how you integrated the choir. If you do ever perform this again live, leave as is (my humble but picky opinion). :-) Very, very well done.

Yes actually lol. Please understand I am a pianist and I arranged this piece to feature the piano on melody, hence why I am up front as the soloist. Choir can be a color and not the feature.
