@@stephenmacleod8524 Oh yes...that is right. I knew I was off just a bit. Such a cool nickname! I am watching Colin's newest episode right now. They definitely chose well! Very impressive how you were able to help them with the work on the boat. My greatest concern right now about going out to sail full time is managing the maintenance on my boat on my own. I am sure your chance to join the crew was as life impacting as mine. I am looking forward to giving someone else that opportunity as I pass it forward one day. Cheers!

For many reasons - I was delayed in watching until today. What an episode! Loved it. What is especially remarkable has been reading through the comments. It's amazing how many comments were about the Hamilton! It sounds like a ship at the center of a special universe. SO MANY folks who had either served on the Hamilton themselves - or had relatives who had done so. And so many Coast Guard members - both presently and veterans. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE!

What an excellent pick for the crew. I look forward to seeing how the coasties do. My father was a 28-year career Coast Guard officer. He graduated from the USCG Academy and served in three wars. Mini Coop, my father was the CO of the cutter Hamilton out of Boston in the early 1970s. He took her to Vietnam. He was also based in KW in the 1960s as CO of the cutter Diligent. Not a whole lot of square groupers back then. Just Castro and the Soviet Union. I am so looking forward to seeing you and the Wynns sail together. We love Nikki and Jason. Please look out for them. But they really fight the war on drugs which is continuous vs other branches of military have a "Declaration of War." I like your new crew members also, they seem like very fun people to have around and they are learning fast by the looks of it. Jason and Nikki, you both are so happy when you are back on the water and sailing, you have perma grins on your face and are so relaxed and at home out there on the water. You make it look easy but from your previous adventures I know it isn't always like that. I hope all the repairs hold up now and that most, if not all, of the initial problems with your beautiful new boat are history at this point. Have fun out there, I'll look for you again next week. I liked the free water segment. On a boat there is such a thing as free. The only thing is rain. Whenever we would get into some rain we would break out a mop or a rag and clean clean clean. One of the areas that we always had trouble with were the windows. The drains were frequently plugged so keeping them clear was a big part of rain cleaning. Modern boats are so much better at everything than they were 50 plus years ago when I was transporting boats for clients. It was a great opportunity to learn an incredible amount about being prepared for all conditions. My dad was a master on that subject.
    Kindest Regards, Your Pal Al

FWIW, i read that when you set the fishing line, it shouldn't be too far from the boat. The fish are attracted to the bubbles from the wake, they think its a bait ball [not sure which fish was asked to confirm that] , so have the lure just a little bit past it.
Some sport fishing boats now have hulls with built in air 'vents' in the hull - they pump air out of the holes to create a bubble bath, so to speak! and great vid as always

Excuse us for our language , we are French sailors on an old Outremer 42, perhaps not enough fluent. You speak very fast for our understanding and we use 0,75% language speed…😂. That time you sail on a true catamaran, not with a wooden horse… I agree this type of sailing life. You are true. Your crew have a very interesting life, we respect coast guards. I saved this to watch on my big screen - I just can’t comment that way. Lovely to see you both back on water again, and having interesting crew. We had some very knowledgeable Coast Guard visitors a few years ago to Dublin. And as I get closer to retirement, seeing people who have dedicated their work lives to public service is really interesting - as well as the reality of sailing with the boat more on track with design ideals. I’m looking forward to seeing your future adventures this season as the boat really becomes home and transport in one. (Still having my own, on land, adventure - but I need to challenge myself just a bit more!).

Another excellent video (great editing!!!) and what a great crew to add to the boat. Love it! My wife is DYING to know where Mel got her hat. She loves wearing hats like that, but hasn’t found one with a hole for a ponytail!

You see? Military people are just like regular people!
My cacao comes from Peru! A heaping spoonful blended into a 20 oz of whole organic milk is absolutely low-carb heaven. :)

I grew up in tbe showow of the Hull MA lifesaving station that is by all accounts the OG goastgoard station in Hull MA well before the formation of the actual USCG. Im now a rescue diver who works closely withb Station Burlington here in VT. Yes we have a USCG station on Lake Champlain and yes it is a HIGHLY competitive station for only the most hard core sas dogs. Lol. Thank you for your service Coops!

Thanks for this video. Throughout our modest cuising experiences we have had nothing but positive experiences with the Coast Guard. We certainly feel better knowing they are out there.

Stray current measuring devices would be nice to provide as standard equipment from all boat builders looking to minimize warranty work.

What a great couple to have on board!
Question; So when where and how do all the rest of the things get fixed from warranty.
You had a positive farrago of experiences on board?
Glad to see Kevin helping to plan for the next day's sail.
    So Mel is the cook?
    And you got dolphinized today.
    And a flutter of schmetterling.
All in one day, you can;t beat that!
    Un abbracio forte a tutti!

It will be interesting to see what your Coast Guard crew teaches you about being on the water.
