I have fond memories of singing the tenor part.
Being instructed by our choirmaster, at the end of the Gloria to "engage maximum beauty" always makes me chuckle.
    He was right too

This is still part of Lincoln Cathedral's Evensong repertoire (writing in 2023).
The choir is performing this tomorrow, Tuesday 25 April 2023.

I would be fascinated to know the reason(s) for anyone 'disliking' these superb recordings. A fact that is of absolutely no interest to anyone other than me, but TT Noble passed away one month and two days after my arrival into this troubled world. Beautiful, sensitive singing from the Guildford choir, as always. Thanks for uploading! Regards, Peter A :) :) :)

You're welcome. And, by the way, some people just like to hate things. It takes all sorts...

Listening to this right now; this is rather like Stanford! THIS one deserves to be better known than it is! Seems to be ahead of its time too! I'm about to press the "Like" button again!

Noble in B minor used to be standard repertoire in English cathedrals and probably still is. You might be interested in this video from ARCM: ruclips.net/video/Id-k0yDau7o/видео.html

Happily it is in the repertoire of Wye Parish Church (Kent). I particularly like the change of musical moods. For a tenor the end of the Gloria, a lovely soaring line, is particularly rewarding, (and you get to sing it twice).
