Great thoughts and input on the hobbies! It’s always good to do a little self inspection on things , an wellness check on ourselves! Fantastic carry man, freaking love that 35 with ox blood covers!!

To piggyback off big J’s comment, I too have been married for a Long time, we support each other and our hobbies and we are raising 4 children, youngest 12 oldest almost 17. And I totally agree, and I believe social media drives everyone’s FOMO or desire to acquire, we want “most” of this stuff just so we can show it off… I’m guilty too. My wife asked me once when I was telling her about a knife I wanted, she said do you really want that or are you just trying to scratch the itch? And in a lot of cases I’m just buying to be buying and to have something new to POST. Recently as I talked about in a recent video, I have stopped buying collection filler and have narrowed my focus to older vintage knives and stag covers. That way I’m buying more quality stuff. Also I’m not buying much these days, doing way more trading which is a blast, especially if you have some good trade partners. Anyway , totally agree with you, priorities must be set and followed and everyone will be a little different, but always family first

Absolutely buddy, I’ve seen some of your tribe online and I’m really happy to see it for you man.
That’s definitely a good way to keep in your interests and still have control over your life and money too. That’s where I’m at just trading and being real picky with what I’m after.
Anyway I appreciate you dropping by and chatting dude. Keep on keeping on!

Great video!! I've been with my wife since i was 19, we raised 2 men together. The only thing i know is that i had a handful of deer rifles/shotguns and a handful of knives up till i was in my 40's. My family, work, and coaching youth was pretty much my priorities until our youngest was a Sr in high school (he had a great plan and has since followed it and started his career). Since then I have pushed my collection but figured i had put in the time/work to do so. I'm blessed that my wife supports me in my hobby and I support hers in these later years.

Thank you sir. You know exactly the right balance then! It takes a lot to juggle life but I am sure happy I have my better half in this thing with me. Wouldn’t be who I am without her.
      Appreciate you J

Great discussion, brother! It is so important keeping a healthy balance of life and hobby, making sure to have your priorities straight. That deathbed analogy is a great way to put it in perspective. Sweet carry! That GEC is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

I know what you mean, I have always been into motorcycles, guns, hunting but never collected knives but always liked and had them. I even thought collecting was silly. I dropped motorcycles because of the risk and now I’m apparently a knife collector and can’t believe how much I have spent on it!🙄😂 I have not disclosed that to my wife but we are in a place where it’s not impacting our finances. I also expect to dial it back some but just ran across some old stock and pretty good deals.

I totally agree I am the same I have backed off on buying anything and everything. There comes a time when you do have to evaluate wether or not it's really beneficial to have 300 knives when I could be doing so much more. Really appreciate the talk brother

Good points. I have had those moments myself brother. Women sometimes don’t understand how we’re “wired” but I have found that learning moderation can be a big help, might be difficult, but stepping away when you see it may be affecting a relationship is key, in fact it shouldn’t get to that point in the first place, but it does. Thanks for this time out talk brother. You are wise beyond your years my friend. God bless.

Dang man thank you for all that. Yeah it’s a miscommunication but knowing each others boundary’s well and keeping in moderation will pay dividends years later and only keep things stronger together.
Appreciate you dropping by to listen! Means a lot. Be good man 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Amazing video brother! Taking a break from RUclips has definitely helped ground myself to the things that really matter! I got so caught up in trying buy the coolest gear to put on the channel with no substance. Trying to set my priorities and goals for where I want to go with my channel! I’m not quitting RUclips, I’m just trying to find a better, healthier, and more beneficial way to do it! Keep up the great work brother! I’m proud of you!

Thank you my dude, yeah it’s necessary to take a step back sometimes for sure and it’s almost always beneficial. It’s easy to tap yourself out creatively and definitely financially in the edc community.

Hey buddy, I wanted to say thank you for this video. I’ve been pretty heavy into case and GEC knives the past year, and honestly I think I’m going overboard. Everyday I’ll look at FB or EBay to see what’s new and although over time I’ve gotten good deals, but my spending habits are not healthy. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m going to downsize my collection and look what’s around me instead of in front of me. I really needed to hear this from someone, thanks and have a good one.

Hey friend, I appreciate you hanging with me here a minute and listening to what I said. I wish you all the strength and courage to break that habit. Just never lose sight of what’s important and meaningful in your life. I’m happy to hear it resonated with you.
