I lived in Kuwait from 1991 to 1998 , the worst country when it comes to migrant workers - it’s a shame . It’s 49 dead when I checked last and numerous in hospital in various stages , had these to be all Kuwait nationals , the country would shut down , had these to be western nationals the world would be shaking with diplomats flying in and out of Kuwait- it’s business as usual I can bet in Kuwait because these are poor migrants - some international organization must step in , sue and shame Kuwait so that this never happens again and every family of the dead and injured get a strong compensation, sadly this will not change the fact that lives are lost but will at lease not let the lost souls die in vain.

You are right. Kuwait is not an Expat friendly country. The authorities keep increasing the fines, left, right and center. Imagine paying a fine, for junping a trafic light, even by accident could make you pay KD 50 or even KD 100 fine, with the threat of your licence being taken away or your car impounded and you cannot even defend yourself. They say, Expats are crowding the roads, with their cars! Drive on a Saturday and see how empty the roads are, as it's a holiday for government employees, who are mostly Kuwaitis.

@@carmelacaruso452 there are laws in place in Kuwait , regarding wages , health and safety , the government if it was strict making sure laws are followed by this would have been everted - people break laws , so we have law enforcement- but who cares in Kuwait for the poor migrants . Have you lived in kuwait if yes then thank God you had a good life and did not live in the migrant camps .
