When they were backing the car into my carport the metal from the lift gouged my driveway even though I yelled at the guy to stop. When he got out he said "oh I didn't hear you". Then the boss on duty was like " ya that happens all the time, we aren't liable for that". They never even paid half.

I’m so sorry that u had to go through that I’m glad u survive through that mate I hope u are back up and running but d2 for a hole day nah fam that like not having kids for a day mate
I work as a project manager for a construction company. The contractor completing the work is 100% responsible for breaking your optical line. The responsibility falls on the contractor (sprinkler guys), they put in an 811 ticket at which point the responsibility falls on the utility/marking company to properly mark out your optical line. In no situation would the client having work done be responsible. You can call 811 and file a claim, if they're too slow go up the chain of the sprinkler company and talk to the manager of the snotty manager you dealt with and threaten legal action if it comes to that. I've dealt with this issue myself on the contractor side of things and it always comes back to bite the responsible party in the ass (not you under any circumstance). Hopefully Sweat will see this and can fight for this money, it's not a fun process by any means.
I see a lot of things like this as a locator for 811, lots of contractors try and blame the homeowners however it's actually who ever is doing the digging that needs to have a locate request, even if sweat called an 811 ticket the contractor would still be responsible due to the ticket not being theirs
I don’t have a job and I still don’t have the slightest clue on anything that has to do with payment to be honest but I get how bad this is. I feel like a lot of either immature people or younger people would make fun of this because it’s only a single day without Internet but being scammed like that sucks. They should’ve asked if you’ve called to have your things marked and if not then they could’ve delayed it until you did get it marked and none of this would’ve happened.
I understand this pain, tree fell and took out the internet, then when everything was cleaned up our isp would come fix it for 2 weeks. It's a rough time without
It is worth checking the law in Texas for who's responsibility it is to call 811. In most states, the person performing the work is required to make the call and have lines identified. For example, the owner is not responsible for it, the contractor is. But Texas being Texas, they may require you as the home owner to be the one to make the call because of how lobbying works.

Legit happened to my friend a few days ago. I don't get those people man.
@@FadedMaple07 how fked in the head do you have to be to do that like what
@@DavDav2233_ Ikr, like what the fuck was the motive? At least breaking into someone's house and stealing benefits the thief (I don't condone stealing). There's literally no benefit in cutting some random person's optic cable.
This is my favorite Sweatcicle video
You sir are the REAL K I N G to survive whitout the internet. I wouldnt even live an hour.
I’m in another country where cellular data is nearly non existent and will be like that for about a month, (not my choice), so unless I have Wi-Fi I’m watching choppy, laggy videos in 144p, and my phone says I have 4 bars for cellular data. Even in the United States it says I have full bars but is still horrible. Don’t get tricked by T-Mobiles phone deals, or their buy 1 get 1 free deals, because they are still most definitely the worst internet provider in existence, and I can say that without hesitation and confidence.
Meanwhile my internet does this whenever it pleases
i had to do 3 days b4 it sucked but man glad you made it through my guy
it amazes me how people haven't yet gotten used to the idea that cables could be somewhere in the ground where they are digging. they break it every time too smh.
Horrible news. So sad this happened to you. Stay strong my brother!
1940 mans worst day: getting drafted into World War | 2022 mans worst day: No internet
My dude sweat, little Texan tip, if your sprinkler system ain’t working just buy one of the ones that attaches to a hose (if you have an outside hose nozzle)
Not even the Iron Lords could suffer these kinds of Dark Ages.
My dad used to do cable work. I'm not sure about how it works in Texas but everywhere my dad worked it was us that had to call 811 to get everything marked and located. This contractor is definitely up to some shady nonsense.
I got a tow recently when my alternator died and they didn't use a flatbed tow they used one that suspends only the top half of the vehicle. When they were backing the car into my carport the metal from the lift gouged my driveway even though I yelled at the guy to stop. When he got out he said "oh I didn't hear you". Then the boss on duty was like " ya that happens all the time, we aren't liable for that". They never even paid half.
Yeah its fully illegal to dig ANYWHERE without a dig permit for this reason exactly
Bigger achievement than day 1 last wish, sorry you had to go through it
Ur so strong sweat. Idk how you survived this horrible crime against human rights.
Your misery amused me. Take my like, I shall share this with many many people and ask them to leave their comments as well
What a tragedy, I'm sorry you had to go through such a traumatic experience
1:24 Damn
I hoped that you reported that sprinkler company to whoever needs to know, telling you that you needed to get a map in advance while they just dug without a care sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen.
I’m so sorry that u had to go through that I’m glad u survive through that mate I hope u are back up and running but d2 for a hole day nah fam that like not having kids for a day mate
like 2 years ago we lost power for 2 weeks in the middle of the summer. 2 of the worst weeks of my life
I work as a project manager for a construction company. Hopefully Sweat will see this and can fight for this money, it's not a fun process by any means.
sits here being without internet for 3 weeks now since cable companies exist
Bro the sprinkler company and the technician/repair guy are in cahoots, they hit me last week with the same scheme
It's a rough time without
Bro I laughed soooooooo fucking hard if this is not the text book definition of 1st world problems LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you dont go for grass, the grass comes to you.
Definitely lucky to still be alive glad your still here 🙏🙏
But to both yours and their credit from me working in residential and commercial irrigation for 6 years he's not wrong about 811 makings their not liable for...
That's about how 90% of irrigation companies run here in Indiana at least but it is also the company's responsibility to call 811 and make sure markings are made before any digging not the home owners for your exact comment about gas and electrical lines ...
Could be different there 🤷♂️ but I know I cost our company a good chunk of money my first year not having patience to wait for locates to come by 😬🤷♂️🤣🤣
Our terms of service protect us from the repercussions of accidentally fucking your shit up fam
My whole weekend off from work was ruined because my internet was being trashed lmao
Yea I did that for 6 months and after a while it wasn’t that bad but now looking back I enjoyed the time but still a gamer at heart
as someone that used to have to dig up lawns to lay down water pipe, the company 100000% has to call 811 before they dig, its not up to you its on them. I would sue
Imagine this happens on Raid day instead of a random weekday tho.
