Tbh, I forgot about Ashley's contemporary. Don't get me wrong it was brilliant but the only dances I remember clearly from 2018 were Faye's jazz & charleston routines. I've re-watched them countless times
Everyone made such a big deal about how Kevin had been in loads of finals and never won (until last year) but Giovanni basically had the same luck but everyone forgets. He's nearly been in the final every year(except once I believe with Laura Whitmore) he's been on the show and never won. Personally I think him and Faye were robbed last year.
It's all about "the journey" and if you look at it like that, Faye and Giovanni had no real journey because she was great from start to finish. 3 years ago, dame story for Danny and Oti. 2017 same for Alexandra and Gorka OR Debbie and Giovanni... You know they were never gonna win because they were too good from the start...

The difference for me between Kevin and Gio is, that Gio always got pretty good dancers but they just never made it. Kevin's partners on the other hand have been very hit or miss. He had couple of very great dancers, but he also had some pretty bad ones (Susan, Anneka). But despite their dances always been kinda low rated from the judges, he even managed to get to Blackpool with Susan. Also Stacey had a lot of potential which she didn't show at first but Kevin helped her unveil all of it. Giovanni on the other hand has yet to prove how he would do with a partner that doesn't dance nearly as good as all of his previous ones. He never really had a "stick" so far... Or someone who has loads of potential but struggles at first.
i personally think georgia and giovannis charleston should have been number 1, the only reason marks salsa was unforgettable was because of the microphone issue.
Giovanni is undoubtedly a fantastic and flashy choreographer but I'm appalled that he took half the list when there are so many more that needed to make that list. Mark and Karen's Argentine tango, Jill Halfpenny's jive, Caroline Flack's Charleston, CHRIS AND OLA'S CHARLESTON, Kevin and Stacey's Doctor Who piece....... and there are so many more I'm drawing a blank. I'd say Giovanni's Jazz dance was the only one worthy of being on this list. The rest I forgot about tbh. Oh and maybe his Halloween piece this year with Michelle.

Davood and Nadiyas American Smooth. That's one routine I certainly will never forget!! Danny and Otis Samba. Really the ONLY Samba ever I totally enjoyed. Also, while I don't really like the dance, the Argentine Tango from Joe and Katya has been pretty awesome too. Apart from that, I think you should defineteley split the list up between Couple's Choice/Showdance and the other dances as I think you can't really compare any of those to the traditional Ballroom/Latin dances.
What about dannys and oti's argentenian tango.....that was brilliant even though judges didnt like it for some very lame reason.....to aggressive I think they said which was bs.

Guys the Charleston was not 2004 cos it was 2017 when Shirley joined . What happened to Karina jive this year it was a amazing also kelvin and Otis first dance.
The onscreen graphics keeps saying 2004 re the year Strictly started - but why not tell us which years these sequences took place which I imagine would be of more importance!
i think all we saw from ashley’s contemporary was how she had dance training before:/ like you can’t deny it is incredible but some of them moves you genuinely cannot learn in around 3 days... and everyone knew she had training in dance like contemporary before strictly.
Kristen-Elaine Harris She was really amazing but she did have some struggles in the beginning adapting to Latin and ballroom. Her frame in the Viennese Waltz and Tango wasn’t good but by her Foxtrot she had improved it. Plus, she didn’t have straight legs all throughout her Cha-Cha-Cha and she didn’t have the proper hip-rotation the first time she did Salsa. It’s different techniques from contemporary so she probably had to unlearn some things she was used to doing in The Pussycat Dolls.
Like them all, except #10. There were at least a dozen better performances. Where are Rachel-Vincent or Natalie-Artem, to name just the most glaring omissions?
I need to know if Michelle had dance training before. That will not be fair to the others. She had a slip of the tongue when she said she is used to dance her dance tonight in a faster or slower way. That did not sound kosher to me.
Giovanni and Oti are by far the best choreographers on this show. So good
