Oti is just queen of the samba ... hers and Kelvin Fletchers was impressive for a first week
alyssa bennett, and Oti's and Danny's Cha Cha Cha was impressive for the first week - or for any week, really. Clearly Oti should have been at least a Two-Time winner on Strictly already. And her work in The Greatest Dancer finals both last year and this one AND the fact that she's in the Guinness Book of World Records AND that she won an award for choreography on a Musical prove that Oti is a genius and a force of nature.

Dominic Wileman he said that he barely scraped through that degree and trust me musical theatre dancing is not even nearly similar to Latin and ballroom. There is no super specific technique and it’s not that hard.

zahinster he did not have a massive head start. Louise has wayyyyy more dance experience than him. Musical theatre dancing is nothing special and clearly he wasn’t that good at it so that just goes to show that Oti is an amazing teacher

Danny & Oti’s Samba should have single-handedly won them that glitterball. That’s not even considering the rest of their dances.
Oti and Dannys American smooth is one of my favorites.

I agree hands down with Danny & Oti's Samba being top of this list. I just love how they both dance with such abandon and their synchronicity is masterful. Very sexy as well, they have fantastic chemistry together. Amazing routine!
Jay and Aliona did NOT reprise the jive for the final. Their score for the jive was only ever what was awarded originally, it was never awarded a 39 in the fnal. Your research is lacking

So glad Oti and Danny are the top pick here. Their tango, Charleston and jive were also brilliant - they could easily have taken the top four places. Jay and Aliona’s jive should have been higher.
Jay and Aliona 'best dance ever' to quote Bruno. Voted best danace ever by readers of Radio Times, most viewer Strictly dance on RUclips and constantly tops whatever poll it is placed in. Jay is probably the most beloved contestant on there (again recently voted so) and most of his and Aliona's dances were better than many on here but number 8 for their jive, seriously? Number 1 for me, closely followed by Danny and Oti's Samba, which is another wow moment for me.
Jay and Aliona's jive will forever be the dance that stunned the uk. Danny's samba may be good but the shock factor and the authenticity of the reaction that jive got that night, still get chills remembering it. They should have been first and the quickstep by Harry should have been third.
How none of Kara and Artem's dances got onto this list is beyond me. But Danny and Oti's samba definitely deserved the number one spot

Great choice for# 1! Oti's choreography is genius-level. And Danny and she set the dance floor on FIRE with their brilliant dancing. Primal profundity was at the core of every move.

Sophie Allen, So true. Danny and Oti worked so hard and they were geniuses on the dance floor. Oti's choreo is fantastic.
@@esmervbruce7172 , During that very same series Louise had MUCH more dance training than Danny who'd concentrated in DRAMA in stage school and had only a smattering of dance training there over a DECADE BEFORE his stint on STRICTLY! But no one harped on Louise And all that blather about the "West End" made no sense, either. As a CHILD Danny played GAVROCHE who is playground savvy -NOT dance savvy. And Danny was an UNDERSTUDY for Into the Woods where he didn't really dance, either. It was Oti's genius- level choreography and motivational skills and hard work and Danny's own hard work and artist's soul that led to such great performances. Btw, Jay had MUCH more formal dance training than Danny and JAY WON! What was done to Danny over his mere smidgen of dance training compared to many other contestants was terribly unfair. Why the double-standard?
Kara and Artem’s rhumba is one of the most beautiful dances I’ve ever seen!!
That samba was amazing, for a dance that normally ends up being cheesy that was insane, still can't believe they didn't win. Jay's jive is still number 1 for me, he made it look so cool and effortless.

Chillcake Von Chill I don’t seem to remember the pussycat dolls dancing Latin and ballroom & Faye also had previous dance experience & they were both given trickier routines bc of it.

Jay and Aliona's jive is my single favourite strictly dance of all time and for it to not even be top 3 on here is criminal! I'm still pissed to this day it didn't get the 10s it deserved
Vicky Cogrove, Jay's & Aliona's Jive is great. And take a look at brave Danny Mac's & genius Oti's Jive. Danny embodies the sheer energy of Jive by doing TWO splits in quick succession on the floor & yet ANOTHER split in mid air after LEAPING off of a TABLE over Oti's HEAD whilst doing the requisite kicks & flicks during the dance! Jays & Aliona's Jive is smooth & skillful. Danny's & Oti's is on a different plane. It's transcendent it's so courageous.
Couldn't agree more the only judge with any sense was bruno.. That jive was hands down the most exciting and memorable dance for me even to this day

Fandom Central, Aliona's and Jay's jive is excellent, but for me the jive is all about energy and so my fave Jive ever on Strictly is that of Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse. Oti choreographs a high energy lightning bolt that has Danny do TWO splits and Leap off of a table whilst in-between doing the requisite kicks and flicks. Awe-inspiring!

I’m not saying in anyway that ashley didn’t have dance experience bc she most definitely did but it wasn’t ballroom or latin & so many other past contestant have had dance experience but none of them had been called out abt it as much as Ashley had xx

I don't know who came up with this list but half of these dances I don't even remember. Danny mac deserves more, alexandra Burke and gorkas paso was just incredible my favourite paso, Mark and Karen seriously their dance was iconic!

Tom and Camilla’s show dance to If They Could See Me Now from Sweet Charity was my absolute favourite.
Also Louis Smith’s Charleston as well as his show dance, because I felt that was the week that he really came out of his shell and showed his personality.
And of course Jay and Aliona’s jive was just exquisite!
Dev and Dianne’s Aladdin routine from this series is up there as one of my favourites as well now too!
Oh and Ore Oduba and Joanne’s American Smooth to Singin’ in the Rain. It was so simple but beautifully executed. Just classy and tasteful.

Missing Mark Ramprakash's Salsa, Kara Tointon's Rumba, Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Charleston, Georgia May Foote's Charleston and Ashley Roberts' Contemporary, Jive, American Smooth, Salsa and Showdance.
Jay and Aliona should really be way higher on that list. I would have definitely had Ore and Joanne’s American Smooth, Mark Ramprakash’s Samba and Stacey and Kevin’s Tango on there. Plus Joe and Katya’s Argentine Tango and Tom and Camilla’s Showdance were worth an honourable mention!
Where is Joe & Katya's Argentine Tango? That's an iconic Strictly dance for me - and also Jay's Jive scored 37 in Week 3 not 39, and they didn't perform it in the final at all
Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton's paso doble is my favourite of all time - and Karen Hardy and Mark Ramprakash's salsa should be in there too.

Harry Judd's quick step was by far the best dance!!
I agree the best quickstep in the history of the damn show. Extremely underrated it was perfect. Most of Aliona's choreography usually is, the fact that the holy jive was placed 8th was criminal.
Before watching: Jill Halfpenny’s Jive, Danny Mac’s Samba, Chris Hollins’ Charleston, and Mark Ramprakash’s Salsa should be in here.

Emma Canning, Danny and Oti deserve the top spot for their Samba. And even Danny's and Oti's Jive, to me, better embodies the energy and spirit of Jive than Jay's and Aliona's - even though theirs is wonderful, too. But genius Oti and brilliant, brave Danny deliver something truly transcendent as Danny does TWO splits in quick succession and does another split in the air after Leaping off a table ( and over Oti's HEAD) with all the requisite kicks and flicks, as well!
You could of filled the list entirely with Danny Mac and it would have been more accurate.

That Jive during which Danny does TWO splits and LEAPS off of table over Oti's head embodies the energy of the Jive more than any other celeb's Jive has done on Strictly. You can even watch Danny's very FIRST dance with Oti, their wonderful cha cha that Danny had trouble with during training and begged Oti to make simple. She didn't. Thank Goodness. Their Paso, Their Viennese Waltz, Their fantastic Quick-Step in week 6 or 7 , I believe, Their Tango with a Group. ALL their dances-save ONE, were Awe-Inspiring You should watch their interviews on the show, It Takes Two, from the very first week all the way through for insight on background and what was really going on.

2 years on and some of my favourite dances are still on this list. Rachel and Vincent's Argentine Tango remains one of my most favourites even after all this time. I'd have had Abby Clancy on here (her jive was a huge surprise and all her ballroom was beautiful).
Jake and Janette's Salsa should've at least been an honourable mention.
That and their dance to the Macarena (the samba I think)

After just 6 weeks 2019 has seen a couple of dances that could easily figure in this top 10. Jill Halfpennys jive was rhe performance that really put Strictly on the map however, ratings soared after this and have remained consistently high ever since.
My first thought when it comes to Argentine Tango is Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy. With regard to Rachel and Vincent, I’ll always think of their Rumba first. Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup’s showdance iconic.
Danny and Oti’s Samba cemented Oti as my favourite pro since Lilia Kopylova left.
A bit sad Ore and Joanne's dance to singing in the rain didn't make it to the list, but Danny and Oti totally deserve that number 1 spot.

Jay did not do his Jive again in the final. Controversially, they chose the Paso Doble. His Jive scored 37, getting 9s from Craig, Darcey, and Len.

I remember that dance too - one of the standouts. Also the year it was discovered Tom Chambers Couldn't win , no matter how many viewer votes he got. They then changed the voting system. Have never trusted the system on that show since.

@@orlyb1310 The difference between the judges scores and the viewer scores was weighted in some way, meaning that Tom Chambers could not win, regardless of how many viewer votes he got. This hit the press and the BBC changed the system to give Tom Chambers a chance - he won.
As for the current system, they never release viewer vote numbers so - still secret squirrel stuff!
They got Jay and Aliona’s information incorrect. When they did the jive they got 37 (Bruno was the only judge to give 10). They never did the performance again instead preferring to perform their Paso Doble (where they got 39) in the final.
Number #1 is definitely #1. Just perfect!
This show lost a lot when Flavia, Aliona and Vincente left.

Jay and Alionas jive was superb, so was Jill and Darren's it was the dance that got me hooked, but I must admit Louis and Flavia's showcase dance blew me away, Danny Mac and Oti was fantastic, but I thought Louis and Flavia deserved their win, I miss Flavia she's a brilliant dancer
Ashley roberts has the highest average score of any contestant, most 40s, Joint highest consecutive streak of 10s, joint highest number of 10s and 1 of only three to have all 40s in the final. Her Charleston, jive, AS, contemporary, foxtrot and salsa are the best in each style I've seen on the show but she fails to get even a mention? UTTER DISGRACE.

Danny Jay and Lois the top three and in no particular order. They are the ones I remember and think are the best .
