Also yes working for the government, The fact Sam works at such a level he can have the embassy arrange a favor in seconds and Stuart’s connections, I would say while he probably faced a lot of questions I can’t imagine he was pressed to hard
One of my favorite action movie clichés is, the last guy you get to, is always the best fighter, always a master and perfect match for protagonist. And of course all the lackies, henchmen, are bullet sponges with glass for bones.

Yeah, and a bunch of bad guys come at the good guy from all sorts of directions in the open while the good guy not only has an impossible reaction time but manages to hide and dodge bullets.

His daughter doesn't even ask what happened to her best friend. She doesn't morn. The family isn't notified. They just forgot about the friend and went to go meet a pop star
Also, Liam Neeson must have gone to the bathroom at least once or twice and they didn't show that either. All kidding aside, movies skip over things that would happen in real life because they are not deemed relevant to the plot. They are not plot holes when they don't actually change anything in the plot.

They illegally drugged her multiple times and who knows what else they did to her the huge bullies. The criminals used a cocktail of different drugs so it's definitely not kimmy's fault

This movie probably wouldn't have been as bad if there were *any* signs of trauma at the end. She was fucking happier than a 12 year old on Christmas, completely forgetting the fact that she was assaulted, kidnapped, and nearly raped. Also her friend died! Why was the ending so happy? Holy fuck, I would be hiding in my room having small panic attacks for a week!
I think the trauma comes up in Taken 2.
Yeah... I always wondered what happened to her friend. They just left her to die in a crackhouse without telling anyone.

The “People getting hit by an unexpected truck in movies” trope always makes me laugh. It always comes off comedic no matternhow serious the moment. 🤣🤣
It's even comical in real life. I witnessed a gal get bounced about 10ft in the air by a pick-up truck and mid air I heard myself laughing. The event was tragic and traumatic but visually it was ridiculous.

Several years later, he was crossing the street when he was killed by a bus. Reality is both darker and funnier than fiction.
Mean Girls made it impossible to ever take the scene serious again.
I laugh every time too.
I feel like you should have removed a few sins for these:
1. Scene where he tells his daughter “they are going to take you”- so chilling
2. Scene where he asks dude “you don’t remember me? We talked on the phone 2 days ago. I told you I would find you” - badass af
3. Electricity torture scene “we used to outsource for this” and “we used to sometimes have to wait for days with shitty power sources, people would get frustrated and resort to nail pulling and acid drips on bare skin” - badass

Liam Neeson was on 60 minutes recently and said something along the lines of, "I didn't expect that movie to be very successful, it's a very linear and predictable plot line. Daughter is taken, he says he's going to find and kill the guys who took her, he finds them and kills them, and he brings his daughter home safely." Apparently he was surprised at the amount of money that the movie made.

He's not a superhero. Trying to save your daughter and trying to end organized human trafficking are on two entirely different levels. The former, one man could conceivably do, the latter - well, you'd have to be quite optimistic.
How could you not sin the part where Neeson says, "She's been Taken?" (roll credits)
AND the one he says to his daughter "you are going to be taken". Yes he could know this dues to his "special set of skills" but still it makes you wonder how does he really know this. And if the guys know she is under the bed why do they keep talking in albanian to give further hints.
It almost seems that Liam's character ordered this kidnapping so he got play the hero. I mean many of the other sins seem to point to this direction...

It seems like they were simply looking and found her there also the reason he says to his daughter "you are going to be taken.", it's because he knows that there's only so many hiding places in an apartment, sooner or later the kidnappers will find her

The one thing I didn't get about this movie was that nobody ended up caring that her friend died. They didn't show the body being recovered, Kim didn't ask Brian if he saw her...nothing.

Didn't care brian was litteraly shocked to see her dead. The views don't even care the friend is did she wasn't even part of the plot Kim was all we care is Kim being saved by her dad. The friend was there as a tool for the story they don't have fucking time to show the body being recovered because it is about Kim and Bryan
I don't know about Kim, but Brian is a very post 9/11 hero and thus a bit psychopathic. He understands and applies torture methodology and has no problem threatening that French guy's wife with death, though she was innocent.

Just for information: Yes, even though mom had full custody, father still was required to give his permission for their daughter to leave the country. As long as his parental rights are intact, mom can't take her child out of the country or allow her child to leave the country without the father's consent.

No. It depends on wether the parents have split custody or one parent has full custody. If they have split custody then yes, both parents have to sign on important issues rergarding their child. If one parent has full custody though then the other parent has no say whatsoever without involving the family court. And in the US they have the "tender years doctrine" that gives full custody to the mother in almost all cases. Pretty much the only case in which the father gets any custody of his child in divorce proceedings is either if the mother agrees to that or if the father can show definitive, undeniable proof that the mother is something like a drug addict, involved in organized crime or activly abusing the child. And even if he can do that, more often than not the mother still gets full custody simply because she is the mother.

Also, i know the difference between legal custody and physical custody and i'm most certainly not confusing the two. Yes, even when one parent has full physical custody, legal custody may still be split. I'm in Canada, so probably doesn't count, but my name on the birth certificate means that my wife would have to legally remove me, or get my permission to take our son from the country were we not together, or divorced. This was before we even got married that I was informed of this in making plans for a trip back home with our son.

You missed a sin: When Kim was yelling out her captors' distinguishable features to Bryan over the phone when she was kidnapped, she clearly said: "Beard, 6 feet......". However, when Bryan is listening to the recording of the description on the plane, it's suddenly: "Mustache, 6 feet......".
And then when Bryan is at the apartment in Paris, the flashback sequence again shows her saying "Beard, 6 feet....".
She also says ‘tattoo right hand moon and stars’

I initially misunderstood the phrase "pop star assassin", and in doing so came up with a movie idea I NEED to see on the big screen.

What about in "Catch me if you can" when he was locked up for mass forgery committed in France and escapes when the FBI came to extradite him. Every time a sin is pointed out because of a clock in the shot I giggle a bit on the inside. First semester class of media production our instructor pointed out someone leaving a clock in the background of one of their shots and said never put a clock in the shot unless you are actively using it as part of the story because you will have to stop and change the time on every take.
