I've bought 3 scopes off Simon in the last 3 months, 2 Vector Veyrons and 3-12x44 FFP version of the one reviewed here. All great products at great prices, and with 1st class Service. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the review, not many of them around for the West Hunter scopes. Two questions..... 1. what is the eye relief and eye box like on the compact scope? Is it quite forgiving or do you have to be very precise with your head placement? 2. How fine is the reticle, and at what zoom (being FFP) is it easy to pick up in a hunting scenario, i.e. picking it up against poorly lit backgrounds, like in the wood, looking into the canopy, etc. Many thanks, Dan.
Hi, good to hear from.yoy, the eye box on the Westhunters is easy on the eye and suited for quick target acquisition. The eye relief with my eyes and occular lens adjusted is around 3.5/4" ...
I'm leaning towards the West Hunters at the moment but there is very little in it. They are both at the top of their game. You would get noticed with a westhunter...:)
Hi, I'm just getting to grips with NV as until recently it wasn't something I had the need to use. But I have been doing my homework as we are starting to take NV products and I can confirm that feedback from customers is that it works well. I am just working on a detailed video on the Westhunter NVE20 as on which we are stocking and I plan to test it using this scope.
hi simon ,thanks for getting back to me.being honest i only found out about pqara about 3 wks ago as i didn't know of your shop i bought a west hunter 4-16×44 ffp from alliexpress.lovely looking compact scope but being honest i think its a fake as reticle is very very faint and nightvision will not work through it.learned my lesson,i feel if i bought off pqara.co.uk it would work fine,im devestated.its not worth my while posting it back to china.
Hi, the Westhunter TD 5-30 is .308 rated, I think even using factory loads a .308 might be a little touch for this scope... The Valiant scopes are very popular with fire arms shooters at the moment..
Hi Jeremy, we haven't tried them yet, but our new Westhunter order is almost here and we will have a full range.of their new scopes which I will be putting through there paces.
Hi Lee, we are based in Kippax Leeds, LS257AP. We welcome customers by appointment or you can order online from our website or eBay. www.pqara.co.uk just give us a ring if we can be of any help.
Hi Eric, thanks for the feedback, to erm is to be human...lol and sadly it sometimes takes a little while for my brain to buffer.. if I could stop erming I definitely would... I mainly do the videos for fun, andI'm definitely no master, but hopefully still worth watching...that video is quite old now though and a few of my latest ones have slightly less erms... ,😀😀😀
Hi Dave, thanks for watching and again for the feedback. I'm far from a pro at the RUclips stuff but always trying to improve and mainly just enjoy myself. Currently I just use my mobile phone so will have to look into something a bit better for my next videos. Cheers again .. Stay safe.. Simon
I totally agree China made goods are now some of the best in the world. Particularly now Schot the German glass manufacturer have built a massive multi million dollar glass plant to supply high-quality glass into the optic market...
Well I guess each to there own and everyone's eyes are different, I'm curious to know what you replaced it with in the same price range that wasn't made in china, and should we be stocking them. We have a few scopes that are Japanese made glass at double + the price
@@sjburgon let’s put it this way, you pay what you get for. The turret doesn’t have enough range to turn up or down if you are a long range shooter ( run out of MIL) and windage is also the same. The lenses are fine. The one that I got had focus knob problem and stuck. For $100 more, I got Athlon scope
@@drtruong66 I'm shooting air rifles so I don't need to pay the price of an athlon scope, but they are one step up. These scopes are fine out to 250 yards and ruggedly made. It's great to have something with ffp which is almost essential to perfect airgun hunting, but not have to pay 280+ for it.
fellow shooter at the club bought the west hunter scope , hes got only good things to say

In your honest opinion which scope would you choose between... West Hunter or Vector Optics?

would it work with a rear add on nite vision attachment?
I am just teaching myself about NV add-ons but I can confirm the 4-16x44FFP seems to work well with NV according to customer feedback.
is the west hunter 4-16×44 ffp suited to nite vision attachments?

West hunter rocks it big time!!! I love mine and it’s so crystal clear and the etched glass is spot on with several hundred dollars scooes
Yep they are definitely well made and designed..
How do you think it would do on a 270
Perfect if you can still find them

Good review but I feel you need to concentrate on no so many erms, I do not mean to be so PC incorrect but it is off putting.

Ammmmmmmm. Ammmmm
I got one. It is made in China. China-made stuff tells you everything and no need to explain.

Let me correct what i meant... I got one and returned it......
