Best Budget Tablet For 2022? | Nokia T10 Unboxing

- Опубликовано: 26 июн 2024
- Unboxing the Nokia T10 tablet, a budget device sporting respectable specs and stock Android vibe, with three years of security updates and eco-friendly finish. The Nokia T10 will cost you just over £150 in the UK, and could be your best tablet option at this price, if you don't want to go Amazon Fire.
As well as yanking it from the box, this hands-on review shows off the various features. Performance is limited with a Unisoc Tiger (rarr) chipset running the show, but this Android device can just about handle some light gaming. Battery life is excellent, with a full day of play comfortably achieved. However, the Nokia T10's 8-inch display is basic IPS tech and the stereo speakers don't exactly put your eardrums at risk with their immense power.
If you want a more compact option vs the Nokia T20 tablet from last year then this is certainly an option, and a fine way to browse the web, kick back with some RUclips etc. But what do you reckon, tempted by the Nokia T10? It'd be great to hear your own mini review below!

I chose the Nokia T10 over the iPad mini for two reasons, battery life and storage (and I guess price). Battery life is amazing. I was only getting 6-8 hours on the ipad mini but the T10 gets at least 10 hours. 64GB on a $500 device in 2023 is just crazy. With the T10 I can plop in an SD card. A bonus reason is that it is just nice to have something different than the boring iOS.
My 82 year old mum is going to be so happy with you.
She has been using a Huawei Mediapad M5 as a phone for years.
But I haven't been able to find a replacement.
LTE version of this might be perfect.
I wonder if companies have completely missed an opportunity to sell big simple tablets to old people who like tech and big buttons on their phone?
Can we have 8" tablet, SD870, 8GB RAM, 128GB , 1080P SCREEN and top it all up with a stylus
Thats basically mi tab 5 pro mate
@@waiyannyein7439 The Mi Pad 5 is like 10 inch bro
the closest we have to this is the lenovo tab y700, minus the stylus support. There is really no android tablet we can compare to the ipad mini 6 sadly.
Ipad mini is your best choice now tablet market now is full of 10+ inch tablet
sadly most tab that has a good performance came with 10" and above
Hi Uncle Chris,
Thank you for reviewing a tablet. It's a shame we don't have more choice when it comes to tablets. I have the Samsung tab S6 lite and though it's alright I don't like Samsung's launcher. Looking forwards to the Pixel tablet and really hoping you can get hold of one for a review.
Ha, you really are the tiger and thanks for this device I am indeed tempted I think I should get one next year.
So long as the user has no great expectations, this tablet may be fine. I am using older larger tablets from Huawei and Samsung, and both still perform well. The Samsung Tab A 10.5 from 2018, just received another security update, even though it is stuck on Android 10, One UI. If anyone wants a powerful tablet, they will have to pay more and even look at the ipads, which are powerful and well supported.
Cool. Thank you. Don't suppose you could do a non-gaming review of the Legion Y700 tablet, please?
I'm watching this on the t10 and I think this is a great review, very honest and realistic. As a budget tablet it really isn't up to the same smoothness as a mid range phone but if you know this, you can't go wrong for the price. It's pretty much exactly what you would expect for £149 although that is the LTE version.
Very happy with it as I knew exactly what it did and for the price, zero complaints
Can I ask if you've tried phone calls on the t10?
@Beast Gamerz But I just happened to pause the video where he shows the list of apps, and I couldnt see the 'Phone' app. I am interested in getting this, and knowing if I can make phone calls with my sim is pretty much the only concern I have....
So I suppose he was showing us the wifi variant in the video.
@@michaelbiram I can't do calls on mine
@@k.vijayalakshmi4889 I can't make calls on mine which is the LTE version
Awesome video
Would you review the new T21 tablet from Nokia? Thank you!
The T20 has proven to be a very solid and reliable tablet. Great for everyday use covering most of my needs. Simple, practical and straightforward. The T10 would be a good choice for those who haven't yet bought the T20 or as Uncle Spurt said, those looking for smaller size tablets. I'd like to see what the T21 has to offer as well.
still no Android 12 on it though. Nokia don't keep their promises on OS upgrades, they aren't to be trusted.
@@AdamWrighter Ok, bye
Still think the xiaomi mi pad 4 is still the best cheap 8 inch tablet
@@AdamWrighter the problem with all companies now
@@AdamWrighter it's already available now
I'll go for it as soon as it's available here because the price is decent and I think it does the job for series and browsing
8" is my ideal tablet size.
wow was hesitating between lenovo m8/m7 or samsung a7 lite for my kid to play games and videos, then stumbled on this! Interesting!
I love that tablet it's best for normal working
Thanks!
Looks like a good tablet for reading on the train to work
Sir what microphone to you use?
Nokia lie about it's OS support!
Something worth pointing out regarding Nokia's OS updates. Two years of OS updates doesn't mean you are gonna get the latest version of Andriod e.g. 13, 14 etc. I bought a Nokia 5.3 in September 2020 (the phone came out May-July same year), and it was promised the phone will get two years of OS updates courting from its release date. However, at the end of the two years promised, users were left with Android 11. We never got Android 12 even though it came out 6 months before the end of the OS support date.
meh, updates break and bloat more than anything these days. hopefully get security updates and don't worry about the rest.
this is true ios, android, windows etc.
Maybe it wasn't stable enough yet
@@rokko_hates_japan Basically this. OS updates aren't that important, it's just the UI. Motorola had several issues with android updates. I prefer a fast and stable system.
My 5.3 got Android 12 its network dependant also remember 👍
Nokia 5.3 has been receiving Android 12 update in the last couple of months
Where do you get those wallpapers from? They're awesome.
His mum...
I dont know if this beauty baldy actually an anime fan or not but I love the wallpapers
Will I be able to make voice calls with the LTE version, since we can insert a sim?
3/32gb should be considered a crime in 2022 on phone and tablet tbh!
Just ordered the t10 on Amazon. Excited to see how it turns out..
Any thoughts?
@@jgsk78 hey! Happy with the purchase. Was confused between this and Lenovo M8. Tried both in person found UI and touch better on Nokia t10. All devices are fast and responsive these days, so didn't compare on that. Most importantly I needed a small tablet for reading. And thicker bezels of t10 help with prolonged holding and prevent accidental mistouches.
Sadly, despite having no budget constraints per se, I had to settle for a budget tablet because absolutely no one in the android world...not even samsung is working on a decent high end small tablet with a great stylus that can compare in any way to the ipad mini. And I didn't want to buy an Apple product (Have my reasons, don't ask). Hopefully this helps and was in time to aid your purchase. Cheers!
@@hardik373how was its display quality for watching movies or vedios . And does it support voice calling
Can the 4G/LTE version do SIM card voice calling and SMS, and does it have an earpiece speaker?
I have been wanting a very small, stock android tablet.. this looks like a good option! I wanted something like the nexus 7 but more modern, and the blue looks great. Only downside is that its a lower resolution. Hmph.
I would recommend xiaomi mi pad 4 as a better 8 inch tablet with full hd screen
@@PS2GAMER100 isn't the mipad 4 for china only?
@@quchi7232 There is an international version which I bought from a website
@@PS2GAMER100 I wouldn't
Please be aware, software update situation wasn't great on Nokia T20. We didn't get regular security patches. Widewine L1 support wasnt added to T20. Promised Android 12 update is still nowhere to be seen. And they've already released mext version of th tablet 👎
Widevine is hardware things.. no update can makes it go L1 😂
@@darkentity94 Not entirely. They were numerous reports of software updates removing support in some devices. Lets see, there's no hardware limitation with T20 as far as I can see
Just be patient, they may be slow to update their products but they give bug free updates at least
@@minukarodrigo No bro, thats the worst part... some of the updates were buggy too. 😂
@@amaljoe367 but they're very quick to fix it. For example, my Nokia 8 couldn't take photos from the stock camera app and an update with 2-3 weeks restored its full functionality
Will it be able to handle Bandlab without latency? Please help... i like the tab if it can work
Hi Chris
Can you suggest me a good Stylus pen for Nokia Tablet? I'm using nokia T21
could you do best tablets of 2021 to 2022 from budget to higher price as be looking for android tablet come christmas main things movies games good battery power
There is now a substantial gap in the Tablet Market as there are no high performance 8 inch Tablets available since the demise of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is pretty basic and is of a similar Entry Level Quality to the Nokia T10.
At least this comes with better specs at a lower price
Can you please do mate 50 pro
Any 4:3 aspect ratio android tablet available?
Why not a 8“ LTE Version as a daily driver? 😁
Pretty much identical to the Samsung A7. 👍
I was wonder if you can do a video for the Nokia T10 with pencil drawing will it work????
Question, with a SD card does it act like extra internal storage or only documents, parts of apps and other such files on it as it's hard to find out
Yes the SD card can be used as adoptable storage 👍
Does it support 18 fast charge?
♥️ for the "kindergartener Biceps" . 😂😂😂
Hello. Tell me, please. Is there a "phone" function? Thanks
doe anyone know if there is a way of turing off that swipe to right bit its annoying
Why don't more manufacturers produce Chrome tablets, like Lenovo did with their Ideapad Duet?
I guess they didn't sell well.
it doesnt even launch with 12L and 13 is out rn, so big big nope for me. launching with 2 big updates behind is just not great at all.
Can the LTE version be used as a phone? Could be great for those of us with larger sized hands (no shade, mate 😜) and who appreciate a big screen.
Yes it can just as the new Nokia T21 can be also. Great feature at this price point I’ve not really seen anywhere else, although I’m sure some Chinese brand does.
@badazznc tech reviews Not really in my budget - this is 10x cheaper!
Everyone saying yes it can are lying.. LTE is for data SIM only 👍
@@shaunofthedead5059you are absolutely right, both versions (wifi and lte) DO NOT support messaging and calling
I never get why the rear cameras are always better than the front on tablets... we use the front cams way more often.
Do they even NEED a rear camera on a tablet? Why don't they use that money on more memory or better cpu?
Love me some chunky bezels
Thanks for nifty review. As an Am. Fire 8 inch user I will come out strongly in support of this size tablet for general hand-held use. Return to a 7 inch and the 8 inch seems a major step up. The Nokia T10 price can't compete with the Am. Fire 8, which is silly cheap for 3gig of RAM and good stereo speakers, but has no access to the Android Play store - hacks ignored.
Welllllll... If you get the version without lock screen advertising, the Fire HD8 and this are the same price, and this doesn't have advertising on the lock screen...
And where can I get the original in Turkey?
I just want a sequel to the Xperia Z3 Tablet, which I still use (with an increasingly sad face) today.
THIS. omg i cant believe sony didnt update their tablet so long, sony ecosystem is becoming more and more compeling with their elite tv, xperia smartphones that outshines most of others, top class earbuds and headphones and etc, smartwatches and tablets what are we missing from sony, hope son they will enter that market again
I still have mine but sadly the battery swelled so I don’t use it anymore :( I have the compact 8” model.
I got the Z3 compact tablet too, only not using it any more due to pissy battery life. And the changing it would cost over 100€
Same here, except mine had literary fallen apart already some years ago.. sides ungluing and separating.. can't believe they're still selling tablets with same 3gb of ram nearly 10 years later.. I'm also on a market for similar sized device, m9 from Lenovo or used iPad mini 5 look like best value for money options...
Waiting on your review on the Huawei Mate 50 Pro
Please tell me where do u get this wallpaper from
Zedge
It's a good tablet for younger kids
How do i know the original please?
"A plastic arse" , hilarious and informative.🤠
Don’t hold your breath while waiting on android updates. T20 is still on android 11.
Why cant someone produce a premium spec 8 inch..ish size tablet, like a tab s8 mini. I would buy such a tablet in an instant rather than a myriad of budget poor performing and disappointing small tablets.
I think its a nice tablet. Not for me - but for secondary school students. Better than an awfully expensive ipad for sure.
Good enough to watch RUclips or read horoscopes.
Viewing angles look rather dark. Unless that's just the settings it starts up on!
So ehy do they do this? The T20 has received good reviews and seems a nice all rounder, but this is a wasted opportunity.
Widevine L1. T20 shipped with Widevine L3
Also because they need budget tablet to compete against Realme etc. Parents surely get this for their toddlers.
My 2 Nokias
7.2 is on Android 11 1st August update.
XR20 is on Android 12 update 1st August.
So not bad. Would I buy this? Nah.
I keep my old phones so I use them as makeshift tablets.
Pointless comment really 🤣👍
😎👍
I was going to buy this, but I bought the tab a7 lite instead. Spec wise they're more or less identical, but the Samsung has a higher build quality while the Nokia has more guaranteed updates. I got it for about 40 quid less than the T10 would have been too.
Specs wise they are not identical though. Unisoc t606 is much better soc than helio P22 in A7 lite
Amusing review. Is it able to use SD card as internal storage?
Update 2022-10-05: System update installed today solved problem with WiFi. With that fixed, this tablet is a good replacement for the nexus 7 (2013). Low resolution of the T10 is not noticable by me.
Before the system update: I cannot recommend the T10. Your statement that Wifi connectivity would be reliable, is definitely not true for me. It says 'No Internet' despite being connected to wifi after standby or watching youtube video via ChromeCast. You must restart the T10 for getting internet access again. Nokia support is bad. No individual handling of support request but giving identical anwers, that did not help me. I am not the only one with this problem. Watch into the Nokia community forum.
Windows display extension does not work either. I own the LTE version.
The display is already a no no for me
Anime name of the red hair and blue haired characters would love that wallpaper?
Geez Chris, you are knocking these reviews out like it was the ends of the world....oh wait wut? It is lmao
I bought one last week on the official french nokia website, the wifi is malfunctionning. I try to return it but there is no such option in the website.
Customer service don't help at all.
They are just telling me to wait, that the option will appear.
Nokia is best
To be honest, you can pick up the Huawei MediaPad m5 8.4 on eBay now for less than a hundren quid which is 100 times the tablet this is so I don't get Nokia, who is this tablet for ?.
Good one for kids or really light use otherwise meh
we need gaming tablet
3gb ram and 32gb rom. From these specs alone its obvious that hmd staff is following the old Nokia "plan".
There is 4gb version but I am not sure whether that version is available worldwide
Funny Sprut in Danish means booze, Is it a coincidence!, I bet its not🤣😂😜
I think my old Asto Wars table top game has a faster CPU and more RAM.
I think you chat shit
So in other words it’s not worth updating from my Lenovo 4 8 inch tablet
Tablets are small but phones are big. It's not the right way, i think
I bought this now 78€
Android market need more compact tablet i dont want to bring a laptop screen by my side and called it a tablet
0:23 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Who is this aimed at? It looks well shit for £159, it's going up against the Amazon fire crap or the lenovo m10 both cheaper and better specs than this. This looks like they've updated their old N1 stock and hoped no one would notice.
Android purists who needs the job done, much better than Samsung Tab A 7.0, 8.0 etc
Also this has similar or better specs than M10 since this has a Unisoc chipset
For Nokia T10 is a No they are just selling OS update 🤔
Watching this on my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra
Whilst tugging one out?🙄
Tiger RAR T606 😂😂😂
Can someone make a dinky counter?
Nokia manged to put a flash led on a cheap tablet while Apple only put it on its 899€+ Ipad pros. Come on...
