Thank you! With the PolyKote original and pro, the bubbles pop themselves. With the Enhanced you still need to use a torch towards the end to pop bubbles because it's a thicker product.
Absolutely! Order the Savage Patriot Promoter that will help bond the PolyKote to it really well. Be sure to prep the surface and edges properly. If you want more guidance join our group on Facebook called Artisan Academy - Epoxy & Coatings
Great job! 🎉 I just want to pour a countertop in my kitchen and I'm wondering if I need to matt the surface if it's quartz? In addition, it has cracked in some places, so I rather need to cover these cavities first with some putty or plaster. I also have a question about the edges. Do they always come out as nicely as you did with no streaks? I just added myself to your FB group. Thanks!!
Thank you! Yes there are different steps to prepping over quartz. I suggest posting photos of your counters with your question in our group so we can address the process easier.
I'm super excited about the potential of using PolyKote on my existing laminate countertops, however, I need to do a pour-in-place and have a 4", rounded edge backsplash that can't be removed. Is there a way to use PolyKote on a vertical surface, even though it's so much more fluid than epoxy? TIA
Glad you are excited. I wouldn't recommend using PolyKote on a vertical surface in general but I'd rather see photos of what you're working with first. Do you follow us on Facebook? If so, send us some photos to our messenger.
We built it using MDF. You can definitely do it over laminate or Formica but it requires a different prep. If you look up Artisan Academy- Epoxy & Coatings group on FB, join it and post your question. Easier to reply there than on RUclips. And that way you get other responses as well.

@@roserodriguez5491you mean like plywood? Technically yes you can go over plywood but you would want to seal it first. It's better if you can to fabricate out of MDF. But with plywood if you sanded it and then did a thin coat of resin first to seal any air, then you can scuff it with 220 grit sandpaper and then do a bonding primer followed by a regular paint primer before pouring.
Do you find this brand to be as durable as Stone Coat? Just stumbled on your videos and have been researching them a ton! I’m reading that resin is less durable than epoxy? I’m a newbie admittedly and welcome your thoughts!

Yes you can pour over an old epoxy countertop. Just sand well first. I'd also recommend primer on top before pouring. If there's topcoat on top you'll want to sand it off and then put Kilz Adhesion Bonding Primer before your regular primer. Only 2 gallon kits at this time.
