1:36 a physical key still wont help in this type of attack, they steal your cookies so they can log into your accounts bypassing the 2fa and password. Basically if you have any remember me and other websites you don't need to type a password to log into they can use those cookies to log into your account.
you probably got infected by clicking a link and downloading something. Someone probably pretending to be a sponsor and when you opened the download nothing happened.
only real way to stop these attacks in the future is to not have anything on the computer you open and download stuff on and use an email only for that purpose or have virtual machines.

I highly recommend getting yubikeys and locking your RUclips account down with them, if you set up your Google account right there's no way someone can get into the account without one of the keys, a password manager like bitwarden that can also be locked down with the same yubikey can make hacking attempts on your accounts damn near impossible by using very long random passwords in conjunction with the yubikey
Hey Rick I’m a dev, don’t know if you will see this but I would recommend using a password vault manager. Something like keeper or last pass. Make sure you use their recommended password and just save it in the record. Don’t ever save any passwords to chrome. Their password manager sucks and is very easy to decrypt. Also, use unique passwords for everything never copy and paste from other passwords and then finally use 2FA or MFA whenever possible. You can do additional things to help secure your home and store network but I won’t get into all of that, just letting you know. Super sorry this happened.

I was just on your hacked channel (microstrategy) and I was able to scroll down all the way to the bottom of your videos and they are all there. I was able to watch your very first video as well as others. Hope it gets figured out man, I been watching since 2019.
I commented on the last video. I went through this exact thing about 2 years ago. I have some info that could help and a way to prevent it in the future.

This is a very scary situation, but I've seen it so many times before, and in every case, their channels have been restored eventually, I really hope the same is the case with you! I know it's scary to see people unsubscribe so rapidly and the lost revenue isn't good either but I really think things will work out in the long run! I am so sorry that this happened to begin with
sometimes i have to unsub from a channel i dont even know why im subscribed too. they were probably hacked, and never got their channels back. I always wonder what the channel was before, cuz there is no way id stay subbed to what they become.. usually just dead channels with no content and a changed name.
nothing scary about it. it just shows how much people rely on technology. if you rely on one revenue source that much, you're setting your self up for failure.

If they got a clone of your browser or phone You need to force log out all the devices and change your phone number for 2FA. Switch to the authenticator app.

I feel for you. I hope you get the channel back. That is pretty crazy they were able to get around the 2 step authentication. It really makes you think what else isn't safe. I'm changing all my stuff now.
Assuming that its the same type of phishing that others have gotten hit with, its an email posing as a sponsor offer that has some sort of malware which copies the RUclips/Google cookies from the victim's computer to the host. On Google's end, it as if Rick was doing this all from his own computer.
This is a blessing in disguise. A lot of people are talking about your situation. When everything is fixed, your channel will blow up with supporters. 😊

I'm not a youtuber, but i do know what being hacked feels like, such that earlier this year i had to create another facebook account due to someone taking over, or hacking into the other one, such as changing the login completely without my knowledge and deleting my phone number. Hopefully you'll get ur channel back, and these hackers will be apprehended.

The fact they regained control makes me do wonder if they have planted a tracker code into the system you accessed it on. You may have to do a full wipe of the storage device in question i'm afraid or even worse remove it and replace it.

Good news Rick. Your channel isn't terminated anymore. I found an old comment of yours and was able to get to your RUclips page. The videos aren't there but your icon is. Yesterday when I went to the link off your twitter it just said "this page was terminated" so there's progress
