I am an Indian Gorkha and have extended family in Nepal - the people there are very close to India and our tradition but many are getting impacted by the false propaganda - we must act fast to mend our relationship and image with them - big fan of Major - Jai Hind

Well Indians and Nepalis both have taken each other for granted. Even the Nepalis only always have great expectations only from India but will let much worse tresspasses from China or Pakistan slide. Its the age old saying at work here: familiarity breeds contempt. Still, this should be a wake up call for both India AND ALSO, Nepal. We must work harder to maintain a strong bond!
Not exactly. India has extended every support Nepal required without expecting anything in return. Even recently India donated medical kits to Nepal despite having strained relations. India never ever considered revisiting the treaties it signed with Nepal which is heavily lopsided to Nepal side in the first place for retaliation so on and so forth. So if Nepal turned out to be ungrateful it's not India's fault. India is doing spectacularly well. Having Nepal by its side or not won't change a thing for India.

As an ex Army Officer I can say that we us Jai Hind on meeting someone also leaving. This is because the greeting is a secular one. It has no connection with any religion or caste. Even as a Sikh meeting another Sikh soldier or Officer one would say Jai Hind and not Sat Sri Akal
It should be Jai Bharat. Hind means only northern India & besides that it's a Persian-Avestan word.
Saying Jay hind isn’t important like how China increasing their navy in the Indian Ocean and having built a village in Arunachal Pradesh,. How you greet one another isn’t as pressing a matter as saving Indian territory from enemy control.
I am a Punjabi and I can understand Poonchi/Dogri that is spoken in POJK 100%. It is a dialect of Punjabi. POJK Muslims are not Kashmiris but Dogra Muslims. POJK is an extension of Jammu region not Kashmir valley.

We are only reading the history of Partition now, and discovering that Roosevelt was pushing for a united India, and Chiang-kai Shek and his wife were mediating with the British and Nehru to stay united.

Had they stayed back in India, they would have caused too many problems. Like it or not, Partition was necessary. The Congress failed to prevent the Muslims from being radicalized because Gandhi himself supported the pernicious endeavour of the Khilafat, which mobilized the Muslims on religious grounds and this continued for almost the next three decades well until Partition.

If I remember correctly, Nepal was the first country which Modiji visited after becoming the PM. Unfortunately, we haven't been getting an equal response from Nepal. Nepal has been very unstable in the last 5 years or so. There has to be a limit to submissiveness for a country like India. Nepalese are our equal brothers but Nepal has to do their bit as well.

I came across this video and I think this is probably one of those videos where I agree with Major Gaurav Arya. I don't like his shouting self on Republic TV but I think here he is talking sense especially with reference to Nepal. In my interactions with people from Nepal (I have a sizable number of friends from Nepal) they have always laid objection to the idea of the 'Big Brother' role that India asserts and same is the case with Sri Lanka too (Again some of my acquaintances from Sri Lanka have told me this). They want to be equals and not considered inferior to anyone and we as Indians have to ensure that we treat them as such. I am happy I came across this video.

Major Arya, problem with our PM is no follow up. When Mr. Modi took over as PM in 2014, Bhutan was the 1st country he visited and Nepal was 2nd country he visited. That visit was roaring success. His took his foster son who is a Nepali. That was such as benevolent gesture. Modiji's visit to Pashupatinath temple. It was such a great scene. If there was election then Modi ji would have won hands down.

My dear Gaurav, whole of Tarai area of India was given to Nepalese king by British for the services of Gorkha soldiers. Maithili is the largest language of Nepal. Basically Janakpur, area is of India. Read history. Sita & Guatam Budha were from India only.
