    I'm of the same mindset. There's a hospital that I've been working at that's 10 minutes from my house that pays me $325-$900 bonuses each time I show up to work, on top of my hourly rate. It makes sense for me just to stay home. I'll leave out when flu season hits and the rates go back up.

      Absolutely! I can make this at home. I’m not leaving my house to go across the country for these pennies.

    A lot of facilities have found raising the pay and giving bonuses keep the nurses in their home state

    It's all on where you go...I consider myself a Regional Travel Nurse - meaning I travel within a 2 to 3 hr region of my home. I utilize furnished finder to rent a room in a house and manage my expenses to optimize my stipend. This strategy makes it very profitable for me to continue as a travel nurse

    I have expenses that won't allow me 2 work 4 what many of these agencies r hitting me up with. My minimum is $3200-$3600wk/36hrs. My current assignment ends next week for $4000/36hrs. I'm extending @ a reduced rate of $3800/36hrs.
    Instead of picking up extra shifts, I may pick up day 2 day agency work n the area & c how that works out. I let 1 recruiter know the rate they were offering won't cover housing n these areas, let alone my home expenses. I can't travel 2 break even & only save $1500/month.
    Airbnbs have increased their rates targeting travel nurses. Many of the places r trash.

      Absolutely! The expense to travel vs the compensation just isn't adding up anymore. Still decent money but if you have bills and responsibilities at home...it just not worth it.

    I totally agree its not worth it going out of town when you can make it local in your state if offering. I’m on a local travel contract in my county making good money I don’t get the stipend which is ok I make out really good weekly. Lordy I miss that Covid money tho goodness 😩I’m a saver so I still got some 😊

    Depends where you live. If you live in the south, YES…travel nursing is still worth it. Southern staff rates are TRASH.

      During COVID, if you were on a crisis assignment. Yes, they paid for everything. However, these types don’t happen anymore. Now, there are some agencies that will find housing for you but it does come out of your pay. It’s not free.

    I have a quick question . Do agencies ask for school diploma ? I have been working with AYA since last year for two contracts and they just asked me to provide my school diploma. I provided them all my credentials but I’m wondering why they’re asking for diploma all of the sudden ? Is it just me or it’s everyone? Why now lol ? I have it though !!!

      Never been asked for diploma. Just my license.

    i thought that travel agencies pay for housing for each assignment

    • @adamdashawn
      @adamdashawn  Год назад

      They typically offer a stipend that you use towards your housing. A lot of the COVID crisis assignment offered housing but that's not typical.
