  • Patrick Daugherty (@RotoPat) and Denny Carter (@CDCarter13) preview the AFC West with the help of Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano (@GManzano24) and Underdog Fantasy’s Hayden Winks (@HaydenWinks). Gilberto helps Pat and Denny understand just what might happen in the Chargers’ confusing skill corps. Will Josh Palmer default into No. 1 duties? Can Kimani Vidal make a run at lead-back status? Hayden helps break down who could break out in the Chiefs’ remade receiver corps, if Bo Nix is ready to provide fantasy goodness in Denver, and whether Brock Bowers’ landing spot is as bad as feared. Along the way they discuss Ladd McConkey, Audric Estime, Zamir White and much, much more. #NFL #NFLonNBC #AFCWest

      Yeah... I don't even care if we go 14-3 at least this team won't be so damn soft.... I think it's a 2 year rebuild. But we should have a winning record.

    You could argue Herberts receiving core has been worse than thin considering the availability of Williams and to a lesser extent Allen. I think he will have his best year

    • @PastelitoPapi
      @PastelitoPapi Месяц назад +3

      This. People constantly say it’s Allen and Williams and Ekeler but Williams was usually injured, Ekeler can only get yards if he’s catching it out in the flat and Allen, while amazing as a player, probably shouldn’t be your WR1 as someone who was never a supremely athletic at 31 years old.

      You think Herbert is going to have more than 38td and over 5100 yards? Because that would be his best year.

    Come on! The reason Herbert throws so much is that the Chargers haven't had even an average running game since he was drafted. Better than average run game = fewer passes. Great analysis, guys.

    I will ALWAYS take mahomes as my QB1 in fantasy, and feel totally comfortable with it. I drafted him in round 1 last year, he had his worst statistical season, and I still won my league.

    In terms of real football, I think it is Chiefs again, they own this division. I expect Harbaugh to massively improve the Chargers, everywhere he goes he wins. I think they make the playoffs this year. Raiders Defense is dirty tough and I love their head coach, but I think they miss the playoffs. I think Broncos offense could be a lot better, but their defense is one of the worst in the league. They are a defense to attack in DFS just like last year. In terms of season long fantasy, I think Mahomes bounces back. His ceiling is the highest of any fantasy QB - higher even than Josh Allen. Allen has a better floor - he has cleared 400 fantasy points 4 years in a row, but Mahomes has shown he come close to 430 total season long points in half PPR ... scored as high as 429 (2022) and I expect a similar season this year. Much better weapons this year. Last year they wanted Toney to be the WR1. Good luck trying to stack Mahomes though - he throws to like 10 receivers a game. Kelce and then guess. Also - the problem was not Chiefs Defense being good last year, it was all the drops by the Chiefs WR. Andy Reid will keep running it up on you well into the 4th quarter, he will not slow it down and start running the ball like some coaches. Mahomes has talked about wanting to get into more games like that this year - which he thinks will allow Spags to be very aggressive with his blitz packages.

    What hasn't worked for Herbert is a defense that's been rated 29-30th the last 3 years. If Herbert had a defense as good as KC his playoff record would be comparable to Mahomes. Harbaugh's going to improve the defense a lot.

    • @walkerdefaul8487

      Mahomes went to the afc champ game his first year as a starter with the worst defense in the nfl.
      Chargers defense hasn’t been in the bottom 3 of points per game since 2021.
      2022 chiefs allowed 21.7 point per game
      2022 chargers 22.6
      Mahomes won the Super Bowl and justin got bounced in the first round.
      Your guy is just not as good. You are going to have to deal with that emotionally at some point in your life.

    • @mathewjones8886
      @mathewjones8886 Месяц назад +2

      That's hilarious, there is a huge gulf between Mahomes and Herbert. After 6 season as a starter Mahomes could retire tomorrow and Herbert would never match his achievements. Maybe wait until your guy has won a single post season game before trying to compare him to the best QB currently playing.

      @walkerdefaul8487 not giving Reid enough credit, if Mahomes had Lynn and Staley as head coach he'd have 0 rings, had Herbert had Reid who knows, Harbaugh is more like Reid than Brandon Staley so we'll see.

      @@jbkmjl I give Reid plenty of credit but he needed Mahomes as much as #15 needed him. The Chargers will need at least 2-3 years to build a squad good enough to overcome the deficiency at QB and genuinely challenge KC. The idea that they're a threat this season is fanciful at best.

    Too bad Harbaugh doesn’t have a top 3 defense like he did at the 49ers or generational bell cow like Frank gore. Otherwise I might actually be worried. His weirdo schtick will wear thin fast on the chargers. This is doomed to fail, poor Justin he needs to get out of the chargers organization and quit wasting his career

    • @nickfuryz
      @nickfuryz Месяц назад +1

      Why were the niners 6-10 with a "top 3 defense and generational bell cow" before Harbaugh got there? According to you, the niners were this great team before Harbaugh.
      Your logic does not hold. Harbaugh will make the chargers a great team, and it won't take long.
