"I had won. I was trying to smile, but it the smile of desolation. Inside I felt only the pity, and the terror, and the waste of it all. Everyone I ever loved, and who'd ever loved me, all gone; all gone down."
really one of the most underrated pieces of fantasy out there -- great actors, great story, great music - Still my favorite interpretation of the Merlin story (fantastical or not)!
I love this TV Movie. After so many years, I still frequent here to relive the memories of that mystical era. The music is amazing! It actually conveys the emotional range of hopes, regrets and joy.
One of my fave soundtracks ever.....I couldnt beleive how amazing it was for a tv movie soundtrack. Its so epic and exhilirating. Gives me chills every time.
I actually think this series deserves historical attention for the genre. It is truly of exceptional quality, and part of that is of course the soundtrack. But even in every way, it is a highlight.
ever wondered what an engelic hand that descends from the heights of heaven to touch your soul and invigorates it would feel like? This is how I feel when i listen to this lovely soundtrack. Tears cannot come from my eyes because I am shuddering all over and in blissful awe at the beauty that is this piece of music. Thank you a great deal for uploading this!!!
Gulliver's Travels and this are by far my two favorite made for tv movies. I got this one on DVD and just watched it again today for the first time in about 5 years. I forgot how great the music was
This came out when I was eight, in 1998, and it's always stayed with me, partially because we taped it off back when we all had VCR's. Got the DVD a year or two ago. Remember watching it on NBC and Dad telling me what the elves and dragons and fairies were.
I was so surprised when one day by chance I discovered that he'd actually made the score for most f my favourite movies of all time: Merlin, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and so many more! He's awesome
You still doing ok after all these years? This movie makes me think of my small children. My oldest son was just six or seven at the time. Now he is 31. Time does march on. Hope you are well.
I watch Merlin first in my childhood, cause' I fall in love with Heroes 3 and the fantasy stories. Then I watch Lord of the Rings at cimeme cause' it's remind me Merlin and Heroes 3. Then I was so full with love for fantasy stories, I started to write my own. I am adult now, but I write and publish my first fantasy novel last year. Thanks to these masterpieces.
Thank you so much for putting the last bit of 'The Walls are Whispering' into this! I absolutely love that part; I can really just imagine a court going about its business with that piece. This music is so beautiful!
nice nice i love these movies i will watch the tenth kingdom although i ve seen the magical legend of the leprechauns one of my favorite movies....plz tell me more movie like these 2 to watch ...
Trevor Jones performed magic on this score. Other fantastic scores: Cleopatra (Alex North), Doctor Zhivago (Maurice Jarre), Exodus (Ernest Gold), Never so Few (Hugo Friedhofer), and Les Baxter on everything he ever did!
I'm not familiar with too many other fantasy, B-rate movies like these two. If you like movies about the Celtic peoples, you might try "Kidnapped" with Armand Assante. "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" with Cillian Murphy is another good one about the partitioning of Ireland in 1921, though it has a lot of language.
man... thank you for uploading this. that merlin is soooooooooo sexy. everytime i hear this song i fantasize about him using magic to seduce me! lol. i bet he has spells to make his sword and stones gigantic!!!
awesome movie i love this movie i want to buy it but i was disapointed with merlins apprentice the second of this movie it did not follow up very well at all
It's not even close to similar in my ear...Trevor Jones' theme is much more sweeping and classically orchestrated. Jablonsky is from the Hans Zimmer school, and I think his style has that modern "pop"soundtrack style that are very common in movies these days.

I concur
When Nimway gets cut off from Merlin in the rock? It rips your heart out. But they get reunited.
It is one of the most closest adaptions to the actual legend ;)
The greatest Merlin version ever
I love this TV Movie. After so many years, I still frequent here to relive the memories of that mystical era.
The music is amazing! It actually conveys the emotional range of hopes, regrets and joy.
This was so awesome for a TV movie, I remember when this came out
"There's no more, that's the end of magic"
- Merlin
One of my fave soundtracks ever.....I couldnt beleive how amazing it was for a tv movie soundtrack. Its so epic and exhilirating. Gives me chills every time.
One of the best films i've ever seen. Great Soundtrack....*dreaming*

At 3:05 I can hear Queen Maab pronouncing, "This is Merlin. He has come to save us".
i love this music, i have it lossless quality

''They say that time flies when you are happy and well.. my childhood must have been very happy''
You still doing ok after all these years? This movie makes me think of my small children. My oldest son was just six or seven at the time. Now he is 31. Time does march on. Hope you are well.

Trevor Jones is great!
ya, not only his best, but the main theme is the best theme in cinema history (and yet it just was a tv movie)...
PERFECT!
Also look into the "The Odyssey" with Armand Assante. That was the first I had seen of these movies.
Thanks for putting this together.
goosebumps!
