    They like to be in their own group or community and one more thing I’ve realised staying abroad for so many years that we Indians are the most racist of all…
    We do body shaming, we call kaala gora not only each other also other non Indian people, then we try to show off the most regarding the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the position we hold, and the same mentality we’ve regarding what your kids are doing, when are they getting married etc…

They will switch to English if one white person is there But they all discriminate other Indians. I’m also suffering from this living in Canada.

      That is because your attitude is good. This woman's attitude is bad. She herself says that initially the Malayali nurses treated her very well and became friends with her and helped her. But this woman had problems when Malayali nurses speak with one another in Malayalam. She then went and picked a fight with one Malayalee nurse demanding that the Malayalee nurse should stop speaking in Malayalam with other Malayalees. Thereafter they treated her accordingly. And now she is playing the 'victim'. And she wants sympathy from Ytube viewers. She created the problem. Then goes and complains to the hospital management demanding that Malayalees should not speak among themselves in Malayalam. How childish is this woman? Will you ever find a South Indian going and complaining to Management what Bengalis should not speak in Bengali among their own group or Punjabis should stop using PUnjabi in their group? Then people wonder how South Indians nurses are preferred in hospitals worldwide and why they keep getting promoted. Because they focus on their work and are not busy making Ytube videos at workplace like this woman did [and was called to HR who told her to stop making videos at work].

    Love from the USA. I am a health care professional residing in the Washington DC area for over 35 years. I do agree with the statement about South Indians not willing to intermingle with other Indians especially from the North India. What I have learnt it to expand your circle and forget about limiting yourself to Indians. Currently, my best friends are Hispanic and White who would do anything for me. Very few Indians are worth trusting who are not jealous of your growth. It's sad that most Indians like to compare your "status" with themselves and either feel jealous or think you are not worth their friendship. So Ms. Jyoti, expand your circle and break the barriers of limiting yourself to Indians. You will be amazed to find how much common you may have with other cultures. All the best.

      @samanthamccormick1505 15 дней назад

      @@narendersinghchauhan1293 Thank you for clarifying. But this is exactly what others also do, right? For instance, Hindi speakers speak in Hindi totally disregarding South Indians present. Be it in the US, Canada, Dubai, Middle East, Australia...I have observed that Hindi speakers immediately break into HIndi. This has happened at work as well. During project meetings also I have seen Hindi speakers discussing project related stuff in Hindi, and loudly, even when non-Hindi speakers, Indian or foreign, are present. Hindi speakers take great offence when South Indians and especially Malayalees do that. But when Punjabis, Hindi speakers and Bengalis do that, Hindi people have absolutely zero problems. Why is it that HIndi speakers remember manners and etiquettes only when South Indians speak the South Indian language, but when Hindi speakers or PUnjabis/Bengalis etc do it, there is no lectures on etiquettes or manners given.
      Let me give you an example from this discussion board itself. Another person wrote the exact same thing as you did. That South Indians should have etiquettes to only speak common language. When in an English speaking country like UK, they should not speak with other malayalees in Malayalam, when HIndi speakers are around, but switch to English. So I replied to him narrating an incident I experienced in Toronto, Canada, where a cloth market that I visited had all Punjabi shopkeepers, and each shopkeeper had a north Indian style wooden cot with no mattress, kept in front of their shop. Many shops faced one another and many shop keepers lay on their cots, chatting and even loudly speaking to shopkeers several shops away. All were speaking in Punjabi unmindful of customers who were non Punjabis and whites. All shopkeepers were wearing north Indian salwar type dress. The entire place was untidy, with paper and stuff thrown about. Like a typical Indian town marketplace.
      So I asked that commenter, if his logic would also apply to these Punjabi Canadian shopkeepers. Would he also say that these shopkeepers should speak to one another in English and not in Punjabi or Hindi. Do you know what that commenter now replied? His TUNE changed. His logic changed. He suddenly turned all 'patriotic', blaming me for 'considering these PUnjabis as poor or doing low class jobs'. Blah blah blah. He totally deliberately ignored the point/question: 'Should the Punjabi shopkeepers in Canada, stop speaking in Punjabi when Non PUnjabi customers including White/Black Canadians are present around? No, when the tables are turned, the big philosophy speaking Hindi people, change their tune. Suddenly the narrative changes to 'North Indian workers are all hard working and patriotic...blah blah blah'. So without answering the question, he pretty much answered that Punjabis and Hindi speakers can speak their language, even when in foreign nations, and around people who do NOT understand that language. But South Indians should only speak English or Hindi. Do you get the sheer hypocrisy of Hindi speaker/ North Indians. Which is why many among us Malayalees have little respect for Hindi speaker/North Indians.

      @samanthamccormick1505 I appreciate your understanding of my mention. In my case, being an Indian my place of birth is AP, with my entire schooling in a few schools in different places in South India. Hence, since birth, I found all very accommodating towards me; plus, since everyone around knew that every language to me is a foreign language, they all spoke with me in English to the best of their ability. Briefly, I love the south of India and the affinity that people have towards their culture. I love it.
      Through this expression, I like to thank all my friends and teachers for all the love and affection they gave me; which indeed helped me throughout my life to the extent that most of S Indians from Karnataka, TN, Kerala and AP always felt near to me.
      In consequence, I am habituated more to carry on every conversation in English to ensure that each and every individual in the group gets my message. Even with N Indians, it seldom matters to me, I speak with them as long as they understand the language. But now I observe that even in North India, not everyone has a similar accumen of understanding of Hindi; hence, English for a versatile/vast nation like India holds best.
      My brief message remains that while in profession, professional skills matter most, and in socialising mutual respect towards the differences aids in bridging the bonds. Life is small if thoughts are sweet; otherwise, it's pretty long and tiresome.

      lol is that why North Indians surrendered in front of every invader in History? Was that because South Indians are scared or because Hindiwallahs are cowards? Do you know how far and wide the cholas and other South Indian kings ruled - modern day Indonesia,Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Thailand, Burma, sri Lanka etc. With North Indians it is the other way round. INvaders from far and wide came and defeated north Indians. Don't forget that.
