    I love that you compared the monofins as opposed to doing individual reviews! I'm looking for my first monofin and there are so many options so you've definitely helped me rule some out, I'll be sure to watch the other one next :D

      Thank you for watching! I'm SO glad you found it helpful; that really is my goal with these videos. You'll have to let me know which monofin you ultimately decide on! 😊

      Hi Kelpie! I have narrowed my monofin of choice down to two options: the Linden and the Lucia. I just have one question about the Lucia, I watched Courtney's review and she said it was for more of a narrow foot so I was wondering if you could shed some light on the fit of the fin in that aspect. Thank you for any help you can offer :)

      @@avabanks5084 I didn't notice any discomfort at all with the Lucia, but my feet are long and narrow (we call them skis 😂) so that might be why. If that's a concern for you, you could get some neoprene socks ahead of time to protect your feet? To be fair, I've never used a Linden myself but have only heard good things about it!

    I actually found the Fish Fin to have a lot of push when I got to try it from someone who had one, and I've swam in both a Mahina and a Linden! I found it quite Nyoomy and Nimble!

    this was such an absolutely amazing review, i adore how honest you were with the pros and cons of each tail, and how in depth you went in explaining them :)

    Love this comparison. I just got the Lucia and I don’t really find it to be a slow monofin. But can only really compare it to the Linden. At first I noticed it being slower but as a learned a slightly different technique with it I can still zoom around in it. I swim in the ocean in Hawaii in mine and find it to be fully capable of that.

    Funny, for me the Mahina is really comfy, i have slight marks after wearing it but it doesnt hurt at all. If you want to decide which is better for you, I would definitly try out some monofins because it really depends on foot shape

    @kelpiedreams thanks for the comparison, you are not the only one that got cut up by the mahina, I have to use my dive socks with it too. Had some bad marks on my feet for awhile after one performance. Any suggestions with buying lucia silicone tail vs mertailor one? I know the lucia is a thin silicone but also way cheaper, but mertailor is well known quality

    This is a terrific comparison video! Can I ask what size feet you have? Is the discomfort in the Mahina related to that, do you think? 🤔 I have large feet.

      @@kelpiedreams Yeah I'm a 9.5 triple wide and my feet are pretty tall too. Based on this information I'm glad I didn't try to order the Mahina before. I JUST got the Luna and it's so comfortable!! My only other monofin is the Finfun Elite and that one is so tight, can't wear it for long.

    The Mahina looks so unstable to swim with, its wiggling all over the place :S I much prefer the Lucia but I havent tried any of them. Was thinking of buying Lucia. It looks so natural, not too soft and flimsy, and not too stiff. So beautiful

    • @kelpiedreams
      @kelpiedreams  2 года назад +1

      it's not unstable at all - if it was I would have said so! It's actually very dexterous, as in, it is STABLE enough that I can execute really tight maneuvers. The Lucia is pretty to watch though! I actually saw someone cut her Lucia to fit a Mertailor F1 skin and it worked really well.

    • @Tallulahmermaid
      @Tallulahmermaid 7 месяцев назад

      It's also 4 inches thick around the feet and almost an inch thick at the tips so it's not that wiggly

    I've been planning to get a Mahina but I'm concerned about the sizing accuracy and fitting. For reference, I have a Women's US 5 shoe size. The adult monofin's smallest is at US 6-8; but the kid/junior monofin's largest is exactly US 5.
    Is a size-up necessary for a better, comfier fit or do I stick with my real foot size? Either way, I'll be wearing 3mm neoprene socks with it.

    • @labaccident2010
      @labaccident2010 3 месяца назад

      Size up, the socks will take up some of the extra space

      @@trbrm6319 yep! Personally I WANT those sinky-fins as I’m so positively buoyant that adding a fin that floats causes problems, so a negatively buoyant fin helps counteract that for me!
