It's a bunch of the little things that make life worth living, not anything in particular but every little thing that contributes to making life pleasurable... The World Series is one of those little things where we get to find out what the best baseball team in a year is, for some of us that is a little but important part of our lives.
@Christopher Bingham Did you not see this movie ? There wasn't anyone that didn't want to watch the World Series. Either they wanted to or didn't care. The scene above is where the nurse makes Murphy go looking for votes from people who didn't care what was on tv and in fact couldn't even understand what they would be voting on. Think about that. And you should wonder why the nurse is doing such an unreasonable thing.

Jack's acting is beyond the regular applause's here. Everyone knows that. One of the many classic scenes of this movie. But the way Louise Fletcher beads her eyes into something sadistic and satanic, also deserves a mention. She already has piercing eyes by nature, but the way she makes that stare is.. just combination of physical skill and extraordinarily good acting. Cheers for Jack's and Louise's Academy Awards from the the time before I was born!
It adds an unintentional sense of realism to the scene imo. Because it's common to make those kind of mistakes when you're mad and talking out of frustration

Delos V. Smith Jr. (Scanlon) (1906-1997).
Josip Elic (Bancini)(1921-2019).
Ted Markland (Hap Arlich)(1933-2011).
This scene and acting is legendary
He took them to a place that they’ll never forget
Jack's acting is beyond the regular applause's here. Everyone knows that. One of the many classic scenes of this movie.
But the way Louise Fletcher beads her eyes into something sadistic and satanic, also deserves a mention. She already has piercing eyes by nature, but the way she makes that stare is.. just combination of physical skill and extraordinarily good acting.
Cheers for Jack's and Louise's Academy Awards from the the time before I was born!
One of the best movies of all time. Made Jack what he is today
So many amazing touching scenes...and not one single special effect...The 70's...cinemas last great decade..
Nope, cinemas last decade was early 2000s more or less
One of the most beautiful movies ever made.
The Chief raised his hand! HOOWWW!!!
LOL 😲🤣
Please Hollywood don’t ever remake this masterpiece just watch the original
You gonna pull that hen-house shit now?
What a close to that scene - pure genius.
Hats off to the script-writer.
You can put a human body behind walls and bars, but you can never chain the human spirit.
love how he says 10 to 9 instead of 10 to 8 at 2:42
It adds an unintentional sense of realism to the scene imo. Because it's common to make those kind of mistakes when you're mad and talking out of frustration
I wonder if that was intentional
This scene is my favourite scene of the movie and one of the most moving scene .
I was teary eyed and proud when i saw that scene .
Jack is 👌👌👌👌👌
I watched this movie in my early 20’s. I’m 37 and seeing it again is a whole other experience.
I just watched it, I'm 22.
I was laughing so hard in class when Mac goes somebody get me a fucking wiener. Anybody else?
sean morrissey I laugh everytime I'm with you brother
I WAS IN THE MENTAL INSTITUTION THIS YEAR AT THE HOSPITAL ECMC (FOR ALCOHOL DETOX WHILE WAITING FOR REHAB) AND THERE WAS ONE TV AND I WANTED TO WATCH THE MASTERS (GOLF) AND I LOST THE VOTE TO THE CHANNEL BET. GODDAMN THIS MOVIE MAKES MORE SENSE TO ME NOW THAN IT EVER DID.....WHAT IS INSANE MAN OR THE INSTITUTION?
Brian, I was placed there 4 times in my life, and I can tell you and everyone else that this is EXACTLY what goes on in every one of those places, from New York to Georgia to Florida. If you care about people you will NEVER put them in such a place. They will be FAR more likely to commit suicide after experiencing being treated like dirt, like a non-human being, by people that become totalitarian when they are given the chance to rule dictatorially! I am not kidding. At least they no longer perform labotomies, but I had to fight to prevent them from giving me shock treatments.
She is so evil, but my tears always flow during his superb acting. Put this one into a time capsule!
one of the great confrontation scenes in the film....nurse ratched v mcmurphy...powerful stuff...uplifting.
2:02 bah ha ha, that'd be me if I won the lottery 😆
