Here's a question I get alot!
Why do you spend so much money on your playing card collection and why do you buy so many of the same ones?!
Well, I tried to break down my obsession with cards in this video. It falls in to a few categories, like collecting them, buying cards as an investment, cardistry, casual everyday carry and of course to do magic!

I tend to use more basic cards for magic (like you) and then just keep my fancier cards or more extravagant decks at home and only use them for friends and family. Great video Chris keep it up man you're an inspiration!

No Joke, sports direct, they're low quality, so it doesn't matter if they get damaged and their thick so they fly far !
Dude i started collecting cards like 6 months ago. I have always loved and been easily entertained by playing cards since i was a kid playing WAR with my sister and brother but only recently have i truly been able to appreciate some of these beautiful artworks that have been recently made everything different from the number font style to the beautiful backing of each unique deck. I just recently bought a pair of Royal Reserve from eBay. I mostly get my stuff from ellusionist I'm trying to find different sources theory11 has some pretty good products I've just been always more drawn to ellusionist I'm not sure why. But you have definitely convinced me to become more serious with my collecting and I think I'll be investing more because of you. So thank you Chris I appreciate your videos. By the way I also subscribed.

Bayan Aljaleel For magic? you can just use paper. They handle better and are more accessible and cheaper than plastic decks.

Hey KoNe, just grab the first card with your middle finger like you would to do a one-hand closure of the fan and pop it out. At least that is the way I do it :)

I actually love love love playing cards but you know something ? you are very lucky to live and born in your free and awesome country .because in my country playing card (buy - play or sell) is illegal !!!!!!!!! because gambling is illegal but they have no idea what can do whit playing card beyond gambling .so u are so lucky man. in here if I want to buy a standard bicycle I have to take a dangerous risk and spend about 100 us dollar. so I love but I hardly can get one.... :) I have 5 playing card. no fancy one because I just can't get one in here! I even once try to buy from Amazon and as soon as they arrive in the country they destroy is and call me to judge !!!!!!!! so every day you look at your card think about it how lucky you are or how unlucky someone like me that love magic and playing card but just can't get one. peace up bro.

I've always wanted to collect something, and after years of on and off attempts, I've finally realized my potential calling: playing cards! I already have a few unusual ones, though their value is very low, I still think it's cool to have decks with interesting patterns and designs. So researching a bit on RUclips has inspired me to really try collecting. I don't plan on getting expensive ones to sell or have high monetary value with, I just think it's cool :3

I just recently got into kickstart after watching one of your videos about the difference between a $3 deck and a $200 deck. Turns out I bought a deck for $20 a year ago that sells on Amazon for $199. Funded three decks so far since then. Thanks for the videos.

I read all these comments because it makes me feel better there are people like me...I am definitely obsessed with playing cards, the history, the look, but mainly it's a tactile thing for me, I love how cards feel in my hands. Over the years I have had favorites but its always changing. Btw the whispering imps were my go to deck for years, they handle so well...I used to get them for 8 dollars! lol.

I like the accessory standpoint on cards. Since I plan to wear mostly black as my style in the future I'm trying to find a nice semi formal style of deck to match.
I don't even do magic or anything, but I still get your obsession, they are just too cool!
I have a basic 2€ deck for my cardistry and flourishes and because I'm a beginner they're oldness helps. But I really love to buy amazing looking cards. I buy cards for cheap but that look amazing. For example I now have a deck of da Vincis paintings and a deck of 50's ad's. Cards and amazing cardistry just gives me a warm feeling and inspiration to learn.

I love ur vids man. I’m thirteen and I’ve been doing magic for about two years, and recently started cartistry. I got the new FW17 Virtuoso deck, and I’ve been searching for a good ss13 for a price that isn’t too insane. Sadly, this is a more difficult task than I thought ☹️😞. I too have a card collection, but I have no where near as many cards as you. You inspire me to do great things, and entertain. You are definitely my favorite magician, and keep up the great work!
Ps- Can you link some of the cards so I can take a look at some if they aren’t to expensive? I don’t want to spend $200 on a single deck of cards.
