Great little box. Has its own unique sound. Very snappy. I love the snare on this thing. I also love the poppy attack you can get with the bassdrum as demonstrated in this video.

Sounds similar to Andy Stott's drum's in the second half, nice.

Love this thing. Does yours have a big DC offset / distortion on every individual output (but not the claps and not the main output)?

yes for the offset/latency, but no distortion on my unit.
It was apparently fixed in a firmware update but unfortunately, to update it you had to send it to MFB, and I'm not sure they are still offering this. Maybe they do tho, I'll email them someday

@@LouisSerieusement I wouldn’t count on repairs from them. Even before Manfred passed away, it was a bit tough to get proper support

@@LouisSerieusement re: the offsets, thx for confirming - I’m going to install some high value capacitors to fix the offset myself

@@SoonComeSound ah thanks ! I did have to deal with them in January 2021, they did an incredible job, fixing my dead tanzmaus for 50bucks in one month, but I'm in France.
      They wouldn't share schematics tho.
I believe the problem was, the 522 firmware is missing the first midi tic, hence the small latency/offset.
If you do find how to fix this hardware wise, I'll be very very grateful if you share it to me :D

@@LouisSerieusement ohhh, I think something is lost in translation here. I don’t mean latency, I mean DC offset like a level shift in the voltage at the individual outputs - it causes distortion because the audio is not centered around 0V properly. The latency issue, I’m not sure about…

Thanks for the demo! nice sound. Do you know if the sounds parameters are controllable via midi CC?

How do you get such a fat sound out of straight tracking this? Is it clipping going into your daw? Are you compressing it or putting anything on the final master?

I remember that I recorded it with just a zoom 2 track digital recorder. Zoom h2? And then I synchronized audio with the video. That’s all. There is no audio modification.
