A viewer told me that my "audio" and "presentation" are "terrible." If anyone can give me some more specific insight/recommendations I'd be grateful. Please let me know if my newest videos are getting better or not as well.

Wind noise causing mic to clip, and audio track added at end is over driving the input causing clipping and distortion. Having said that, none of it bothered me. I'm not expecting professional level editing on youtube for someone's dirt bike ride. People need to lighten up. Everyone is a critic behind a keyboard.

@@gettingpast4391 I think it comes from the number of individuals who upload free content that is professional quality. The number of motorcycle riders who happen to have film and video editing experience is growing. Clearly I'm not one of them, but I'm trying to learn. Thanks for watching!

Do what you love and do the best you can with what you have to work with. It’s all about the dual sport family. Stay Kool and ride on!

best dual sport ever made. I bought one in 1998 when I got my motorcycle endorsement and put many miles on it. Life got in the way as it tends to do, I lost interest and sold it. Over the years I always had it in the back of my mind and knew id want another one someday.Long story short I actually found a 1994 Honda 250L just like my old one. Its in flawless shape with only 4500 miles. I have noticed they became VERY rare these past 20 years, as it took me a while to locate one in decent shape. I will hold onto this one until my last day on this earth.

I love my 250l so far. It will climb really steep and muddy hills. Perfect for someone who can't handle a 300 to 400 pound behemoth. I think it will make an awesome short range adv bike.

I may not know much about motorcycles but I bought a 1994 XR250L 2 months ago with only 2,600 miles on it since I've never owned a motorcycle before that it just feels like the most powerful thing in the world I got it up to 80 miles an hour I feel like I can take on the world. But your experience on the XR650L intrigues me May considered that as my second bike.

They are both pretty slow bikes, but they are great off the road. I keep the 250 around for other people to use because nobody I know wants to buy a dual sport. If you are just getting into riding, you should decide what kind of riding you will be doing most often and buy the bike best suited to that riding. If you commute around town and never need freeway speed, then a 250 or a 650L would work great. If you want something that can "do it all," but isn't too great off road, then maybe a Royal enfield or a KLR 650 would be better. Heck, maybe just go straight onto a road bike if you never get off the street. I prefer vintage bikes and dual sports myself. You can put a lot of gas in your 250L for the price of virtually any new bike.

What speed can you cruise at in the highway? Have you done longer trips in it? How does it behave? Thanks!

The 250L can do about 60 hiway, unless you start pulling a steep hill. Then your weight is a big factor. I haven't done any trips longer than 100mi or so. My 250 has an issue where if flames out randomly and bogs at low RPM. I have had the carb off 3 times and cant get it figured out

The new bike sounds great, very nice of you to get it for your dad, that would be a good video, of father son ride. A walk around of the bike would be neat to see. I hope the weather breaks so you can get out. Torture Test has a great video on the XR250.
I always liked going from a heavier bike to a lighter bike. You felt like you could really fly. I had been waiting to see the new bike. Thanks for posting. BTW ... What did you pay for it?

I have more mods to do to the 650, but when I'm done with that I will get walk-around and review footage of both bikes.
Lol I paid $2k for it. The most expensive one in Oregon.

Hey Megakoolguy650, I was looking at the picture that you posted, and the speedometer on your XR250 looks a lot like the Speedometer on the XR650L. Since you have both bikes, does it look like they are close enough to the same to where I could adapt a XR250 speedometer to my other XR650L that I am going to sell?? The Reason I ask there is about a huge price difference between the to units on ebay?? They even sell a new one (In Kilometers) for 23. bucks? But I would get a used factory one. From the ebay pictures I think it will work?? What do you think? Nice bike your XR250 You lit a fire for me to get working on my 1991 Suzuki RMX250 2 smoker, and ride that again. It's been a year and a half since I rode the The RMX. It still sports the Oregon off road decal.Thank You for your help.

I don't see why you couldn't swap it over. The mounting looks very similar. Cable size looks very similar as well. It may very well be the same unit. At the very least probably should be possible to adapt a 250L Speedo for the 650L.
I bet that rmx is a beast compared to my mellow little 4 stroke. I do very much like riding a smaller bike. Lack of torque and short powerband is weird when compardd to the 650l. Balancing is much easier being so much shorter and lighter though.

    a scooter... really?

    • @Megakoolguy357
      @Megakoolguy357  3 года назад

Yeah. The 650L is a chonkers machine. It's about 100 pounds heavier and significantly taller than the 250. In terms of power...eh the 250 gets along well enough. It's certainly faster than your average scooter. The suspension is great too. The height, weight and stock ergonomics make it feel like a scooter in comparison to the big bike. Watch my 650l at an OHV park and you'll see what I mean lol.
