omg thank you so much for the upload, jammin104! I was looking all over for this footage. I love this version of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 Movement 2 with vocal, piano, and cello...
Heavenly... beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Thankyou for sharing this video. I love how they close their eyes and just 'speak' with each other in the moment. Effortless, like a flower opening.
Wow... This video totally blows me away... Such great music advice... I also take the same principles as the cornerstone to why I personally enjoy the cello.
this is the first video i have ever seen both Yo Yo Ma and Bobby Mcferrin in. It led me to love Yo Yo Ma's music. Then much later i came back to it again and now i also love Bobby's music. This one video has opened many woProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control:
I love Yo-Yo! He is one of my favorite cellists and definitely my foremost inspiration for playing! Bobby McFerrin is just plain awesome. It's also way cool to see Mark O'Connor and Edgar Meyer playing with Yo-Yo and Bobby on the Mockingbird song.
blackbelt19906- the first song is from the 2nd movement from Beethoven's 7th symphony. Incredible piece of music, if you are interested. (includes some really great french horn parts, too) I had the great luck of taking part in a master class with Mr. Mcferrin when he was the music director of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra several years ago. He is an incredible musician- the way he feels and thinks and breaths music- it was truly an amazing experience to learn from him.
I've met both of these amazing men! Bobby McFerrin rehearsed our rehearsal, and Yo-yo Ma came to my city and I got to meet him being a string player. =)
i played in his sisters orchestra and i know that yeou cheng is very proud of yo yo...im sure that yo yo still maintains a good relationship with his sister they are both great people...he also went to my concert a few years ago so im pretty sure that they are still close
This is why non musicians love Yo-Yo as well, he is so humble and open to "crossovers", I think all classical musicians should take note and be open to all genres!
I love his... I dunno... his everything, really, I guess. I have a Chinese-American friend who plays cello, and thought he was amazing... I mean, he is, but Yo-Yo Ma... is... incredible. Makes me wish I played Cello even more than I did before now.
I play the Viola, but then when I start to play it really good, I just might learn Cello to. You know, you have to master one instrument before you begin another.
@temperheaded1 The compositor is Beethoven. The song is : Allegretto Symphony No.7 2nd mov The version in the video with yo-yo ma and bobby is near impossible to find.
When you get to this level of playing instruments, you don't need to look at which note you're hitting on anymore...(yo-yo-ma closes his eye through whole performance).
@anisometropie You gotta think what a theory genius she must be to not only work with those musicians, but to be able to conduct and compose their ensemble
he only does it in hush little baby and i think it's because he has to switch between pizzicato and bow so fast and it's easier there. and you also have better control over the bow.
Well, best cello player ever can be very debatable, after all, there is always Pablo Casals inventing the thumb position, and Rostropovich playing a truly wonderful Bach Cello Suite. But of course, he is wonderful on the Cello as he is kind.
Don't think Casals invented thumb position, great he was. I think Boccherini concertos requite it, so thumb position was already a thing in Baroque times.
Wow it's beautiful ! Especially the first part Does anyone know ehre to find that arrangment of the IImvt. 7th symphony for piano and cello ???? ..Does even exists D:?
The beginning piece is awesome (Beethoven's 7th, II mvt.). Were they just messing around, or is there actually a recording of the full movement somewhere (in this arrangement)?

YoYoMa you are the Master of the Cello. Bravo
good stuff, I am a fan of yoyo ma's as well. Nothing makes me more happy than seeing awesome musicians having fun making beautiful music together.
Heavenly... beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Thankyou for sharing this video. I love how they close their eyes and just 'speak' with each other in the moment. Effortless, like a flower opening.
some of the best advice and wisdom for any body, especially musicians.....both Yo Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin are geniuses!

Happy to be alive this new and listening to Yo Yo Ma and Bobby. Self is alive and well to share this with all for you.
Oh! I saw McFerrin perform last night!!!!!
It was so much fun!!!!!
What words of inspiration. You can really tell that he means it too as you watch his relaxed but energetic performances.
What a brilliant thing:
When you are performing, mistakes don't matter. Everything is OK.
Very cool.

I'm in love with Bobby's voice!
..I wish there was a version of the beethoven's 7th symphony with just a piano, cello and Bobby's voice
It's always the sparles stimulated among the musicians that I love~~~~I'm proud of Yo Yo Ma~~~~~
He was so young then...
Yo-Yo Ma is such a fantastically talented cellist, and Bobby is just...Bobby ;D
I've met both of these amazing men! Bobby McFerrin rehearsed our rehearsal, and Yo-yo Ma came to my city and I got to meet him being a string player. =)

i played in his sisters orchestra and i know that yeou cheng is very proud of yo yo...im sure that yo yo still maintains a good relationship with his sister they are both great people...he also went to my concert a few years ago so im pretty sure that they are still close
it seems like they are having so much fun.... I am mixed with jealousy and admiration.
excellent! it is not about proving something but SHARING something! Well said.
This is why non musicians love Yo-Yo as well, he is so humble and open to "crossovers", I think all classical musicians should take note and be open to all genres!

I love his... I dunno... his everything, really, I guess.
I have a Chinese-American friend who plays cello, and thought he was amazing... I mean, he is, but Yo-Yo Ma... is... incredible.
Makes me wish I played Cello even more than I did before now.
he is extremely precise with his fingers !
dunno why but this just gives me goosebumps
I play the Viola, but then when I start to play it really good, I just might learn Cello to. You know, you have to master one instrument before you begin another.
wow he's so good i'm too intimidated to even desire learning the cello, but then, the music's so beautiful I still want to ^_^
Whenever I go through a down time on my Bass, where I feel like I suck, I look to vituosos for encouragement.
This video sure helped alot.
@temperheaded1 The compositor is Beethoven. The song is : Allegretto Symphony No.7 2nd mov
The version in the video with yo-yo ma and bobby is near impossible to find.
It depends on the person who plays it. Your physical skills and mental skills will determinate what instrument is better for you.
Genious full of HEART!
just by watching a video on my computer of him, bobby touches my soul
I like the way he talks.
That's pretty much the same with me and piano.
When you get to this level of playing instruments, you don't need to look at which note you're hitting on anymore...(yo-yo-ma closes his eye through whole performance).
Excellent!
Thanks for the video. This is really special
thats the music from the fall i love that movie
I play viola but hearing his cello makes me wish i could play it.
That is the Allegretto theme from Beethoven's 7th Symphony, most famously known as the "funeral march".
It is movement 2.
@anisometropie You gotta think what a theory genius she must be to not only work with those musicians, but to be able to conduct and compose their ensemble

and you also have better control over the bow.
the language of music is international(:
