  • In this weeks video I will explain "What is Biological and Mechanical Filtration?” In its most simplest terms. #filtration
    A lot of new fish keeping hobbyist make the mistake of not knowing anything about Biological or Mechanical filtration and make the same mistakes I made when I first started. Not understanding the Nitrogen Cycle and having their tanks crash because of not cycling the tanks properly. I hope this will help.
    Don't forget to also follow me on Instagram @rauls_aquatics_and_reptiles
    Remember I got into this fish keeping hobby because it helps me with my battle against Depression and Anxiety. Thank you to those who continue to tune in every week and show support. I really do appreciate it. GOD BLESS and remember GOD is always in control!

      @@RaulsAquaticsandReptiles yeah feel free to hit me up on instagram or FB messenger any time. The long and the short of it is not everyone is going to like you. As i talked in Robs livestream- how you act as a person of color is VERY important. I'm trying to open doors that never been opened before. People are looking for retaliation, they are looking for drama and a show just so they can say- "Look see i told you how them people act". Not me- not ever. You not gonna trick me and get me to act out of character and ruin years of work and progress in a hobby that at one time wouldnt accept me based on the color of my skin... No. People may call you soft or scared- but the truth is I'm far from any of that- I just know some battles aren't worth my time and that was one of them. I wish you luck and success moving forward with your channel

      Oh about the biological media for cycling a new tank, the biological media needs to be kept in a well aired water. Without water, they'll die. Just a heads up. 😄

    What is that diffuser/air stone thing you have in the first tank?

    • @RaulsAquaticsandReptiles
      @RaulsAquaticsandReptiles  4 года назад +1

      The first tank is my 29 Gallon Puffer tank. It’s being Filtered by a Fluval 50 HOB and to the left is a Sponge filter with an air stone inside of the sponge creating more bubbles.
      Thank you for stopping by. Appreciate it 👍

    If your sponges/bio rings dry out, doesn’t the beneficial bacteria die?

    • @RaulsAquaticsandReptiles

      You’re absolutely correct 💯 Error on my part for the incorrect information. It’s recommended to keep the sponges in some water.
