I first saw Freebo with a very young Bonnie Raitt at the 1970 Philly Folk Fest. Saw Deke at the Rockbilly Rumble in Wilmington, DE. Never saw Chris live, but I did see one of his brothers at the Main Point.
An old-timey slice of where I was in July 1995, working to purchase my own first electric guitar and taking a puff on a co-worker's cigarette. There and then, I decided that smoking, drinking and all other drugs were off the table for me.
It's early Sunday morning here in Oz and what a great way to start the day . Great delivery of a great song ! Thanks once again for making this possible Norm !
That was really nice. I just saw Deke’s post on a cache of Mosrite history he has retrieved from TX yesterday. Some wonderful info in there. Guitars on loan to Jimmy Bryant, James Burton, and Clarence White, among other notables. A contract for someone named Glen Campbell.. He and Chris are super knowledgeable and talented musicians, and they are keeping our country rock-a-billy and Western swing roots alive.
Haven’t heard that song in ages. I think the Scruggs family are the first original musicians of America, even their critters play music, their Holstein invented the Cowbell 😂
That Chris Scruggs guy is a damn fine guitar player. 🤩 I figure everyone knows Deke by now, he's great. Add Freebo into the mix and you've got a killer trio. I only wish I could have been in the room when these guys were playing. It must have been amazing.
#NRGFREEBOOK . Chris is always a musical. delight and Deke has put a musical smilei in my ears for decades. Norm I enjoy seeing and hearing great vintage guitars, I really like Michael's playing. Please keep them coming. Thanks!
Oh heck yeah, that was great. Norm you need to have more jams like this on a weekly basis man. We’d definitely tune in for these. Just throw some killer musicians in the living room and just jam for a few songs. We love it. You know everyone in the business, I mean they all show up to get medium rare guitars lol. Cool video.
Chris Scruggs is a humble monster of a musician, watch out!
Have you seen him singing "Blue Moon of Kentucky" with Marty Stuart? Not only a great musician, but he has a major set of pipes.
Oh yea. Major set of pipes.@@artheriford
He's just a total legend .
This Chris Scruggs fella is a fantastic player... nicely done, guys !
He's also a walking Encyclopedia of Country and Bluegrass facts/history 👌
Earl's grandson.
on virtually every instrument.
Great Combo. Kenny Vaughan says that Chris is the best Guitar Player in the Fabulous Superlatives. High Praise!
Right? Kenny would know.
Kenny talking about the bass player in the band he plays guitar in ,,
says it all ,,
Norm is right. Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives are the best live act I’ve ever seen. By a mile.
They are damn good. Just saw them for the first time this past weekend. Wow!
Norm's medium rare guitars.
Cookin', smokin'
Deke is so underrated!
Chris Scruggs is a beast! Best player in any room that also plays bass, drums, and steel.

2 of my favorite guitarists! And Freebo holding it down!
⚓️ Thanks Jen 🎶 Deke 😎 Chris 🌈 Freebo ♦️ NORM!!! 🎸

They remind me of “Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen” back in the early 70s SF Bay Area.

"I'm just used,," "Can I get one that's just medium rare?" Stop it, stop it, you're killing me! Great stuff thanks fellas!
Good to see Chris play lead. In a way, he is held back by playing bass with Marty. Love his steel guitar playing.

Could someone tell me the exact model of the Gibson on the left? 🤟🏼
Does anyone know what genre of music this falls into? Im not a big music guy, but this really caught my attention! Thank you!
texas swing
Merle Travis would be proud!
Django lives! 😊
Marty and crew, closest ensemble to the Byrds today, ‘specially when Jim sits in.
Chris master musician stand up bass, electric bass, guitar, steel guitar etc..
etc to include spectacular vocal prowess as well as historian.
With Marty & FS the public is only seeing a very small portion of Chris's talent.@@tjinnertube
#NRG Freebook that's what I'm talking about, hotter than southern fried chicken!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌❤😎
Scruggs makes that 400 just sing!
Wow!! Now, I'll never do that song again.
Can't help but seeing a stovetop hat on the middle dude in the beginning
I saw the same thing
Fabulous Superlative what else is there to say?
Chris Scruggs is a bad man.
Tobacco companies should take up this song, however they are not allowed to advertise.
This song is sarcasm, not encouragement.
Didn’t recognize Freebo without that head of hair
Chris was genetically engineered to do this.
Sounds like boy named sue
