Just build it in to the bbq like other brands are doing.

Thanks for the feedback. Due to the demand for a retrofittable model our team developed the Flame iQ for the best solution.

The features look good but it is bulky plus the price and needing a separate power supply via a cable is annoying.
For me a simple, smaller AAA battery solution at half price or less to just cut gas flow if blow out to make legal for caravan bayonet fitting would've been preferable as already have spent serious $ on the Weber and accessories.

Is there a similar product coming for the Q2000/2200?

Hi Nick, the initial demand was for the Classic Baby Q as most caravan owners have a model from this series. We're looking at opportunities to expand the Flame iQ offering to suit other models, so thanks for indicating your interest for a version for the 2000/2200's

I wonder if this will become available in the US.

Hi there, as this product was developed specifically to suit Australian/NZ gas regulations, it's only available in this market at this time. Best to reach out to our US counterparts to let them know you're interested.

Price?? Can they also be fitted to the Q200?

Hi! this retails for $199.95au and is compatible with Classic 2nd Generation Baby Q models (Q1000 and Q1200). If you have a Q200 this product is not compatible with the Flame iQ however as this model barbecue was manufactured before the gas regulations were changed, it wouldn't be required in that instance.

We actually have a Q2200. Can the unit be retrofitted to a Q2200?...@@WeberBBQAusNZ

This unit is specifically designed for the Classic 2nd Generation Baby Q (1000 & 1200) series only at this time. Other versions for other Weber barbecue models are being investigated so that's for letting us know you're interested!

Another $200 dollars on my mounting cost of buying the BabyQ1200 adding this brings my cost to just under $1000 with the plates you have to buy and all the other bits and pieces. No does not include a stand.
How is it convenient when you will need to add a 12v supply or a 240V supply? I believe the Ziggy does not need extra power.
Do you really need reignite and time limit features what if I want to slow smoke a pork that will take over 8 hrs ?
Webber also claim that the legislation is not retrospective so you only need this if you buy a new Webber.

Hi there! Addressing feedback from Baby Q owners, we have created a solution that addressed the regulation changes and the desire for a retrofittable device, whilst also ensuring your food is cooked to perfection, even if you do experience a 'flame out'. We advise that those who are using their Baby Q connected to a bayonet fitting on a caravan or boat confirm if they require a flame safety device via the label on their barbecue. Many caravans do operate with a 12V power supply which is why we included both a 12V and 240V cable to suit your needs.

Seriously Weber an extra $200 and it’s not much more than over engineered price gouging. Your BBQs are great but for what they are they are extornist in pricing. Now you have built this bolt on which for the everyday caravaner is just a waste of money. Why the heck do you want it powered when other brands don’t need it.
C’mon guys you can do a lot better….

Hey! Thanks for your feedback. The unit size is specifically made to house number of components needed for all of the additional features and benefits of the Flame iQ. It also doesn't extend past the frame or footprint of the barbecue itself, so won't take up any more space than the Q1000 or Q1200.
This product was designed with a simple set-up, one button on/off and indicator lights to help you know what's happening within your barbecue at a glance. We also include comprehensive installation instructions to streamline that process too. Hope that helps!
