    Very useful video for a very easy to use device. Well done.
    Just as an added note. If you overlay 2 times the unit won't activate. I.e.
    06:00 on 22'C
    22:00 off 16'C
    22:00 on 16'C
    06:00 off 16'C
    You must separate the times.

    Really dreadful that companies are fitting these extremely complicated gadgets by default. Educated people cannot understand how to use them, so how do we expect the elderly to keep warm when fitting something like this? Video is much better than the manual but nobody explains what the separate M and the M/A buttons do adjacent to the boiler. I want my old, easy-to-use boiler back!

      In addition to what you have said...the smaller buttons and slider are difficult to manipulate when you are older and have thicker fingers with less dexterity of movement. Please, please...can the designers and manufacturers start taking account of this for their older and/ or partially disabled customers customers.

    Thanks so much for posting this video. Even as a tech-savy, person I really struggled to use this thermostat as the instruction manual is terrible. It doesn't help that the buttons and slider are poorly designed for anyone with wide fingers.
    Essentially, all I want is for a constant temperature of 23 degrees to be maintained between two separate four hour periods in a day -- i.e., from 5:00am till 900am, and between 17:00 till 21:00 at night. Outside of those two four-hour periods, I don't need the heating on. How would I go about setting this using the P1,P2,P3,P4 settings? Thanks in advance for your help!

    • @Heatable
      @Heatable  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Heatable Thanks for your reply!. At the moment, I am still tentatively using the mannual setting on 23 degrees, and then just turn it down to 5 degrees after four hours. In the video around the 6:50 mark you briefly mentioned that using manual mode all the time isn't the most cost effective way of running it. Could you please explain why? I find manual mode much easier to use and would like to know if using the programming cycles is more energy efficient.Thanks

    I've read on the manual that the set back temperature should be set to 16 ºC in case I want the heating off. But I can't find how to set this? Does this just mean to manually press the - button until it's at 16 ºC?

    • @choir74
      @choir74 Год назад +3

      The setback temperature (used in Auto mode) is the P2 and the P4 setting. Setback simply means that rather than turning the heating off while out or asleep, maintain instead a lower (setback) temperature, in order to keep the house structure warm. Typically, used in older, poorly insulated houses (such as mine) to keep the house structure from getting too cold during those periods.That way, when the heating turns to the higher setting (the P1 and the P3 settings), heat is used to heat the room and you, not the walls, which have been kept warm by the setback temperature. I use this in my 100+ year old house and it keeps me more comfortable.
      If you don't want or need to use this feature, just set the setback temperature (the P2 and the P4 settings) to a lower figure, so that the heating does not need to come on.
      If you decide to go to bed early, and therefore do not need to keep heating at your higher temperature, this is when (in Auto mode) you press the - button to set the temperature to a lower one. The programmer will use that manual setting until the next programmed setting, when it will revert to Auto mode. Similarly, if you arrive home early, simply tap the + button to your required higher temperature and the system uses that setting until the next programmed event.
      Setback is not used in manual mode (when the slide switch is in MAN mode) since you always set the temperature. You could of course set it manually to 16 degrees.
      If you want to turn the heating off (fully off, for the summer), set the slide switch under the cover to OFF. My understanding of the instructions is that by default, this sets the system to FROST setting, which would only turn the heating on if the temperature drops to the pre-set frost temperature.

    The boiler does not respond to the thermostat, what to do?

    • @Heatable
      @Heatable  8 месяцев назад

      This may be a boiler fault or wiring issue. If you see the flame and the light on the receiver switches on then the fault will likely be with the boiler

      @@Heatable The kids broken have ours, if I buy one of these how do I connect it to my boiler or does it automatically connect to my boiler?

    • @Heatable
      @Heatable  Год назад

      @@Juniér_Husséin Most of the thermostats will come with a how to guide for setting it up, it won't automatically connect, some need to be wired etc. If you're not sure then we'd recommend that you contact an electrician to get it set up safely for you.

    Just keep it simple and just use manual mode and take thermostat with you in any room you will be in.
