- Orthodontic wax can come in handy when the aligners are rubbing and hurting the inside of your lips. Dr. Bailey, Orthodontist, shares helpful tips on how to apply wax and trim your rough aligners.
A X-ACTO knife works good for trimming too just got to be careful
Are the trays supposed to sit on every single one of the teeth? Because my last tooth on the upper jaw is not inside the tray.
Nail file that thang. But I use the wax on the uppers at the soft pallet to keep my tongue from rubbing the top inner tray. It’s a bad habit of mine
Oh! Another question I just thought of -- my app that goes with my Spark aligners has been scanning and changing aligners every 7 days...but I'm reading that most people go more like 10-14 days between tray changes - do you think 7 days is too fast? I'm in my 50s if that matters. Thank you!
Hello Dr Bailey! I have Spark brand aligners and have had not the best experience so far. Twice now my ortho has had to order an entirely new set of trays because of poor manufacturing -- e.g. we got to a set of trays that did not fit at all -- was way too "off" -- so much so that even the ortho could not cram it onto my teeth! Is this somewhat common or am I just having really bad luck? Waiting for the new sets of trays has set my completion date back by almost 2 months now so I'm not the happiest about this. I'm grateful I can afford the treatment but maaan, this bites! (pun intended. lol)
I just got attachments today. I find the attachments to be very sharp around the edges, and they are chafing my inner cheek and lip when I eat. What can be done in this case to prevent further injuries to my mouth?
Thank you very much Dr. Bailey! I see you from Spain. What is your opinion about systems like orthopulse? Thank you! :)
Hmm, not familiar with Orthopulse! Also, from the Bay Area in the US.
Me too a little bit 😮
