She made top 24 and went to Hawaii, which mean she signed with American Idol and part of that is a ban on being able to sign with anyone else... if she had dropped out before going to Hawaii she could have signed with someone else.... My Guess is either a health issue (her or a family member) or she was caught in a relationship with a crew member... either of which she would want to keep private.

It’s clear that this Kenedi Anderson has the talent, but I feel girls like her also need much much more than AI or a supportive family can give which explains why she decided to depart the contest like she did. She needs a solid team of everything if she thinks she’ll be the newest Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, or Ariana Grande. It is going to be difficult and I’m not as convinced as others if she’ll be the next pop sensation or megastar.

Over the years, most people, except maybe the core tweenie audience the show caters to, are fed up with the way the show pimps some contestants and throws others off the AI bus. It's done with the judges comments, the songs choices, the arrangements and the placements in the show. The one most disturbing ploy is to take one of the clearly top three people and dump them out of the blue with about 4 - 5 weeks left. The next day, all of America is talking about it & it rekindles an interest in the show. The worse case of this was Pia Toscano. Never in the bottom three & then suddenly, boom. I still remember her tears. She was devastated. It would be great if Kenedi Anderson took advantage of AI for a change, used them to create this huge following she appears to have & then dumped AI.

She is a nice girl, with a good voice...that is all.
She obviously had multiple recording contracts and being on American Idol comes with strings attached. She wanted to cut ties after the exposure.
Someone smart advised her to drop out, because AI contracts are hell and she can get a real one somewhere else.
Her parents and on top of that, her duet singer put her in the ‘friend zone’ which devastated her.
