as a panthers fan in my opinion...drafting bryce wasn't a mistake. letting cam go was a mistake, then not bringing cam back was another mistake(definitely last year)

I’m a panthers fan as well and definitely agree we should’ve never let cam go both times…but I also think we shouldn’t have drafted Young. Not too many all time great qb’s under 6ft. Time will tell tho

After this upcoming season will determine if drafting Bryce was a mistake .. Tbh I feel like it was over CJ. We can say CJ wouldn’t of done well on this team. No it wouldn't. Panthers O-lin is TOP 10 in pass blocking. They gave Bryce on average 2.5 seconds in the pocket to throw. Only five NFL starting QBs had more pocket time than Bryce. The O-line was rated low because their run blocking was terrible. Panthers receivers were rated much higher than Texans receivers going into last season, but Stroud had no problem elevating them. Heck, his WR1 was an undersized rookie drafted in the 3rd round. Stroud's other favorite target was Nico Collins, who never had more than 500 yards receiving until Stroud showed up. Bryce had DJ Chark, who was a pro-bowler. Chark didn't forget how to play WR all of a sudden. He underperformed because Bryce was dragging his teammates to his level.
I remember you had Bryce as your number 1 pick right before the draft.
We’ll see what Cam has to say after next season. He, as the former QB for the Panthers, who also took a lot of hits because he was never protected well, should know firsthand why Bryce’s rookie season went the way it did. However the team has upgraded itself with a better coach, better weapons for Bryce and better protection. You will see massive improvement from Bryce and the team overall next season.
I guarantee you if they brought Cam back for two seasons the stadium will sell out win or lose.

Bryce is the Number 1 pick for 2023 based on his College year & Heisman Trophy. You aren’t judged a year ahead of your performance because no one knows the future. So CJ didn’t earn it in 2023 & Bryce stays.
Now, going forward, 2024, we will judge Bryce with a new Coach & new weapons!

CJ was the better choice based on his measurements in my opinion. It's harder for QBs under 6ft to succeed in the NFL
A lot of that sh**ty situation was created by Bryce. He failed to elevate those around him, which is what no.1 picks are expected to do. A lot fewer people would criticize Bryce or the organization if they had drafted him in the second or third round.

I’m a panthers fan and I’ll admit. We suck. And getting Bryce was NOT the issue. It’s with who he had to deal with. Ik it’s gonna take time but I’m gonna be honest and real. Tepper did us wrong and it shows. Knew letting Cam walk was a horrendous mistake and a horrible idea and not letting him back was even worse. Grant it, I wasn’t mad when Cam declined the offer. Cause Matt Fool was horrible. And thankfully he’s gone. Signing Frank Reich was even worse than I could possibly imagine. If Tepper doesn’t shut up and get the heck out of this organization, we’re fucked for years to come

Cam wrong on this one it didnt matter who we drafted organizationally we were a dumpster fire. Anyone will struggle in that situation. I blame Bryce's struggles on coaching. The GM went shopping and built a sports car frank treated like an off road vehicle bond to fail. Plus play calling was so simple Defenses were happy to play us to pat there stats.
