Its like Americans will spy but they wont let another foreign company do that. And you see Jeenie is Asian so it just makes sense she would make a skit on behalf of that CEO. Exactly, having fun out of it is one thing but this is a serious issue and just cause the man phrased it that way doesn’t mean we should invalidate his point
Well... they have to ask these stupid question in a hearing to have evidence when someone says "yes" or "no" and it later turns out to be a lie. Btw does anyone have a wifi printer? How do you think you can print the stuff you send via your phone/tablet/pc?
The word TikTok doesn’t appear anywhere in this bill. TikTok is just a cover. What it actually does is give the secretary of commerce the ability to name any country a foreign adversary or regime and ban any software or devices from that country that access American wifi or process data in anyway. Using a VPN to get around it would be illegal with up to 20 years in prison or a fine of up to a million dollars.
Well…. Only reason they’d have to be upset is that once TikTok has access to the phones Wi-Fi, if they get hacked or hire people to do digging the IP address and the wi-fi is the gate to go through for that. Unless a user disabled Wi-Fi use for the app and only used cellular data, TikTok would only have access to the information on the phone that whatever firewall/antivirus program is installed can most likely block.
Uhmm... No app or device have access to the Wi-Fi, what are you on about... It's a connection that keeps up the internet... There's nothing to access lmao
@@PersonTP There *is* something to access, but unless you're trying to hide something then there's nothing to worry about. A decent hacker can steal a lot of information by accessing your Wi-Fi network. But if you've got things to hide, then you likely have more protections in place, whether there technical like firewalls or just regulations within the building. I had a friend who was a programmer working for a medical company and they weren't allowed to connect any personal devices to the work wi-fi, or to connect their work laptops to their home wifi, in case competition tried to get information. I can understand them wanting to keep it off of government devices, but at the same time, government devices shouldn't have anything other than work stuff on it anyway. There are thousands of apps that steal and store data. Targeting this one specific one isn't going to change anything. I wish they had to let the public vote on *every* law instead of being able to pass what they want, because it's so obvious they have no idea what they're doing.
This was hilarious!😂 I didn't see the whole clip, but maybe they eventually ask something relevant along the lines of data breaches or something? (Because that's what Tiktok is banned in India for.)
I think he honestly intended for the question to be more like, can it use a person's shared WiFi network to access their personal files, or something like that. But the question was horrifically vague, as is the bill. Some savvy republicans have tried to stop the ban as its phrased now, because it would ban other technologies in the US too. It's just another example of legislators not having a clue about what they're banning or allowing. If they'd have the balls to stop letting evangelical retirees run the show they'd be able to fill the ranks with educated consultants and people that actually, oh ,idk, represent the people. But hey, that's a foreigners take on the whole circus.
0:32 This part just reminded me of when my Asian mom (Filipina) said "i DoN'T wAnT a BLuE tEeTh" every time my family and I would tell her to turn on her bluetooth 😂😂😂😂
They also noted that it picks up on key flicks and my auto response to that was: 'so does google, you gonna ban that too?' Basically everything they're 'concerned about' is something an another app or site does as well. What are they going to do next? Ban the internet?
That's one of the reasons a few of the more savvy republicans have tried to stop the ban. On the grounds it would also call for a ban of... essentially most mobile technologies in the US. It's way too vague and definitely written by people who aren't tech experts. He might have actually meant can the app access sensitive information on the users private network (and subsequently access more than the shared files) through the WiFi connection. But thats a long and complicated question, that, even I don't know if I phrased correctly for what I mean, so the republican is all HURR DURR does it connect to WiFi? Like, the implications of that question eventually lead to the app hacking into personal computers through a shared WiFi network. But he sure as hell didn't actually ask that.
Tic toc could be a legitimate threat to security since its owners are Chinese and the government has too much control over their businesses. They need to make a US entity of tic toc and not allow stored databases.
They only want it banned is because the younger generations are picking up the truths & it’s gaining traction & they’re doing everything that can be done to prevent that from happening. 18 years of indoctrination can be ended with a single video.
I think the reason they want it specifically for TickTock is that most american companies, like google and meta have agreements with the US government and share their info with them, the problem here is that the US government doesn't want TickTock to share the info they gather to the Chinese government
If true, then that's exactly why pushing the bill through as is will have a severe ripple effect. It wouldn't matter *which* government hijacks the data without the users will (consent is probably baked into the ToS which, frankly, barely anyone reads), the app should be banned. It's like the bible being included in the banned book list. As, it's a completely valid book to ban. So, if TikTok gets banned, other apps i.e Instagram would have to be banned too. [I can't say for certain which government has access to what. International legislations being incompatible at best. For as many accusations of CCP data mining, there's an 'expert' saying it's not the case. (Same can be said for the USA, they might claim your data is safe in US servers and special subpoenas are needed, but, frankly, depends on corruption etc)]

And, YES! some of your questions Jeenie, can really be true to do.
Yes, the man did not ask very good questions. But TikTok does do shady shiz. But so does Facebook so 🤷🏻♀️ Why not punish them all?
I agree 👍 I'm fed tf up with having to have a Facebook to ordinary things in life and if I don't I don't get to participate! Fakebook is not healthy for me in my life and I would say it also affects a lot of others negatively to. If your my friend you know it! I don't need umpteen hundred fake friends or nosy people who couldn't care less.
because the former is a foreign business, not beholden to American laws so executives will not face punishment for harming Americans, and the country it is native to is communist meaning the government ultimately owns the business thus, if they are mining data from American consumers..and and that data is going to the Chinese gov..well that is literally spying.
THE WHEEZE MAN 🤣🤣🤣
Loved this. Dude seriously thinks an app having access to your wi-fi is equivalent to spying, That's how it gets online!
Did it ever cross your mind that your WiFi data can be hacked hmmm
It does. It's the same way hackers do it if they get into your device they can go for your Wi-Fi and access all your other devices. That is what the speaker is poorly trying to ask.
@@punkrockmetalqueen92 yes exactly my point lol Im over her mind blown at all the people in the comments who are so dumb and aren’t understanding the core of what he’s getting at is our world really this dumb because majority of these comments seem to legitimately think alike just like the creator of this video how stupid are they all
Jim, Seems like you have no clue what hackers do. This is a serious problem
@@kukuku36 but if this is a problem with hacking, then what does tiktok have to do with it? any app/device can be hacked like facebook, home security ( like audio visual security cameras)...etc. that's a hacker's fault not the app. so i don't understand why are they asking this. they should've focused solely on tiktok's relationship with china because that'z what actually matters.
Jeenie's laugh after every Hilarious question is everything!! XD
GURL! This just tickled me sooooo much!😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 Thank you for this, Jeenie!
Every time Congress decides to question tech companies, they always fail to do any research so they'll know what kind of questions to ask. I guess they don't mind looking foolish! 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
Absolutely hysterical! Good ones Jeenie!
I understand there are legitimate concerns about TikTok, but that was such a dumb question from someone who clearly doesn’t know much about tech, and a brilliantly hilarious response from Jeenie 🤣🤣🤣
It's not the question that's dumb, it's how he phrased it. There is a valid question behind that nonsense you heard
@@Bookworm51485 I agree with you, I just didn't articulate myself well enough, obviously. Which yes, I can acknowledge the irony there! Pride goeth before a fall and all that!
That one person that believes the vaccine chip conspiracy:
It's like trying to explain wifi to your grandma -you don't want to be rude but sometimes she's gonna ask a really stupid question and you have to just deal with that.
It all makes sense now 😂 keep up the good work! ❤❤❤
Lmao. Thank you Jeenie for bring us all smiles in this time of just absolutely stupidity we are living through.
What he meant was is the app accessing WiFi not just for app usage but to track activity through the ip address beyond the app. Yes given the question is vague but what can you expect from a congressman.....
😂🤣😂Jeen you are amazing😂🤣😂
Mr chews face said it all 🤣🤣 like no shi-. Come on man, any online app has access to ur wifi. Who cares 😂😂 I cant
Her laugh at the end is totally me...that question was so silly that he had to paused 😂
Jeenie is roasting HARD 😂😂😂
i was cracking up 🤣
You are hilarious...that laugh got me...couldn't stop giggling...
This. This is why voting is important and having younger people and/or tech savvy people in office and working with those in office is of value.
How many tech savvy people are running for political office though?
I recommend you do some tech training though because the question is good. Best regards - IT Security Specialist 🫂

This is why I love your vid/Shorts😂
Jeenie! You’re hilarious!
Omg!! You have such an imagination, Jeenie 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love your reaction, the best!! ❤❤❤❤❤
this is the funniest video I watched today 😂
This is soo true ur soo funnyy😂
U KILLED IT w this one GEENIE! 😂😂
Mr. Chew is genuinely confused with the question.. Lol
I think the person was asking whether TikTok monitored what a user do whilst they are not using TikTok (which a lot of app do), and whether that monitoring extended to the entire wifi network. Which it most likely/hopefully does not.
What was asked to Mr. Chew was a valid question. If only people would have spent less time on tik-tok, they would have understood it better. Access to a network can lead to getting sensitive information about internet users. This can amount to breach of privacy and many more serious internet crimes.
😂😂😂😂😂
Jeenie you trolled it really good 👍
You ma'am are amazing!! 😂☠️😂☠️
" My baby speaks in this phone will she control the plane " ? 😂lol
😂 As A Singaporean, I Really Envy Mr Chee For Putting Up With That

Tiktok should be banned everywhere
I love every inch of sarcasm in this 😂
It just depends on the phone set up and network settings. It is possible.
Boy if that expression doesn’t say “wtf is this idiot on about?” then I am even worse at reading faces than I already knew.
I am so sure you have those questions straight away popping up after you saw the questioning. It must be the easiest content that you’ve done! Hahaha
you are soooo funny Jeenie!!!! What a dmb question! hahaha the CEO cant even understand. "If i turn on my android phone using the WIFI, can I access the refrigerator."
Love the expression on Mr. Chu's face. But tik tok accessing personal information is not a joke.
I agree, but so does Facebook. Banning Tiktok isn't a way to solve this problem, but introducing a law (like how EU do) is the correct solution.
i dont let my kids have ticktock because of this
Because of what? A woman being funny?
BCZ of what?
so you're basically the person at the beginning of the video. got it.

I have been watching your videos very lately because I am going on a plane in September it is going to be over a 10 hour plane but I am taking two planes because it is very long I am also going across the Sea to get to my destination.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I needed a laugh today. Thank you
He said it poorly, but he does have a point. Wechat was connected to my home wifi and it has tried to gain access to other thjngs on the same network. My roommate is in i.t and she alerted me to it.
Don't have tiktok because I'm not a child, but he may have a point.
And it does have some valid security concenrns beyond this. Mocking this one guy is one thing, but it shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
I understand what you are saying since I have Weibo, Wechat these Chinese apps installed in my phone.. But not only Chinese apps., Instagram, Apex Legends game and some other American apps tried gaining access to other things connected on the same network. 💀
@@anasian8894 yes, but their parent company Bytedance is a Chinese company. If they demand information on a specific person, they cannot deny that request.
But going back to my original point, she is using the video to make fun of "boomer" politicians who don't understand technology, when it's basic I.t security.
She just makes herself look stupid instead.
@@stevenotto1456( its just my opinion). America's anti-Asian mindset isn't unheard of. From Harvard denying Asian students to get into there to China-phobia..i've seen people saying "eww why do you watch Chinese dramas, they are all CCP". Imagine saying "eww why watch Keeping Up with Kardashians, they all CIA". Did you see the Mark hearing in congress? It wasn't nearly as bad as with this Tiktok CEO. He happens to be an Asian CEO of an Asian company which triggers a lot of non-Asian Americans. Tiktok took over Meta in USA market. So its just pretty obvious these politicians got fixated on this mindset they gonna ban a non-American company with the proxy "fear" of privacy breach whereas all other American social media companies doing the exact illegal thing "taking away your privacy". Its like Americans will spy but they wont let another foreign company do that. And you see Jeenie is Asian so it just makes sense she would make a skit on behalf of that CEO. I saw some well known Singaporean youtubers making videos mocking American congress people as well.
His expression was like "is this 4 real. I'm in the twilight zone".😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
India banned TikTok a while back.
Exactly, but then also yes if you put on headphones they do have access to your brain... tiktok is cancer
@@blakek1043 In the sense that the audio waves connect with the nerve endings, yes. Other then that it’s all an individual’s personal experience.

Mr chew was like: is this guy for real?🙄
This was hilarious!😂
I didn't see the whole clip, but maybe they eventually ask something relevant along the lines of data breaches or something?
I love how she laughed at her own jokes. It makes them fUnNiEr
I saw this video of yours in tiktok and you really got me cracking 😂
0:32 This part just reminded me of when my Asian mom (Filipina) said "i DoN'T wAnT a BLuE tEeTh" every time my family and I would tell her to turn on her bluetooth 😂😂😂😂
Jeenie laughing is everything that's right in this world
This is EVERYTHING. 😂😂😂 And so accurate. And we wonder why people think we’re stupid. SMH
Remember when the Furby toy was blamed to be a spy toy?
This reminds me of the “I’m vaccinated so I’m magnetic” video 😂😂😂
If I play with my Nintendo switch, will I be dumb?😂
I love it that Jeenie can’t stop giggling
Not her just silently laughing after each one 😂 😭
Mr. Chew was like: bruh really?
Jeenie is so accurate...maybe these will happen in 2100 who knows 🤣
Mr. Chews expression 😂 Jennie brings us joy she is hilarious!
