When I was on Debate in High School, you were not allowed to interrupt another speaker, and you had to wait your turn. This is what Trump is asking for. The right to make your point without being interrupted. That is the essence of debate. What Harris is asking for is the complete opposite.
If I am not mistaken, it was the Biden team who pushed for the mute and cut off options. Trump didn't set that rule, but he did venefit immensely from it.
Trump is very known for interrupting though. Watch his previous debates with Biden and Hillary. The mic mute rule was put in place because of those past intense debates. I think Trump realized he actually benefits from that control a little bit which is why he wants to keep it in place now.
Trump will have to be restrained though, to the point below, he almost can't help himself and I don't blame him. But he will interrupt to his detriment.

If voting numbers say anything, it's more that people will just ignorantly vote with the party they think is best, with what they think their party stands for. Very few people actually have a range of knowledge on politics like ourselves.

My take is different.
