Nice vids bro. Love your advice in the comments. I’d love to get some diving in this summer. Im based in Melbourne, Western Suburbs and would love to get out the Great Ocean Road or anywhere close by. What spots would you recommend?

Depends on your water experience. If you have a swimming surfing or other water sport background then can start out on the ocean side but if your starting fresh then best start in the bay. The spearfishing Victoria Facebook page is run by a friend of mine and it has a find a buddy group chat. If you haven’t already joined those they are a good place to start

How many years have you been diving for. Very interesting video I'd love to have the skills to also harvest fresh taste seafood. Do you have any advise for calming your nerves for a total beginner, being comfortable and confident, thanks.

I have been diving for 10 years. If it is scallops you are after a 3 day Freediving course will teach you enough to get you down to more than 10 m. After that it’s just a matter of finding people local to you who can help get you started with some spots to dive.
Depending on where you live it can be pretty easy to get a feed of fish or abalone without going deeper than 3 m.
If you are based in the lower north island of New Zealand or in Victoria in Australia I can point you towards some people to go out with.
