Finally a good review video of the North Face Access pack! One note to mention just in case there are any concerns as far as the plastic clamp on the backpack. North Face does offer a lifetime warranty on all items expect foot wear, so that may help if the bag gets damaged in anyway. I personally can’t wait to get one. I am always looking like a turtle anyway since I carry so much stuff for school. I like this bag because I feel it’s better suited for the tech I carry with me on days I am not in school. Love th e review.
Thanks Joshny! Glad that you like the review. It is definitely very suited for tech, but be aware that due to it's shape I am not sure how many books or binders you can actually carry inside the bag.
+CampingCarJoa I was quite surprised as well. It's great to see them venture into new areas. I'm looking forward to see what kind of bags they will come up with in the future
Just got the ver 2.0. Now it can stand on it's own, a metal clasp and a stealth outside pocket for bottles on both sides. It's great to know that NF listens.
It's the same price as ver 1.0 when it came out in my country. I wanted it even in ver 1.0, so with all the big issues addressed this is definitely worth it.
I'm impressed at how you managed to balance the audio between music, voice-over and "zippers/clips/hitting bag etc" without any of it being annoying as hell.
You give such a great vibe and your reviews are on point. Precise and with the exact amount of info needed. Most important, pros and cons that might make deciding for one or another easier. Thanks.
Very futuristic! The materials used looks great, nice qlty. The should add a couple of pieces to stand the bag on the floor easily, and also a zipper in case the automatic lock fail. Nice video Bo, like always. 😉👍🏼
+tjal79 thank you very much. I hope so too. But I'm already stunned and so grateful for all the subscribers yet. It has been a pleasure talking to everyone here. Cheers, mate ✌😉
I think so. The price is a little bit high but i like very much the design. Is very stylish and from my point of view, have nice features. What worries me is the clip made of plastic, if it broke, where can i repaired it? In my country this bag is not for sale yet, so that would be a problem i think. Again, thanks for the review. Cheers.
+Daniel Alvarez Altamirano someone in the commentsection had a broken hinge, but northface repaired it under warranty as far as I know. In Germany it's also not in stores yet. But I think it would be good to get it either directly from North face or from a certified dealer.
Yeah, i read it Bo. Hope the warranty apply to my country too. I have Northface shops in my city, so i think is a question of risk. Try not to break it and if i did, hope the local shop can help me about it. Thanks for the advice.
As usual, nice review Bo and high quality video production as well! The Northface bag is very cool, not really my taste, but still worth checking out! Thanks :)
Was hoping you did any of the Chrome bags, as your reviews are very thorough, clean, and well done. Guess I'll take the jump. :) Just wanted to give you a thumbs up for the great job.
Bo - another great review by you on this. I like the interior color and pockets, which make it easy to find your stuff. I know how you worry about security, so I assume you will not like that pop open main compartment feature without some sort of lock mechanism. The other thing that kills it for me is that you can't stand it up on its own - difficult when commuting on the train or bus, or waiting in the airport. Otherwise I like it a lot, but can't go with it because of the aforementioned issues. Would love to know your top picks on two types of bags: A backpack for daily office commute, and a bag for a 3-4 day trip. Thanks again for doing some of the best reviews I've seen on bags. JB
Thank you very much. That is very nice of you. And thanks for commenting on the Accesspack, I totally agree with you And now to your question: 1) my current favorite daybags are the Goruck GR1 21L and the PX Invisible 2) that is a little more difficult. I just haven't been able to tackle the "One bag travel philosophy" so I usually travel with two bags (one daypack and a bag for clothing and such) but if I had just one bag to travel with, then it might be the AER Travel pack or maybe the Heimplanet Weekender, which is on my review waiting list.
Thanks Bo! Coincidentally I've been considering both the GR1 and the AER Travel Pack (because of your review, BTW). I'm hoping they addressed that top zipper issue after seeing your review. I was really surprised to see the gap that causes, and at the worst spot. I'm also looking at the "Nomatic Travel Bag", but want to see something other than their promo video before buying. Lots of great features though. Recently I've been seeing tons of travel packing cubes. Many have weak side walls, and I want ones that hold their shape better.
J Biggs Do you want the packing cubes for clothing or equipment? When you say "hold their shape better" do you mean "hard cases"? In my experience "soft" packing cubes are better for clothing, but they must retain their shape just a tad so it is easier to fill them up.
J Biggs I see. THe Goruck Shadow Pockets (which unfortunately aren't available anymore) fall flat when they are empty, but this is actually not that big of a deal. THis also gives you a little headroom if you want to fill them a little bit more.
Love your reviews Bo, not only informative videos but extremely well edited and presented :) Have you tried or planning to do a review for the INDUCTOR CHARGED BACKPACK from North Face? Cheers!
Hey Dom. Thank you very much! To be honest, this is the first Northface backpack that I have considered reviewing. I love the Northface Duffelbags and I use mine regularly. But I did not really care for the design of their backpacks, that is probably why I did not see the inductor yet. Looking at the features it is definitely interesting. I might take a look at it.
Cool stuff Bo, I think it might be a cool one to review as it has quite a few nice tricks up its sleeve. Considering getting one but there is no decent review out there to be honest.
+Dom Sigalas Music yeah, without any reviews it is difficult to make such a buying decision. It's probably not cheap either. Did you see the bag in person in a store already?
No it's definitely not cheap. Haven't seen it in person, I saw a review for their Fuse Box charged, I liked the idea with the battery pack and the leather-ish finish but I felt that this backpack didn't have enough compartments for tech and geat (photography, film, music etc). So I researched and found the Inductor which seems to have many compartments and a very big one which could even fit groceries or books if you use it daily to go to work ;)
+Dom Sigalas Music I see. But the question is, is the battery pack in that bag actually good, or would it be better to get a backpack that is well organized and add an Anker battery pack. What do you think?
Thanks for review. Loved the bag....right up yo the point where you advised it did not fit under the plane seat! Thanks! Saved me some aggravation fasho!
this was one of the bags i was considering as a replacement to my current one! glad you did a review. it's a tad too bulky and fugly for me, it seems. thanks for the great review!
Hey Kevi! I#m glad I could help. You definitely need to check out the bag in person before buying the bag to see if you like the look on yourself. In pictures it sure does look great, but it really depends on the person who is wearing it.
+KenNetH WONG I would love to give that one a try, but I currently haven't planned to do so yet. I still got a bunch of other bags still waiting to be reviewed 😉
Great review... I watched it twice! I am still not 100% on purchasing this backpack. I do travel very often and wanted a change from my existing 'basic' backpack. I noticed in your review there seemed to be some 'wear' on the edges of the frame, how has the opening mechanism held up? Can you tell me if you've still been using this bag? Perhaps a 3 month progress update. Keep up the great work, cheers!
Hey Waseem, Thank you very much. The wear was from something inside the overhead cabin inside a plane. I have no idea what it was. Must have happen when I pulled it out. Other than that the bag is still fine, although I haven't used it much since the review. It is just way too big for me personally. Also the appearance of the bag is deceiving becuase it just doesn't have that much capacity. For "just" a tech bag and your commute to work it is great, but for anything other than that I would recommend a different bag. If you have more question, let me know. Cheers, mate!
Great review man! Now I don't want the bag anyway! How could they not make this bag stand up when they gave it such an opening mechanism? It was made for a bag that stands up!
+Dao Quang that could be true, but that extra space is almost triangular shaped. So there will always be some space left at the middle even if the laptop is thicker
I love Carryology and was really eager to see that review. Great Job. It's really a shame about the space lost in the laptop compartment and the fact that it doesn't stand is also a bad point. Well, this is really a great review. Merci or rather Danke!.
Hey, I'm happy that you like the review. You're welcome ;-) Yes, the bag has some pretty important cons, but I still applaud Northface for being so bold and trying something new. The features are unique and interesting, but some of their day to day practicabilities are debatable of course e.g. the hinge system.
Hi, could you tell how the bag aged over the past few months? I'm the states for a couple of weeks and I'm thinking of picking this bag over the Incase Icon one. Thanks!
+Pulin Singh hey Pulin. The bag is still too new. I only have had it for about two months. Difficult to say. But my advise would be only to buy it if you have a northface dealer in your country so you can take advantage of the warranty. The hook and opening system could get damaged, and it probably is difficult to send it to USA just for repairs. But this depends on where you live of course.
Great video! This is a cool concept bag but I don't think I can trust the clasp for durability when compared to some good zippers. It also does make one look like a turtle
+Arjun Gandhi thank you, Arjun. I agree with you, I also prefer zippers. But the concept is still quite unique and cool. Don't like to look like a turtle either 😂
Really great review man. Pros and Cons are the better point you talk on the video. Is very useful to find someone who talks about the EVERYDAY USE ... thanks! @Bo Ismono PD: Can you review the Thule Paramount 29 lt.??
Thank you again ;-) I have seen the Thule Paramount 29L, but I have another almost similar bag coming in which I will review first. After that review I will think about the Thule.
This bag does have potential with a couple of annoyances aside. The extra space could've be used for an extra laptop compartiment or extra accessory space.
Bo, I just discovered your channel, great videos of great products! Thanks! Have a look at Ogio Mach 5, its the coolest bagpack IMO, however, I ride a motorbike. Still.
Great review! I was wondering if this bag can be used to carry some clothes (say for an overnight stay or for a couple of days). The main compartment looked a little small.
informative video Bo. Love your videos. I have been thinking about either purchasing the north face accesspack or peak designs everyday backpack and I was wondering which you would recommend. Danke
+TERORD thank you very much. Really appreciate the support. I haven't tested the peak design yet, but just by looking at it I would prefer the peak design
Just came across your channel. I really love it dude, such high quality. I was wondering, in addition to holding a bunch of tech gear, would this be a good bag for a small weekend trip?
Thank you very much, ANurag. Personally I wouldn't use this bag as a weekend trip bag. The shape of the bag makes it really akward to pack clothing and stuff for a weekend IMHO.
Anurag Prasad The GR1 21L is still one of my favorites. I'm reviewing a couple of more bags in the 21L range. Maybe one of those will be interesting for you as well. Until then don't hesitate to ask more questions. Cheers!
That's a Steinhart Ocean 500 Titanium. If you get that watch or any Steinhart for that matter, don't go for a version with the Soprod movement. The early models of this watch had the Soprod movement and I had so many troubles with it, but they changed it to the ETA movement. Which now runs great. So the ETA version is highly recommended. Beautiful watch.
This was an incredible review, and it helped so much. I am choosing between this and the peak design 30L backpack. Could you also review the peak design? Thanks
One of the most important characteristics that people expect from this brand is the weather resistance, no mention in the video......¿? water resistance?
I was looking for a review of this bag. Great video. I'm really looking forward to get one (even if its quite expensive), but the plastic latch is the only thing that makes me doubt about getting one. Do you think it's critical? How's the bag so far? - Thanks!
Thank you, Horacio! I don't know how well the latch will last over time. It really depends on how you use it of course. Kalpesh in the commentsection mentioned that his latch broke after a few month bot northface repaired it. The bag overall is quite cool due to it's features, but the latch is it's Achilles heel.
Schönes Review, insbesondere aufgrund der gut herausgearbeiteten und fairen Kritikpunkte. Kurze Frage: wie heißt die Trinkflasche und bist du mit der beruhigt, dass sie im Access Pack nicht ausläuft?
Danke sehr, Jacob!
Thanks, mate. Well that's difficult to say. How big are you're textbooks? It's been a long time since I have been in school. ;-) But just guessing I would say that you could carry some books but not many. Due to it's shape you probably can only fit one or two big ones and a couple of novel sized books. But I'm not too sure.
Waremblem Gaming It could work, but since the bag is dome shaped it will get pretty cramped. To be honest I would advice you to test it at a store with a couple of your binders yourself. In Germany we have a different size of binders therefore I can't test it for you. IMHO it is a 50/50 chance that they will fit or not. The shape is so uncommon that I'm really not sure if all your binders will fit. Sorry that I can't give you a clear answer on this one.
+Bo Ismono yeah, it definitely makes you look like a turtle... Thanks for the advice, most youtubers don't even reply to their comments, it's really nice that you do! + 1 sub
What sony do you use? Why do you prefer it over the GH4? I have heard that the GH4 is one of the best "youtube" cameras in the market today. Maybe even a video about your camera preferences? Loving your channel so far!
Arda Celik Yes, the GH4 is awesome. It is a great for video and I enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommended. I switched to the Sony a6300 for two reasons: - It is smaller. I'm kinda lazy when it comes around to carrying gear. If the camera is too big I tend to leave it at home or the hotel. The a6300 is small enough so I can carry it together with my editing gear. - The sensor is bigger. It is a APS-C sensor compared to the m4/3 sensor of the GH4. That is why the a6300 has less noise with high ISO. But the a6300 lacks a lot of the video features of the GH4 and it has alot of rolling shutter. So it is really about how you use the camera and for what purpose. I can't say that one is better over the other to be honest.
Hey Bo, very nice video! It would be nice to see what is your actual EDC Pack? Which one of all of these great packs is the one and only? Btw have you ever conciderd an TAD Gear Litespeed? Greetings from Bavaria
+Patrick Wilczek hey Patrick. My daily EDC pack is the GoRuck gr0. Check out my review on my channel. It's actually more or less my benchmark for a lot of comparing backpacks. I'm currently reviewing a bag from TAD, but it's not the litespeed. I didn't look into TAD yet because they don't have a separate laptop compartment. Do you use the tad? Cheers from Hamburg
The look of the GoRuck just was not my style... seems to be a great pack tough. Which one do you test at the moment? Well I have my Litespeed a few days now, its the older V1. They may not have an dedicated laptop compartment, but my XPS 13 fits perfectly into to waterblatter holder. Besides that, the quality is great! Will have to use it some more to say something about the ergonomics and so on.
***** The Litespeed looks really awesome. Before I bought the Goruck I thought about getting the TAD Litespeed as well since it is easier to get it here in Germany. But I use a 15" laptop and that doesn't fit in the Litespeed. My daily driver is still the GR0. Right now I'm not testing a backpack. I'm testing two Duffelbags one is actually from TAD. It's the Meridian Transport Case.
Daegarn I just started collecting watches. THat is basically my second, therefore my knowledge about watches is almost non existent. I'm not the best guy to do watch reviews. But I watched the reviews of this watch on worn & Wound and on Urban Gentry. You should check those guys out if you like watches
I got this for 40% off as a friend works at northface. I use it to commute to work sometimes daily and been annoyed by 3 things, it not standing up on its own, taking up so much room and taking up so much room yet not being able to fully utilise the room it takes up. The is perfect for tech only 100%, great quality materials, great look and functionality. But when i tried to bring a change of clothes for gym for example, it just doeesn't do that well.. not enough room. In summary, if you can live with the space it takes up, the fact it wont stand on its own, then its a very good looking, very functional bag I'd recomend for anyone who only wants to carry tech. I wounldn't of bought it if i dind't get 40% off though - north face is overpriced in AUS
+Aaron Valasinavicius thanks for the comment. I totally agree with you. And at 40% of the price, the bag definitely makes more sense, however it is a very specialised bag that is impractical at times
I was gifted one of these and I have to say I don't really like it, especially not for the price of €250 here in Europe. The fact that it doesn't stand up when you place it on the ground is very annoying, the inside space is limited even though it is very big from the outside because of the hard shell and yes that also makes you look like a turtle. I would only recommend this bag if you need to carry a lot of tech on a daily base (and not much more because it won't fit) if not, I would look elsewhere and save a lot of money. By the way, great job on the review!!
+Floris Klaver thanks, Floris. Totally agree with your feedback. The bag is quite creative with its design but unfortunately very impractical in reality.
Hey, BO, thanks for the video. I got the bag, but it's not for everyone. I live in London and walk and take public transport and constantly take items in and out, so works great. When I move back to Texas this bag will be useless. are you still using the bag? how often do you use it now?
+Jaime-Andres Burgoa hey Jaime. Thanks for the comment. To be honest I don't use it anymore, because it is way too big for me. I'm too short for this bag 😉 but why do you think that you won't use it in Texas anymore?
Bo Ismono Thx for reply. because in London I walk, tube, get tablet out of my bag, put it back in, get train, take laptop out, put it back in, and repeat. bag time is 2 hours per day. in most places in TX (excluding Austin and other) the scenario is, I walk to my house car garage, drive for 45 mins to office , walk from office garage to office, and that's it. the bag time is no more than 5 mins total per day. not justified :)
I'm not planning to do so. Not because I'm not interested, but rather because I only got time for four videos each month and there are still so many bags waiting to be reviewed.
+AsianCheeseToaster the vintage is great. I was contemplating between the vintage and the titanium. And decided for the titanium. I'm just a watch enthusiast, therefore I did not consider to make a watch review. My knowledge about watches is still very little.
+Donovan Clarke thank you very much, Donovan. Most of the bags that I review usually are not available on Amazon but only directly from their website. And putting links from the products website on a review feels kinda biased in a way Imho. Another reason why I decided not to include links for the products: Everyone is living in different countries and therefore has to deal with different shipping and customs fees. That is why I would advice everyone just to Google the product within their country to find the best deals. For instance: I live in Germany, It wouldn’t make sense to give you a German link while you might be living in USA or Asia. I hope that is understandable
I love how your so realistic in all of your videos "the size and the design makes you look a little bit like a turtle" this is why i subscribed to you . Do you have any recommendations for motorcycle riding I commute to 220 miles back and fourth so equals to 440 miles on my 2017 soft tail slim s Harley Davidson doesn't need to be necessarily big more of a durable one that is water Resistance because I live in Florida where it rains a lot and strong humidity in the summer also ventilation. I Usually pack clothes and a few electronics no laptops mostly battery packs for my phone and chargers I really don't want a long back pack either because I,m 5,9 i Don't want it scratching my back fender.
Hey Albert! Thank you very much. Glad that you like my reviews! Well, in my experience there is no backpack, that will be 100% water proof. Heavy rain will get through zippers or seams eventually. Probably the best solution is a raincover or an umbrella (which is what I do in the city ;) ) Most backpacks have pretty good water resistant fabric to begin with, but in my experience long exposure to heavy rain will get to every bag to some degree. In Hamburg we have a lot of rain, but I personally do not expose any bag to a heavy rain storm as I carry a lot of expensive equipment inside the bag. And one of my regular items in my bag is an umbrella. But for normal rain most of the bags I use have good weather resistant fabrics and zippers and hold up to a certain degree. But a monsoon rain like in Indonesia for instance will be tough on any bag if exposed to it for a longer period of time. But your best bet probably will be a rolltop bag. A raincover might fly away while you are riding. Right from the top of my head I would recommend something like the Peloton. But as I said before there is no 100% protection against rain, which is why I would recommend a drybag as well for electronic items. Put those items into the drybag and the drybag inside the bag. Mission Workshop might also be a good idea. Let me know if you have any more questions ;-) Cheers, Bo
Hey Alessio. If I get my hands on the new one I might do a video. But it's not on my priority list. There are still so many other bags that need to be reviewed first
First, great review video & excellent execution! I like how easy you can open the bag, but at the same time worried stuff got stolen easily when commute.. Also the bag alone is heavy :(
+Gabriel Fung (qbgabe12) thank you very much, Gabriel. The weight on the bag isn't that bad compared to other bags, but I agree with you completely on the opening.
Bo Ismono i have a question: witch is better for daily use, the the north face borealis or the patagonia chacabuco? i mean daily use, like laptop and books for college!
That Turtle Joke! :D btw Can you do Lowepro 22l AW review? There are not so many in depth videos about it even if that backpack is pretty popular.. :) Thanks!
+SnehalWagh the next photo bags that I will review are the Tamarac g32 and another one from Thule. I'm not sure yet if I will review the lowepro. I will think about it as soon as I finish the other reviews.
Hello, thanks for the great review. I am considering this back, but I see (thanks to you) the downsides. On your opinion is there a similar, yet better BAckpack? like one that stands, and doesn-t waste much space on the laptop part.
THanks, Danny. I try to cover the "highlights" in "The Good" part, but I feel like that covering the negative aspects of any item better helps in making a buying decision. Usually you already know about the highlights of an item before buying it, but I think it comes down to "can I live with the flaws" of an item. Hope that makes sense. Check out my "How I make a buying decision" video for more info ruclips.net/video/Sz8o7czpoNs/видео.html
great review... to bad the bag doesn't have an water bottle pocket on the outside so you don't have to risk getting your tech wet by storing your water on the inside
Thank you, Luis. You're of course right. But in my own experience I never had a water bottle spill inside one of my bags. I always store a water bottle inside my bag because I don't like stuff dangling outside a bag.
+Bo Ismono I also haven't has spills but it is also a possibility. What I do have experience is things getting wet because condensation caused by the cold of having a cold bottle bear. some TUMI bags have a insulated pocket for this pourpose. I have been looking for a good crossbody bag to carry my tech in my daly commute. No need for laptop size bag, just tablet, battery packs headphones, usb drives, wallet, keys, sunglasses... things. Something small but with lots of small pockets so I can keep everything organized. Any recomendation?
+Luis Angel ok, condensation is actually a problem. Which I usually don't have because I only drink room temperatured water or drinks (I know, my girlfriend also thinks I'm crazy), therefore condensation never has been a problem for me. But I'm a minority in that regard, so you are totally right. I'm currently testing the KP sling, that might be the size you are looking for. It has lots small pockets and compartments and seems to have the size you are looking for. Other than that I unfortunately don't know any crossbody bags in that size.
I'm thinking I might go into the market to get a new school bag as my jansport that I've had for almost 5 years is pretty beat up XD so I'm debating to get a good back pack and I wanted to ask if I should get this or a alternative (must have a laptop sleeve) thanks!
Hey Ryan. I've seen the bag. Looks very interesting. I need to finish some other reviews first, and maybe afterwards I can check if I can do a review. But I've seen some good reviews of the bag here on RUclips already.
Im looking for my college backpack but this one is not the one im looking for. I will carry one 15" macbook pro with his charger, one iphone 6s, like 5 or 6 notebooks, one external HDD and a power bank. Nice video!
Hey abdiel! Thank you very much! Check out the Heimplanet Daypack or the Aer Duffelpack. If you need a little more space check out my new video on the Peloton. Maybe that is something for you.
Man :( I think i'm going with one from amazon, the Cocoon Slim Backpack but i think i'll have to sell something to buy it because is a little expensive for me.
+Abdiel Martinez cocoon has some nice stuff. I haven't tried their backpack yet. How much is it where you live? It's good to save some money before you purchase an item. It makes you appreciate it a little more. That's essentially how I feel about my goruck. I had to save money for quite a long time before I could get it.
Hey vinay! Thank you. Unfortunately I can't really answer your question. I don't know how big an Alienware laptop is. I guess it really depends on it's thickness.
Okay! :) ... as you have the backpack can you check whether 15" can fit or not.. it's a request.. it's okay even if you take couple of weeks to reply to my question...
Hey Bo. I have one backordered from REI in the US. I was wondering how much storage is there. I want a bag I can goto the gym and then goto my local coffee shop afterwards to work. Is there room for some clothing and maybe a pair of boxing gloves.
Hey! The bag is mainly intended for your work commute. You can fit some clothes into the main compartment, but I doubt that you can fit boxing gloves in there. Or do you mean MMA gloves? Those might fit.
@@Youknowthebo I was watching one of your new videos and I was wondering about this bag. I ended up returning mine and got one of the classic North Face bags. I still miss this bag sometime. Did they every come out with a improved version? Anyway love your channel, glad you started to branch out to other things. Keep up the cool videos. I try to watch them all.
@@MJDross thanks for the positive comment. Happy to see that you like the new videos. And I am not sure if North face ever made a new version tbh. But I doubt it
Finally a good review video of the North Face Access pack!
It is definitely very suited for tech, but be aware that due to it's shape I am not sure how many books or binders you can actually carry inside the bag.
one of the best reviews I ever see.. the video are really high quality
+Jonas Jeppesen thank you very much, Jonas
Surprised to see such a stylish bag from Northface. I like Northface outdoor gear, but this is something new for them I think.
+ian octaviano that's great to know. Glad that they improved the bag.
Hey wanted to know if version 2.0 was worth the price ?
It's the same price as ver 1.0 when it came out in my country. I wanted it even in ver 1.0, so with all the big issues addressed this is definitely worth it.
How have I not found your videos before?! your content is so clean and amazingly edited and your reviews are short and to the point. I love them!
Thank you very much, Darren! Really appreciate your kind words! Cheers!
I'm impressed at how you managed to balance the audio between music, voice-over and "zippers/clips/hitting bag etc" without any of it being annoying as hell.
Thank you very much, James!
Very nice review. You are very honest about everything. I liked that you mentioned that if the hook breaks that will leave the bag useless.
Thank you very much, Anand!
im working in north face we hav this bag im loving it never stop exploring the real face north face
Cool. Any new interesting bags coming soon from Northface?
You're thorough, honest, and concise.
Please continue making reviews!!
+Paul Naughton thank you very much, Paul. That means a lot 😉✌️
You give such a great vibe and your reviews are on point. Precise and with the exact amount of info needed. Most important, pros and cons that might make deciding for one or another easier. Thanks.
+Blu Pei thank you very much for the very kind comment. More Videos are coming soon. 😀✌
Very futuristic! The materials used looks great, nice qlty. The should add a couple of pieces to stand the bag on the floor easily, and also a zipper in case the automatic lock fail. Nice video Bo, like always. 😉👍🏼
Just a note: the Access 02 is out now. Would be great to do a review for that one as well. :)
Great review. Very good points made regarding pros and cons of the features.
Thank you very much!
Love seeing a new video from you in my subscriptions. Another great review. I have a bag addiction and this one is going on the wishlist.
Thanks Michael! Love to hear how you like this bag, if you decide to buy it. Cheers, Michael!
Really good and in-depth review Bo, not too long yet you pretty much covered it all. Keep it up!
+Zajme thanks, Zajme. More videos coming soon
Not even 7000 Subscribers?? Great reviews and good video/audio! Your channel will be huge one day!!
+tjal79 thank you very much. I hope so too. But I'm already stunned and so grateful for all the subscribers yet. It has been a pleasure talking to everyone here. Cheers, mate ✌😉
Nice review man! I really appreciate it, i was looking for a good video explaining the pros and cons of this bag.
Thanks Bo! Cheers form Peru!!!
Thank you, Daniel. Glad I could help. Are you going to get the bag? Cheers from Germany ;-)
+Daniel Alvarez Altamirano no problem.let me know if you have any further questions. Cheers
This review is worth way more than 5K subs! Keep up the good work!
+Ben Marshall thanks, Ben. I can't believe that I'm almost at 5k. Thanks for your support. More stuff is coming soon. Cheers.
Thanks for the reply! :D
Ben Marshall Of course. ;-)
As usual, nice review Bo and high quality video production as well! The Northface bag is very cool, not really my taste, but still worth checking out! Thanks :)
+bajigurwedangronde thanks ✌ yes, the design is quite unique, but not really my taste. The features are great though.
how does this guy only have 6000 subs? his vids are quality!
Thanks so much, Jason!
Was hoping you did any of the Chrome bags, as your reviews are very thorough, clean, and well done. Guess I'll take the jump. :) Just wanted to give you a thumbs up for the great job.
Thank you very much, Melody. I would love to review a Chrome bag, but I haven't had the chance yet. I hope I'll be able to review one in 2017
Please do the The North Face Homestead Roadtripper Backpack. :) This is good review as always Bo!
Really like your reviews! Great quality and a nice quick pace!
+Nicholas Cariss thank you very much, Nicholas. Really appreciate it. 😊
I like your cons review part! Straigth forward and thoughful. Instant SUBSCRIBE!
Thank you very much!!!
Wow a bag review that actually reviews the bag, thank you!
+IamCj you're very welcome. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask 😉✌
Hello ! Sir , what is your opinion about The North Face Vault backpack ? That one , that 26.5 liter , not the new one.
And thanks for commenting on the Accesspack, I totally agree with you
And now to your question:
1) my current favorite daybags are the Goruck GR1 21L and the PX Invisible
2) that is a little more difficult.
Exactly - I'm looking for soft packing cubes for clothes but I don't want them falling totally flat when empty.
J Biggs I see. THe Goruck Shadow Pockets (which unfortunately aren't available anymore) fall flat when they are empty, but this is actually not that big of a deal. THis also gives you a little headroom if you want to fill them a little bit more.
Love your reviews Bo, not only informative videos but extremely well edited and presented :)
Have you tried or planning to do a review for the INDUCTOR CHARGED BACKPACK from North Face?
Cheers!
Excellent work Bo, thank you. Really enjoyed the review.
+Keith Wilson thank you very much, Keith✌😀
this was one of the bags i was considering as a replacement to my current one! glad you did a review. it's a tad too bulky and fugly for me, it seems.
thanks for the great review!
Hey Kevi!
I#m glad I could help. You definitely need to check out the bag in person before buying the bag to see if you like the look on yourself. In pictures it sure does look great, but it really depends on the person who is wearing it.
Hey, are u going to do the review for the Northface Accesspack 2? I'm looking forward to watch it :)
+KenNetH WONG I would love to give that one a try, but I currently haven't planned to do so yet. I still got a bunch of other bags still waiting to be reviewed 😉
Thanks for your reply, and I'm looking forward to watching your review. :)
Hey Waseem,
Thank you very much.
Where did you get that Deer head at 2:06? It looks insane!
+Jack Baker I bought it. From a store called butler's here in Hamburg. There are many different animals made out of this teddy bear material
You´re a great reviewer and your videos look very nice and clean! Keep it up!
Great review man! Now I don't want the bag anyway! How could they not make this bag stand up when they gave it such an opening mechanism? It was made for a bag that stands up!
the spare space in the laptop compartment can be used for thicker laptops, not everyone has a thin laptops like the Macbooks or so
+Dao Quang that could be true, but that extra space is almost triangular shaped. So there will always be some space left at the middle even if the laptop is thicker
yeah true lol... anyway you did a great job from reviewing details to video quality. Keep up the good work man!
+Dao Quang thank you very much. And thanks for commenting. ✌😉
I like your review, will you be doing a review on THE NORTH FACE: RESISTOR CHARGED BACKPACK?
Hey Antonio,
I haven't planed it yet. I will review the Coalition Backpack, which seems to be in the same realm.
Do a review on the new 28l size
It can stant on its own and as a more flexible exoskeloten and a lock for the opening it also isnt like a shell
I love Carryology and was really eager to see that review. Great Job. It's really a shame about the space lost in the laptop compartment and the fact that it doesn't stand is also a bad point. Well, this is really a great review. Merci or rather Danke!.
Hey,
I'm happy that you like the review. You're welcome ;-) Yes, the bag has some pretty important cons, but I still applaud Northface for being so bold and trying something new. The features are unique and interesting, but some of their day to day practicabilities are debatable of course e.g. the hinge system.
Just came across your channel and this video, absolutely love the way you handled this review. Cheers!
Thank you very much!!! Cheers, Pulin!
Is very useful to find someone who talks about the EVERYDAY USE ... thanks! @Bo Ismono
PD: Can you review the Thule Paramount 29 lt.??
Thank you again ;-) I have seen the Thule Paramount 29L, but I have another almost similar bag coming in which I will review first. After that review I will think about the Thule.
Awesome, thorough review! Well balanced and super informative.
+Martin English thank you very much, Martin.
This bag does have potential with a couple of annoyances aside. The extra space could've be used for an extra laptop compartiment or extra accessory space.
It does have potential. But since it is highly specialised I guess it always will be a niche product.
Bo, I just discovered your channel, great videos of great products! Thanks! Have a look at Ogio Mach 5, its the coolest bagpack IMO, however, I ride a motorbike. Still.
Thank you, Viktor!
I'm thinking of getting a Motorbike license. When I start to ride, I might take a look at that bag ;-)
UR reviews are great man
+Sneh Juneja thank you very much 😉 ✌️
Great review! I was wondering if this bag can be used to carry some clothes (say for an overnight stay or for a couple of days). The main compartment looked a little small.
+Aditya Bhat thank you very much. The main compartment is actually not that big. But you can fit some clothes in there for an overnight stay.
informative video Bo.
Thanks man. For now I have my eyes on GR1 21L and the Topo Daypack. :)
Anurag Prasad The GR1 21L is still one of my favorites. I'm reviewing a couple of more bags in the 21L range. Maybe one of those will be interesting for you as well. Until then don't hesitate to ask more questions. Cheers!
Sorry what is that watch you are wearing? I love it
That's a Steinhart Ocean 500 Titanium.
Thank you! :)
+Achintya Gupta you're very welcome 😉
This was an incredible review, and it helped so much. I am choosing between this and the peak design 30L backpack.
Could you also review the peak design?
Thanks
+Jefferson Rho thanks, Jefferson. I really want to review the Peak design, but I haven't had the chance to test it yet
One of the most important characteristics that people expect from this brand is the weather resistance, no mention in the video......¿? water resistance?
Thanks for this accurate presentation !
Thanks for watching my video 😃
huh, this kind of reminds me of ogio's no drag backpack i got back in 2014. it exactly matches its turtle design.
+Fattymicfatfat true, they look a little bit alike
Thank you for detailed review
Great, honest, review.
+arfmf thanks ✌ 😀
I was looking for a review of this bag. Great video.
I'm really looking forward to get one (even if its quite expensive), but the plastic latch is the only thing that makes me doubt about getting one. Do you think it's critical? How's the bag so far?
- Thanks!
Thank you, Horacio!
I don't know how well the latch will last over time. It really depends on how you use it of course. Kalpesh in the commentsection mentioned that his latch broke after a few month bot northface repaired it. The bag overall is quite cool due to it's features, but the latch is it's Achilles heel.
Very helpful review - thanks!
+Teacher Sherry you are very welcome. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
Schönes Review, insbesondere aufgrund der gut herausgearbeiteten und fairen Kritikpunkte. Kurze Frage: wie heißt die Trinkflasche und bist du mit der beruhigt, dass sie im Access Pack nicht ausläuft?
Danke sehr, Jacob!
Really good video! I was wondering if this would be a good bag for school, could it hold a few binders, papers, text books etc. Thanks!
Yeah, I would be carrying a few big binders and maybe a text book, because most stuff is on Google Drive. But would that work?
+ 1 sub
+Waremblem Gaming you're very welcome. I like to help as much as I can. And thank you very much for the sub!
Really good review! What is the Panasonic camera? Gh4?G7?
+Arda Celik thank you, Arda. I filmed with a Sony a6300, but the camera that you see being packed into the bag is a Panasonic gh4.
I switched to the Sony a6300 for two reasons:
- It is smaller.
Great review! Can I ask what watch you are wearing in this video?
Thanks, mate. That is the Steinhart Ocean 500 Titanium Watch
Cool! Are you planning on doing a review on that one?
Bo Ismono You should try the new ones especially the 28l access ! It is said that the North Face resolved this problem !
He sounds kinda like Coldfusion
Thanks, that is quite the compliment ;-)
Jaime-Andres Burgoa I see, sounds very rational and reasonable ;-) And have you thought about which bag you will use afterwards?
Bo Ismono not yet, but will stay tuned to your channel :)
Jaime-Andres Burgoa Thanks, Jaime. More videos coming soon. The next videos will be a short travel tip mini series ;-)
TNF just released the Access Pack 02. Will you do a review for it?
I'm not planning to do so. Not because I'm not interested, but rather because I only got time for four videos each month and there are still so many bags waiting to be reviewed.
Nice review! Did you replace your Seiko 5 with a titanium Steinhart?
Hey, well seen ;-) I still have the Seiko, but added the Steinhart Ocean Titanium to my collection. Do you own a Steinhart as well?
I have an old ocean one vintage military from Steinhart! I'm guessing we'll see a review of the watch in a while?
+AsianCheeseToaster the vintage is great. I was contemplating between the vintage and the titanium. And decided for the titanium.
I'm just a watch enthusiast, therefore I did not consider to make a watch review. My knowledge about watches is still very little.
Alright! Keep up the good work :)
+AsianCheeseToaster thanks. Will do 😉
Do you collect watches?
Great review!
Thank you, Jan!
Have you ever made an "top 10 backpacks" vid? edc kind.
btw, nice vid.
+Aldo Francesco Spadafora I have done a "favorite bags 1.0" video. Have you seen that one?
Bo Ismono I am going to. thanks dude. Saludos.
this is the recent collection in our shop sir
Bo your reviews are high quality. Look into putting Amazon affiliate links to make money from them.
Probably the best solution is a raincover or an umbrella (which is what I do in the city ;) )
Most backpacks have pretty good water resistant fabric to begin with, but in my experience long exposure to heavy rain will get to every bag to some degree.
Let me know if you have any more questions ;-)
Cheers,
Bo
thank you for commenting me back and your fantastic suggestions I will look into roll top / dry bag backpacks
Cool, let me know if you have any more questions
Will you do a review of the new version?
Hey Alessio.
If I get my hands on the new one I might do a video. But it's not on my priority list. There are still so many other bags that need to be reviewed first
First, great review video & excellent execution!
I like how easy you can open the bag, but at the same time worried stuff got stolen easily when commute.. Also the bag alone is heavy :(
+Gabriel Fung (qbgabe12) thank you very much, Gabriel. The weight on the bag isn't that bad compared to other bags, but I agree with you completely on the opening.
I tried it on in a outlet today, weight definitely not an issue - but it definitely look hugeeeeeee on my back -__- ( i am 167cm)
+Gabriel Fung (qbgabe12) yeah. Totally know what you mean. I'm also just about 170cm
Bo Ismono i have a question: witch is better for daily use, the the north face borealis or the patagonia chacabuco? i mean daily use, like laptop and books for college!
I answered your question in the other comment ;-)
very detail, good job
+Han Wei Chen thanks, Han.
Awesome!!! what a great review
+smith John thank you very much, John. ✌😉
please review Eagle Creek DoubleBack 22 Wheeled Backpack (if you can get your hands on them)
+Zacky Mokhtar hey Zacky.
If I get a review unit, I will make a review. Eagle Creek bags sure do look interesting.
Have you reviewed the seeker?
+Ricardo Jose Dorado I haven't yet unfortunately
That Turtle Joke! :D btw Can you do Lowepro 22l AW review? There are not so many in depth videos about it even if that backpack is pretty popular.. :) Thanks!
+SnehalWagh the next photo bags that I will review are the Tamarac g32 and another one from Thule. I'm not sure yet if I will review the lowepro. I will think about it as soon as I finish the other reviews.
That would be great! ^_^
nice review! totally agree with the turtle part. ;)
+mindgames thanks ✌️😉
Hey, did you tried the new version of the access bag?
Hello, thanks for the great review. I am considering this back, but I see (thanks to you) the downsides. On your opinion is there a similar, yet better BAckpack? like one that stands, and doesn-t waste much space on the laptop part.
Thanks for watching. Are you looking for a similar bag or a bag in general?
Bo Ismono thanks for your reply. A similar bag. Padded daily similar size
love your watch...which brand and model is it
Thank you very much. That is the Steinhart Ocean 500 Titanium.
Can You Please Review The Kelty Redwing 44L bag? Is it Good For Travel?
fair reviewer! One thing it's lack of cup and bottle, which I regarded as biggest disadvantage.
+Nathan Guo thanks Nathan. You mean a bottle holder on the outside?
Bo Ismono yes, I do need easy access to the water; preferably a side pouch with one hand to reach.
Nathan Guo I see. Which bag do you use?
Bo Ismono Mein is TNF router 2015 version. I have to say I am impressed by the revolutionary updates.
+Nathan Guo Cool. I need to check that one out. Thanks for the tip
nice video and review but you should bring up the highlights a bit
THanks, Danny. I try to cover the "highlights" in "The Good" part, but I feel like that covering the negative aspects of any item better helps in making a buying decision. Usually you already know about the highlights of an item before buying it, but I think it comes down to "can I live with the flaws" of an item. Hope that makes sense.

great review... to bad the bag doesn't have an water bottle pocket on the outside so you don't have to risk getting your tech wet by storing your water on the inside
I'm thinking I might go into the market to get a new school bag as my jansport that I've had for almost 5 years is pretty beat up XD so I'm debating to get a good back pack and I wanted to ask if I should get this or a alternative (must have a laptop sleeve) thanks!
can you do a review on invisible backpack 2?
Hey Ryan.
I've seen the bag. Looks very interesting. I need to finish some other reviews first, and maybe afterwards I can check if I can do a review. But I've seen some good reviews of the bag here on RUclips already.
This was a great review! I decided to pass on this one, the bag does look a little bulky, I love the features though.
Thank you very much, Chris! Totally agree with you on it being bulky but having great features.
Thank you very much! Ill check that right now. Keep it like that with your subscribers! Regards from Puerto Rico
+Abdiel Martinez you're very welcome. Let me know what bag you end up with 😉
Man :( I think i'm going with one from amazon, the Cocoon Slim Backpack but i think i'll have to sell something to buy it because is a little expensive for me.
+Abdiel Martinez cocoon has some nice stuff. I haven't tried their backpack yet. How much is it where you live? It's good to save some money before you purchase an item. It makes you appreciate it a little more. That's essentially how I feel about my goruck. I had to save money for quite a long time before I could get it.
nice review!
Thanks, Maxim!
Fair to say you just saved me a lot of money :)
Hey... cheers to the good review... and will a alienware 15" laptop(including charger) fit in the laptop compartment?
Hey vinay!
+vinay reddy yes, as you can see in the video a 15" MacBook pro fits perfectly 😉
+Bo Ismono okay... thank you!! :)
