  • Yes you can play any old VHS VCR, BETA, or LaserDisc Player on the new modern day SmartTV Televisions. The only thing you need is your movie player and a coaxial cord. That's it! This video shows you how to hook up CONNECT a VCR to a new Smart TV. #vcr #vhs

I can’t thank you enough for this tutorial. My Dad passed on New Years Eve. We found boxes and boxes of vhs home videos as he was always behind the camera taping all our family gatherings. Seriously this is going to be so healing for me..I hope. I got a Phillips Magnavox off eBay haha.

I highly recommend you look into digitizing all of the family vids. You may or may not want to do it yourself but there are services available. I learned to do it since i had the equipment and time. But the reason is to try and preserve it in different formats and backups. The video tape is just another storage device but is deteriorating and film degradation is no joke. Time is of the essence for those home videos. But check out some video tutorials to see if its something you are comfortable doing.

First, WOW! What a great video. You didn’t waste time talking about EVERYTHING ELSE & you were spot on! Now, you may not know the answer to this question but, how important is the Red connector if you are converting VHS tapes to digital via the VIDBOX? it looks like it may only be recording the left audio and not the right.

I've tried this with several different home VHS videos with the same results.

This was great! Very helpful. I have a bit of trouble with mine still. I have a symphonic vcr/dvd player and a HiSense TV. I didn’t have a coax cable, so I tried the audio/video cables. The display was compatible, but after a couple minutes my vcr would turn off! I got the blue display screen before you press play, but then it would shut down. Would this happen if I used the coax cable too? If my tv isn’t on the corresponding input (AV), the vcr itself will stay on for hours. I’m confused if it’s a compatibility issue. Would appreciate any advice or suggestions!❤️

Yesterday, to simplify process I bought a RCA to HDMI converter and my tv screen reads no signal. I think that the converter only works if the RCA input is from a digital source and is converted to a HDMI output. Hi8 tapes are Analog, am I correct with the above? I have an Emerson player #EWV403. I've been looking for videos to see how to connect to my tv. Lots of them show the front and how to use it, not how to connect it to a tv. Your video is the only one that shows a back that looks exactly like mine. The cable with red, white and yellow can only use the white and yellow on our players. Then, you said to use the red on the other end on the TV. Please show where you place all the colored ends on both the TV and player. I have an old Vizio tv someone gave me that doesn't have yellow input on the front, only red and white. It has other colored input places, but no yellow.

In the thumbnail, I saw what looked like an inked barcode on the tape guard. This kind of inked barcode was from a duplication company called *Premiere Video* , and this style of inked barcode was used during the company's final years (approximately 2000-2004) before QC Media Services acquired the company in 2003 or 2004. Some of Premiere Video's clients during that time included:
    Acorn Media
    Anchor Bay Entertainment
    Fox Lorber Films
    Gaiam
    Ignatius Press Video
    Kultur
    MPI Home Video
    National Geographic
    TM Books & Video
    Troma Team Video
    Wellspring
    World Wrestling Entertainment Home Video
These are just a few examples. There may have been more companies that worked with Premiere Video during the 2000's. And speaking of Gaiam, I see you showed a Gaiam tape in this upload that just so happened to be duplicated by Premiere Video!

Great video everything proven people like myself are fixing broken vhs tapes with Scotch tape it starts playing again with out no problem's keep your mode switche clean out in your VCR player if you don't know what a mode switch is you can go online and say how clean out a mode switch in a VCR player

Hello. I was unable to contact. I have a Samsung tv about 4 years old and a Go Video vhs cd player I got off a seller. I hooked up the coaxial and the colored plugs put on on channel 3 and nothing. Any ideas? Thank you

Try AV in if you used the colored plugs!
