    Day 9 of no THC. I feel this weird discomfort in the chest area and like there’s a lump in my throat. Could be anxiety but I’m pretty determined to keep going. My sleep has improved, I can remember dreams again and I’m slowly starting to feel like myself again. Life’s not so bad. Can’t wait for the withdrawal symptoms to go away and to feel better. I originally started smoking because of anxiety only to make my anxiety worse by smoking. Not sure if I’ll ever smoke again, but I’m not worried about it, I like being present in the moment and actually feeling alive again.

    I honestly think people like Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg would still be a success without weed or alcohol. It's the person behind the talent. Not the substance they use making them talented. I'd still love there talent if they weren't addicted to anything. Think of all the talented people drugs and alcohol ended up destroying or killing. Some great song writers or actors died so young. When people see that and say what a shame, such talent just waisted and gone now forever.

  • @brandonpotter4641
    @brandonpotter4641 2 года назад +5

    When you say 'successful,' I think it would be beneficial to specify, 'monetarily successful' instead. Just because someone makes a lot of money doesn't necessarily mean they're successful. A lot of people think it does, but that's not the case. It's possible to be filthy rich and absolutely miserable. Inner wealth is more important than monetary wealth. Physical and emotional health is more important than money most times. I'm sure you understand this, but it would be helpful to specify for a little additional clarity

I always feel better when I give up weed, specially the first few days(apart from the lost of appetite and sleep). My cognition increases, social anxiety decreases, I can communicate better and my motivation goes through the roof. After sometime of no weed though, I may start feeling a bit too edgy and it becomes harder for me to enjoy myself and just relax which is not a bad thing for someone who is not where they want to be in life. Quitting is not supposed to be easy or enjoyable at times but the pros outweighs the cons for me. I wonder if Dr. Frank is Christian or if he has any spiritual guidance surrounding addiction. It’s perfectly fine if not, I just have found that my spiritual life following Jesus has been the key to success in my addictions to porn, weed, and nicotine. These addictions are largely socially accepted but Dr. Frank’s values show that he is very counter cultural and that is the thesis of what Christianity should be. The idea that we can live our own lives perfectly fine alone and ignore people making suggestions that lead to more health in our lives is toxic and I’ve found that my Christian faith has led me to more communal living and reconciliation with hard relationships. Either way, I think that Dr. Frank is either knowingly or unknowingly confirming true biblical values. We can’t do this stuff alone, we need some help. Look outside yourself and see that you’re part of a much bigger story than just surviving to cope with hard emotions that push us towards vices. I use things like contemplation on scripture, meditating to feel the presence of God, and finally picking up my own cross of addiction and putting those issues to death in my life.

    I normally think what you have to say is beneficial but god this video was awful. These guys have a point, it’s not your business what they do, so don’t use them as examples. Just because you are “more successful” in quitting substances does not mean what you have to say is somehow valid as compared to the points they make.

      They literally make it other people's business when they work in the public realm. They open themselves up to criticism whether they like it or not. Using them as examples of influential people 'justifying' their addictions is totally valid for a channel trying to educate people about addiction.
