Hey, new subbie here! I was NOT expecting to see your locs on the ground at the end!! They were so beautiful! However, hair can grow back, and yours is still amazing!
YOU HAVE BEEN INSPIRATION TO LOC WITH SISTERLOCS AND I AM SO HAPPY - THANKYOU FOR THIS REVIEW , THIS HAS BEEN A STRUGGLE TO DECIDE IF AND HOW I SHOULD LOC MY HAIR - THANK YOU
girl i love these sistlocks i agree with Nejuan. just watching your sisterlocks video has inspired me. I've had friends with traditional and some have went to the sisterlocks. i' m loving mine myself. But you have to do you. And its in corporate america now i work with upper management executives that have locks.I'm loving my journey.
I love your channel and love both sets of yours. My goodness, what an ending to this video tho!!! I really enjoyed it! Your so creative with your styles so I'm taking notes
I completely understand why you did the big chop my sister lock is bunching and they still have puffy ends. but im not going to cut them bc I really love my hair and I went through the short hair stage already. Ive had my sisterlocks for 1 year and 3 months and if it stays puffy forever I will learn to love it. You are really inspirational and I cant wait to see how your journey goes with traditional locks. I kind of regret not just getting reg. lock like my other bros and sis. Good luck again!
Oh Lawd!!! I almost had a heart attack at the end when you cut them all off!!! I just got my test locks on Tuesday and can't wait till the 3rd to start my SL journey!! Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much! Hopefully your Sisterlocks Consultant will correct them and eventually the bunched ends should start to condense. All the best on your continued journey!
I've been wanting SL...Finally someone posted a video with the same texture hair that I have! I have been worried about them slipping or coming down. Love the video, you a lot gave me a heart attack at the end when you did the big chop. Still Gorgeous !
Beautiful video...the pictures, the editing, the music! I had traditional locks twice and am starting another set with loc extensions at the end of the month. I loved all the styles you had. Definitely subscribing.
Are you moisturizing your scalp and locs? Water and a sealant like Shea Butter? Also, focus on the inside out. Drink lots of water, at least your body weight in ounces per day and includes vegetables and nuts in your diet. If you're doing all those and still have issues, visit an African-American Dermatologist.
You should see a Sisterlock consultant and discuss this. I would say see a Sisterlock consultant first, because if you decide to get Sisterlocks and change your mind you can combine and have larger locks after. Not so easy the other way around.
I started conditioning them in the end just to try new products but you're not suppose to condition them or put any moisturizing products on Sisterlocks.
Wow, I hope you grew them back. I've been natural well let me say without any chemicals since 2009. My hair is not the length it should be now but I don't wear it out either. For over a year now I have been wearing braids and twists in different styles, I really want to loc my hair and after watching this video and a the many styles you can create I think I am.
I was so glad to watch your video....we share the same hair texture, so it has helped me tremendously with some sort of idea as to how mine may turn out....but then the end of your video😢
Thanks a lot! Yeah having my 'fro for a few weeks was fun but I really missed my locs. Loose natural hair is too much to maintain for my lifestyle, lol
curlynugrowth how many sisterlocs did you have? I just did diy by way of two-strand twist and sometimes u feel like they’re too big but they may still turn out as thin as I want. My parts are a little smaller than yours were.
Girl omg your sisterlocs were BEAUTIFUL...those pics right there ALMOST made me have some regrets about not at least trying those instead of the traditional sized ones...ALMOST lol but i am loving the set you have now and the fact you can provide some insight and encourgement for pretty much everyone but uhhhh what color did use for your sister locs..the purple toned color? I likey
Hi sis. I just checked out your video and I love your sisterlocs omg, they looked so beautiful on you. Have you every thought about regrowing them back?
I am considering getting this done.. As my hair is very fine and soft I am not sure sure whether to go with regular dreds or whether sister locks would work better for me.? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks for sharing your lovely vid.
I loved, loved, loved your sisterlocks! Watching your videos is what convinced me to start mine 2 years ago! I hate the bunching as well. I used to trim them but have some uneven locs that I also hate. My hair is now shoulder length and almost to my bra strap in the back so I'm trying to grow it out some more before I do anymore trimming. Any plans to restart yours? BTW how did you get the "coily curls"?
+Stacey Mallory I'm pretty sure I'll never get Sisterlocks again. The bunching is from using bad products, in my case conditioner. My ends were curly because that's the texture of my hair and what didn't end up locking.
You can visit my blog and there is a "CONTACT" tab that will email me directly or you can message me through my Facebook Fan Page. The links are in the video description box. :)
Thank you for sharing your journey! Hoping to find someone as skilled as you did to start with. How much did they charge you to begin? How often did you have to go back to the loctician and how much did it cost each time?
I have been thinking about them for almost 10 years now and have finally decided to take the plunge. Next month I will be getting them installed. Do you like the sister locs or traditional locs better?
+Cee Dent I just got sisterlocks in Dec 2015, and I love them! I will say one big pro of sisterlocks is that you get the "look" of locs that are more mature sooner. I think it has to do with the hair being in small sections. Of course hair fewer hairs can fully fuse and cling together faster than greater amount of hairs.
Just one question. . I have heard of women having hair installed for their sisterlocs. Was this the case with you. If so...what kind of hair did she use..either way ..your hair journey was gorgeous.
Thank you! Yes, Sisterlocks are "installed" in the sense that it takes hours to establish each individual Sisterlock, because at minimum you should have 400 Sisterlocks. As an example, my "installation" or establishment took 36 hours over two days.
gabrielle johnson Yes, I went every 6-8 weeks to have my Sisterlocks retightened. My hair texture is soft so it is prone to frizziness and towards the end I started using conditioner on my locs and coloring them which caused a lot of slippage and bunching.

Your sister locks are so bomb! I love them!!
Thank you so much! That journey came to an end to start new beginnings.
Thanks for the tips! I became a Sisterlocks Consultant and learned a lot about the issues with my Sisterlocks. But I've since cut them off.

Glad to be inspiring! :) I'm not sure of the actual number but as you can see in the beginning of the video is was a good 7-8 inches.

Such a Inspiration! How many inches did you start off with when you had them installed ?
I am considering getting this done.. As my hair is very fine and soft I am not sure sure whether to go with regular dreds or whether sister locks would work better for me.? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks for sharing your lovely vid.
How will you begin your new locks? Will they be small or large? I cant wait!I want to start mines with someone to follow. we'll see.
Thank you! :)
I love your sisterlocks! They look soft. Do you condition them or do something else to keep them soft?
If I could have my locs come out like yours my life would be perfect. And then you cut them omg

I have been thinking about them for almost 10 years now and have finally decided to take the plunge. Next month I will be getting them installed. Do you like the sister locs or traditional locs better?
I like to always say locs are a lifestyle, so it's not a matter of "better" but rather what's more fitting for your lifestyle.
Cee Dent let me know if u like them and how much u pay
Halo this was such good advice !
l love your hair!!! I would like to know who started your sisterlocks?
Cant wait for my to get this long

How much does it cost for installation
Did you have the option of keeping your ends curly?
So why did you cut your hair? It was so beautiful?
were u maintaining them regularly? Why did they start to look bushy? Is that ultimately what happens? Sorry im ignorant regarding locs
gabrielle johnson Yes, I went every 6-8 weeks to have my Sisterlocks retightened. My hair texture is soft so it is prone to frizziness and towards the end I started using conditioner on my locs and coloring them which caused a lot of slippage and bunching.
welcome.
I followed you on ig and showed SOOOO much love but didn't get anything in return....not even a thank you. Just thought I'd let you know that
