So merging collectors shouldnt be that big of a problem but I still think we are a couple town halls away from needing to do that like maybe 2
The main thing that I don't like is that once you reach TH12 you never get any more army camps, cannons, archer towers, or any other building from previous townhalls. The best thing about the early game is watching your village grow, but TH 11 is basically the last town hall, where you get more stuff from previous THs, so Your village doesn't really grow anymore. This could be a space problem, but I do not think they will increase the size because then they would have to change all of the sceneries. I just wish our village continued to grow.
Idk I personally like to not have to upgrade 10 archers towers twice for 8 days each and having to deal with the stress I get after knowing it has another level with 10 days upgrade time And knowing I can't progress to the next townhall level cuz I have 15 canons to upgrade also twice
The reason that they removed the extra barracks was not just for space, it was also the percent damage, they (Supercell) wants to keep the damage percent from going below one percent per building. if they had more than 100 buildings (excluding walls) then they would have to add 0.1-9 percent's into the damage. It could have also been for space, but it was a two way update.

I don't think players will love this solution, since they are showing the obstacles off; no one will casually visit BB. I think a better solution is to increase the size of the edges, it won't affect the actual game play but we will be able to have a space for the obstacles
Making the 4 army camps into 1 seems so free, they don’t drop loot when destroyed, they get pretty much 1 shot by any troop on attack so ur not sacrificing any defense, and they are 4x4 so it would free up so much space
I mean just let you only have one and make the progression more consistent because it’s +10, +5; tiny increments then jumps by like 80-100 when you unlock an new one. They can just give 15-30 extra every level

As important as it will eventually be to start shrinking things to make expanding the game possible, it is kind of a shame. One of my favorite things about visiting the highest level bases as a lower level was seeing these enormous fortresses that took up the entire field, it always looked so crazy. It would be really cool if they found a way to increase the map size without making attacks too complex, maybe adding a second layer like in the builder base that would give you extra stars and loot
this creates a problem bro, as Darian said they don't want the entire base to be 100% defense filled. merging collectiors, drills and other things would make the base has more defensive components that can ruin the way pathing works, if this thing gets implemented then there is actually no use of any building tbh that can mess your attack due to improper funneling, As a legend league player myself I have seen attack fails when queen doesn't go the right way due to these extra non defensive structures, time fails due to trash buildings, etc. this is the reason why they are doing this

The problem with merging other defenses is that it may actually harm your base. For examplez merging Wizard Towers might make a Bat attack easier because thats one less building to take down before your Bats swarm in
electro wizard tower, make the splash also attack bigger, make it attack faster, give it higher hp, give it a slow, plenty ways to do it just requires lots lots lots lots lots of testing probably
Theres still plent of buildings that could be removed if need be, like they could combine all hero alters into one building and upgrade that with dark elixir to get more heroes, kind of like the pet house, and then assign where the heroes should defend by placing them somewhere around the map, of course theres also all the collectors and storages which would certainly make bases smaller hut might also cause some other issues, like a lack of regular buildings to use to protect defenses
Supercell could create a Hero Hall that consist of everything to upgrade or change about a hero. The Hall could allow players to upgrade heroes, hero equipment, and pets. And Assign, Skins, Pets and Equipment to each hero.
Hot take: don’t upgrade your walls after level 12, the reason being so is because there’s so many things such as battle machines, troops, spells, etc that just destroy your walls in a matter of seconds regardless of if they’re max or not. To me I see no point so just save your gold and elixir
Gotta disagree here. Yes it is a pain to upgrade every wall and it is far from a priority, but it is also a great way to not waste gold / elixir when you are using all your builders and containers are full (ideally, you want your upgrades to be spaced out in time so you have a free builder every 2 days for example, enabling a few walls to be upgraded before a building). Also, it avoids battle machines like wall wrecker or log launcher to one shot your walls but having to 2 or 3 shot it, gaining a bit of time that can matter a lot in an attack.

Im an obstacle horder th13 playing since release. I like all the new ways of saving and creating more space. But at th17 or somtime later on, i wouldnt mind seeing a base size increase when you upgrade to said townhall, only 1 or 2 squares, but 1 with eqch th would be good. I bet sceneries wouldnt be very hard to englare/scale up.
My idea is that they could do something like the two areas in the builder base for example the path on the right, next to the clan games and the merchant could go to that next area but it was spilt into to parts one is where the troops go to get sent to other members of your clan and the other goes on to the next area. ( and you can’t see the end of the first pathway like the one in the game right now)
To put it short and sweet. No, the game will never run out of space, reason? They add an extra few lines of squares EVERY big update, or every other huge update. ^ From a Supercell employee.
Imagine being able to stack buildings on top of storages, it would buff the hp of the building, but reduce space at the same time, and it could be just a flat out +1000 hp to make it less complicated, maybe changing the storages to only give loot when completely destroyed, similar to the clan castle to reduce downsides
I hope they end up allowing you to merge things at lower town halls, feel like it could be interesting but not completely necessary. I wonder if they'd consider merging army camps, so instead of 4x4 they're 5x5. Maybe it'll be too big but it does reduce the total space used. The idea I want to see most is like what they did with builder huts and town Hall, give utility buildings offensive power, and multiple uses. I doubt people would like what I'm about to say but I think it'd be cool to have some customisation with merging. For example, you can merge a wizard tower with another tower of your choice, so all bases would be slightly different.

I think the best ways are: 1. continue with merging, maybe not only defences. (Maybe th and eagle) 2. Remove some army camps and/or shrink them to 3*3 size
What they could do is just add a 3rd villiage, the main villiage would still get built upon, but not as much since th16 takes a while to fully max. The third villiage could be a goblin-base, a sort of story from the goblins that first attacked you back in th1
Could totally make it so each base has multiple sections when you reach a certain town hall. like how clan capital or builder base got different sections you need to attack. That way the game can get more complex and grow without being limited. If they keep adding more buildings it’ll finally feel like we are building a city and battling another persons city. That way bases can become even more unique
i honestly hope they lower the army camp number, 1 more space which is great, they could just increase the cost of the camps to balance the progression. and another reason which you mentioned, especially on higher housing space troops like pekkas, electro dragons and golems, sometimes youll end up with a camp with maybe 1 wizard in it or nothing at all which couldve just been condensed into another camp, it makes sense that troops do take other camps because of housing space limits per camp but they could change it to overflow for 1 troop or something maybe.
They should merge the gold mines and elixir pumps since theres 7 of each. If they make it so theres once of each that could produce both gold and elixir better than 7 individual buildings it would clear up alot of space. Dead bases will stay dead for farming low leagues, and these op mine pump merge things will be even more op for farming, and we will have 12 free spaces. Triple W
I think it would be a good idea for clash to make another viillage, new the new village has new game play styles and is the same size as the old village, but trohpies and ressources in this new village will go hand in hand with your home village, but when raiding you wont be expected to raid the home village only the new village. Its like having the trophies you get in builder base added on to your home village stats and the loot would be the same.
the solution is very simple, technically you could just change all 4x4 tile buildings to 3x3, and change all 3x3 building to a 2x2 tile space and leaving builder huts 2x2 allowing for more space
I feel like moving buildings would be easier with high crowding if you could stash building like a decoration like when you used to be able to sell them
They can take the 4 army camps and combine them and chuck on the side still applying upgrades to them to expand the army which is why we upgrade it but its really just for aesthetic tbh and we can still see that but from the side, as an idea.
I think they’ll move barracks and army camp to the outside of the base with the shop and everything. Obviously you would still have to be able to upgrade them, and they would probably have to reduce the army camps to one.
If you move both barracks, remove three army camps and move the last plus the spell factories they get room for 8 more buildings. That’s probably enough for two more th lvls if they decide to merge more defences aswell.
maybe something like a building storage could be possible, so you arent allowed to place more then a specific amount (100?) of buildings/defenses, but you could still add more new buildings and bases could be more individual and strategic

here's something I don't see anyone suggesting: what if you could merge walls? they're kind of already irrelevant anyways so it doesn't even matter but what if you could merge a bunch together and make em twice as strong or have them deflect dmg from melee troops

When I first read it I thught u were joking But in a way it kinda makes sense like u got pets and hero equipment all used upgraded and unlocked thrugh one building Unlike troops and spell where they are 4 separate section 2 for each one of them and to unlock them u have to upgrade each of the 4 different things and to upgrade them u need to upgrade one thing (lab) and to use them and more of them u need to upgrade 4 different things doin the same purpose (army camp) (and only goes for troops) they could theoretically put all of this in one building but this kinda gonna brake the game In a way where u upgrade this building and u can't do anything while it's upgrading

Not a problem at all actually some time ago I believe around TH-11 update, the base map was expanded so they could actually do it as many times more as they wanted to.
they could just expand the outside area by 2-4 tiles so the cakes, trees and other objects could be put there. and obstacles could also spawn there. it wouldn't make the bases look too hard to look at and it would add some space
The best idea, I believe, would be to overhaul the entire Clash of Clans (COC). The first thing that comes to mind is that Clans should be able to engage in wars with any type of Town Hall. In other words, you could have wars with TH9, and only players with TH9 or higher could participate. Defenses would be based on the maximum allowed by TH9, meaning if you have TH7 walls, you would face TH7 walls, but if you have TH10 walls, you would face TH9 walls. This would allow players to relax in Town Halls where everything is maxed while they progress through the Town Hall levels. After that, what I would do is, starting from TH10, introduce branching paths and different types of Town Halls, such as Elemental Town Halls, Themed Town Halls like a Goblin TH, Golem TH, etc. Town Halls for whatever comes to mind. The idea would be to make defense a key point and simplify the analysis of attacks. I feel that COC is too linear and limits the potential of lower-level Town Halls too much. There is very little exploration of troop variations, heroes, and settings. There wouldn't even need to be many differences; it could simply involve transitioning to a Goblin TH, where many troops take on Goblin skins. They can streamline everything to something simple, with differences mainly in some key defenses, such as the Eagle Artillery, the Giga Inferno, X-Bows, Infernos, or Catapults. I believe that with these branching paths, they would breathe new life into the game.
I honestly thought I was going insane when I started playing again, because I swore that I remember there being 4 barracks and that I thought they were really pointless.
I think that later the barracks going to be one barracks and the armycamp is going to be one so all tropps gets to be in, i think also that storage and more is going to be smaller and spellbaracks is going to merge into a sort of lab
i think if they start to run out of space, they can put the barracks, dark barracks, spell factories, and army camps on the outside of the base like the loot cart or the weekly deals building. these building are necessary in the game but arent totally necassary for defence and attacks.

My main concern with merging Camps is...where tf do the troops go? Like, seeing all the troops there, counting them and realizing that there are actually that many troops, like the exact amount that you trained, this is such a beautiful aspect of the game. We cant get rid of it.

I don't like getting rid of everything/merging. hear me out: one super elixir colector and super mine (a fusion) . You can upgrade 2 things on the building like capacity and production ( and health ofc is included with every upgrade) , one army camp or . Idk maybe supercell needs to merge building more and more to keep the base under 100 buildings. imagine combined barracks xd.
I think my theory is the buildings like defenses and storage can be Moved into builder base but the builder base gonna become more complex because of those defenses are in the builder base and long attack
But that makes the main base less relevant if your just farming you have no reason to not go to the main base because lots of loot was moved to the builder base which is significantly quicker to attack and has less defenses.
What they should do is just keep adding more levels to everything even tho it would be extremely costly, but that’s why they should add more levels to walls defenses resources barracks etc.
if they increase tile count, they are also subjected to increase time for attack, issue is how this will affect lower th's since they won't be needing this due to abundance of space
I think supercell should add some defense features on unnecessary building like the builder hut and merging 2 defense make it 3 times stronger it will make things better
hot take: to make walls more relevant, supercell should actually nerf the wall health. its because massive health walls has, that troops like pekka, valkyrie, giant, golem, and others to be irrelevant at higher th, as they will stuck at the wall most of the time. but together with this update, supercell needs to nerf wallbreaker, log launcher, and other wall breaking troops (like wall dmg x5 instead x40). with this, the wall breaking troop are just for convenience, not a must for funneling
Ngl as someone who wants to stay at th11 it makes me sad buildings are being removed like the barracks, one day my th11 now will be the size of a th9 if "not needed" buildings keep getting removed.
Just merge the collectors, make the production rate the same, but increase the capacity, this will make it appealing for players to merge them as its a viable choice for all as u get more space while still benefitting u with the capacity.

Adding decimals was not the issue it's just that they don't want buildings to go up to 101 above

Yes it is a pain to upgrade every wall and it is far from a priority, but it is also a great way to not waste gold / elixir when you are using all your builders and containers are full (ideally, you want your upgrades to be spaced out in time so you have a free builder every 2 days for example, enabling a few walls to be upgraded before a building).
Also, it avoids battle machines like wall wrecker or log launcher to one shot your walls but having to 2 or 3 shot it, gaining a bit of time that can matter a lot in an attack.

Now indeed, we can all agree that their insane cost at upper levels are simply there to slow down progression, specifically for maxed out villages, until a future upgrade, in the same way that there are way too many hero levels.
In that regards, considering other effects for walls like other comments suggested (damage when destroyed, deflecting some attacks or else) would be a good way to make them more meaningful, but I don't think it's the purpose of walls for now in the eyes of Supercell (maybe one day tho, who knows).
Im an obstacle horder th13 playing since release. I like all the new ways of saving and creating more space. But at th17 or somtime later on, i wouldnt mind seeing a base size increase when you upgrade to said townhall, only 1 or 2 squares, but 1 with eqch th would be good. I bet sceneries wouldnt be very hard to englare/scale up.
My idea is that they could do something like the two areas in the builder base for example the path on the right, next to the clan games and the merchant could go to that next area but it was spilt into to parts one is where the troops go to get sent to other members of your clan and the other goes on to the next area. ( and you can’t see the end of the first pathway like the one in the game right now)

Imagine being able to stack buildings on top of storages, it would buff the hp of the building, but reduce space at the same time, and it could be just a flat out +1000 hp to make it less complicated, maybe changing the storages to only give loot when completely destroyed, similar to the clan castle to reduce downsides
Or maybe it just gives a range increase and they have separate hp
Come to think of it, the shovel of obstacles made me start stashing obstacles thus freeing up more space
I hope they end up allowing you to merge things at lower town halls, feel like it could be interesting but not completely necessary. I wonder if they'd consider merging army camps, so instead of 4x4 they're 5x5. Maybe it'll be too big but it does reduce the total space used.
The idea I want to see most is like what they did with builder huts and town Hall, give utility buildings offensive power, and multiple uses.
I doubt people would like what I'm about to say but I think it'd be cool to have some customisation with merging. For example, you can merge a wizard tower with another tower of your choice, so all bases would be slightly different.
iirc army camps actually used to be 5x5, but were reduced down to 4x4.

I think the best ways are:
1. continue with merging, maybe not only defences. (Maybe th and eagle)
2. Remove some army camps and/or shrink them to 3*3 size
What they could do is just add a 3rd villiage, the main villiage would still get built upon, but not as much since th16 takes a while to fully max. The third villiage could be a goblin-base, a sort of story from the goblins that first attacked you back in th1

Could totally make it so each base has multiple sections when you reach a certain town hall. like how clan capital or builder base got different sections you need to attack. That way the game can get more complex and grow without being limited.
If they keep adding more buildings it’ll finally feel like we are building a city and battling another persons city.

i honestly hope they lower the army camp number, 1 more space which is great, they could just increase the cost of the camps to balance the progression. and another reason which you mentioned, especially on higher housing space troops like pekkas, electro dragons and golems, sometimes youll end up with a camp with maybe 1 wizard in it or nothing at all which couldve just been condensed into another camp, it makes sense that troops do take other camps because of housing space limits per camp but they could change it to overflow for 1 troop or something maybe.
They should merge the gold mines and elixir pumps since theres 7 of each. If they make it so theres once of each that could produce both gold and elixir better than 7 individual buildings it would clear up alot of space. Dead bases will stay dead for farming low leagues, and these op mine pump merge things will be even more op for farming, and we will have 12 free spaces. Triple W
I guess I faintly remember during the introduction of new upgrade of Th13 or 14 coc increase the base layout by tiles which is barely noticeable
I think it would be a good idea for clash to make another viillage, new the new village has new game play styles and is the same size as the old village, but trohpies and ressources in this new village will go hand in hand with your home village, but when raiding you wont be expected to raid the home village only the new village. Its like having the trophies you get in builder base added on to your home village stats and the loot would be the same.

the solution is very simple, technically you could just change all 4x4 tile buildings to 3x3, and change all 3x3 building to a 2x2 tile space and leaving builder huts 2x2 allowing for more space
I feel like moving buildings would be easier with high crowding if you could stash building like a decoration like when you used to be able to sell them
after townhall 14, every time you upgrade your townhall, it expands the building area by 1 square ring around the whole map

They can take the 4 army camps and combine them and chuck on the side still applying upgrades to them to expand the army which is why we upgrade it but its really just for aesthetic tbh and we can still see that but from the side, as an idea.
I think they’ll move barracks and army camp to the outside of the base with the shop and everything. Obviously you would still have to be able to upgrade them, and they would probably have to reduce the army camps to one.
If you move both barracks, remove three army camps and move the last plus the spell factories they get room for 8 more buildings. That’s probably enough for two more th lvls if they decide to merge more defences aswell.

I think isn't a problem, they can still merge elixir collector & gold collectors, army camp and gold/elixir deposit.
I wish they could do that, but they probably won't due to farming issues, and loot capacity, during raids being and imbalance.

Maybe merging builder huts into a single building where you have the apprentice along with 6 of your builders and assigning them to your defenses to help them stay in the fight.

Big change would be merging mines and storages but that would change farming almost completely and they will have to make big changes to attacking and farming to not break the game completely

Unlike troops and spell where they are 4 separate section 2 for each one of them and to unlock them u have to upgrade each of the 4 different things and to upgrade them u need to upgrade one thing (lab) and to use them and more of them u need to upgrade 4 different things doin the same purpose (army camp) (and only goes for troops) they could theoretically put all of this in one building but this kinda gonna brake the game In a way where u upgrade this building and u can't do anything while it's upgrading

Why remove this buildings ? Coz imo they serve no purpose other than unlocking the troop/spell
You can do everything from the button above your attack button
You can train your army, spells, seige, without once touching barracks or spell fac or workshop
So why keep the building instead let's say if you want to unlock edrags, you go to army training click on edrag and you get the upgrade cost (same price of barracks) and the time and you don't need a building just to unlock a troop/spell and keep the spaces blank which cannot be unlocked at your th
You can even upgrade troop/spells if you press i above the troop and you can upgrade its level so you don't even need lab but lab can stay or it might confuse some people barracks and spell facs can go

Not a problem at all actually some time ago I believe around TH-11 update, the base map was expanded so they could actually do it as many times more as they wanted to.
they could just expand the outside area by 2-4 tiles so the cakes, trees and other objects could be put there. and obstacles could also spawn there. it wouldn't make the bases look too hard to look at and it would add some space

I think it’s fine to make big changes like changing map size and attack time as long as it is exclusive for very high townhall levels
The best idea, I believe, would be to overhaul the entire Clash of Clans (COC). The first thing that comes to mind is that Clans should be able to engage in wars with any type of Town Hall. In other words, you could have wars with TH9, and only players with TH9 or higher could participate. Defenses would be based on the maximum allowed by TH9, meaning if you have TH7 walls, you would face TH7 walls, but if you have TH10 walls, you would face TH9 walls. This would allow players to relax in Town Halls where everything is maxed while they progress through the Town Hall levels.
After that, what I would do is, starting from TH10, introduce branching paths and different types of Town Halls, such as Elemental Town Halls, Themed Town Halls like a Goblin TH, Golem TH, etc. Town Halls for whatever comes to mind. The idea would be to make defense a key point and simplify the analysis of attacks. I feel that COC is too linear and limits the potential of lower-level Town Halls too much. There is very little exploration of troop variations, heroes, and settings. There wouldn't even need to be many differences; it could simply involve transitioning to a Goblin TH, where many troops take on Goblin skins. They can streamline everything to something simple, with differences mainly in some key defenses, such as the Eagle Artillery, the Giga Inferno, X-Bows, Infernos, or Catapults. I believe that with these branching paths, they would breathe new life into the game.
I honestly thought I was going insane when I started playing again, because I swore that I remember there being 4 barracks and that I thought they were really pointless.
I think that later the barracks going to be one barracks and the armycamp is going to be one so all tropps gets to be in, i think also that storage and more is going to be smaller and spellbaracks is going to merge into a sort of lab

i think if they start to run out of space, they can put the barracks, dark barracks, spell factories, and army camps on the outside of the base like the loot cart or the weekly deals building. these building are necessary in the game but arent totally necassary for defence and attacks.
One day, some where in the future the barracks and army camps will be placed to the outside of the base just like Boom beach.

My main concern with merging Camps is...where tf do the troops go? Like, seeing all the troops there, counting them and realizing that there are actually that many troops, like the exact amount that you trained, this is such a beautiful aspect of the game. We cant get rid of it.
Honestly they should add an update for you to merge all of your gold mines, elixir collectors and dark elixir drills into a mega version. That would reduce space tremendously.

I don't like getting rid of everything/merging. Eventually it will just turn into only have a town hall and one of each defense.... just expand the base slightly, we used to play this game on iphone 4's with half the display size to modern phones, just make the base 25% bigger and it will last a decade and allow for more creative designs

hear me out: one super elixir colector and super mine (a fusion) . You can upgrade 2 things on the building like capacity and production ( and health ofc is included with every upgrade) , one army camp or . Idk maybe supercell needs to merge building more and more to keep the base under 100 buildings. imagine combined barracks xd.

I think my theory is the buildings like defenses and storage can be Moved into builder base but the builder base gonna become more complex because of those defenses are in the builder base and long attack
But that makes the main base less relevant if your just farming you have no reason to not go to the main base because lots of loot was moved to the builder base which is significantly quicker to attack and has less defenses.
What they should do is just keep adding more levels to everything even tho it would be extremely costly, but that’s why they should add more levels to walls defenses resources barracks etc.
I mean they could merge storages and mines but the problem with that is that it will completely change farming

They are combining archer towers and cannons now so they are probably looking to solve the problem whilst also adding more towers
just allow the space to increase if they successfully max everything to a specific level and pass a certain limit in terms of space usage
if they increase tile count, they are also subjected to increase time for attack, issue is how this will affect lower th's since they won't be needing this due to abundance of space

I think supercell should add some defense features on unnecessary building like the builder hut and merging 2 defense make it 3 times stronger it will make things better
it almost already has, you have to subgigate your decor for the new upgrade station
hot take: to make walls more relevant, supercell should actually nerf the wall health. its because massive health walls has, that troops like pekka, valkyrie, giant, golem, and others to be irrelevant at higher th, as they will stuck at the wall most of the time. but together with this update, supercell needs to nerf wallbreaker, log launcher, and other wall breaking troops (like wall dmg x5 instead x40). with this, the wall breaking troop are just for convenience, not a must for funneling
Ngl as someone who wants to stay at th11 it makes me sad buildings are being removed like the barracks, one day my th11 now will be the size of a th9 if "not needed" buildings keep getting removed.
Just merge the collectors, make the production rate the same, but increase the capacity, this will make it appealing for players to merge them as its a viable choice for all as u get more space while still benefitting u with the capacity.
