    We had a cat like this. She was less than half the size of the other kittens at birth, so we assumed she wouldn't make it, but she was right in there fighting for a nipple! She always stayed small getting to around 4 pounds but she lived to be 18 years old.

    When my daughter was 8, a friend of mine gave her a runt kitten she found on the street, abandoned by her mother. Our vet insisted she was too young and too small to survive and recommended putting her to sleep. My daughter became fierce with determination that the little kitten would live so the vet told her all the work she would have to do to keep her alive. So, my daughter went to the pharmacy and bought children's vitamins and mineral supplements and crushed them to serve an 8th to her everyday. She dewormed her, gave her antibiotics for parasites, fed her with a syringe 💉 and built a sling to carry her around in since the kitten could not walk. She took her to the garden every day and talked to her about birds 🐦, trees 🌳 and butterflies 🦋 . One day, I came home from work and the tiny creature rushed by me like a blur. She didn't walk, but rather she ran everywhere. They were inseparable for the next 18 years. In the end, the cat outlived the vet.

      He had to be put down, sadly! I followed the updates! His heart was too large and breathing became a problem !They tried a number of things, but knew he was spiraling down words ! And so not have him suffer , they decided that it was for the best to put him to sleep! It was heart breaking for them all and all of us who had hope for the best!
      My thought is he had more of a wonderful life than most goats had, and those days on earth were made possible and special by these guys! And little foot left a huge print despite his being so small!

    I was a goat rescuer when i was young with my husband. I never saw a goat baby so tiny! I saved one day a very tiny little cow who was the result of an abortion: she stayed very little but was very playful, liked football and lived 8 years! I also rescued until last year disabled guinea pigs from bad breeding with silk fetal syndrome, born without eyes, teeth underdeveloped babies or with deformed paws. They didn’t live very long but i did my best to give them a very spoiled life and they were so grateful and closed to me. They all died in my arms, with love and cuddles. Now i am bedridden in palliative care at my daughter’s house and we still rescue feral stray cats for northern Quebec by the sea, when winters last six months with -30 to -45 Celsius. Life is very harsh for feral cats and we teach them to stay in a home, to learn how to drink in a bowl and play with toys. They are very loving and snugly. We can’t live without animals around us and we are happy to save their lives, one at the time and show them love forever.

    What an adorable baby. We had goats a long time ago when we lived in Colorado. When the does were having their babies, the kids(human kids), couldn’t wait to see if any of our mama’s had given birth. I could hardly get them on the bus! It is just amazing that that little guy lived. He must be a dwarf. It looks like you’ve got a family pet! We had a little one , we named him popcorn. That little thing would chase the kids all over the house. He went with us just about everywhere. He ended up being a service animal, and would go to hospitals that were close by. We potty trained him and everything. He was the sweetest little thing ever. Sorry this is so long; it just brought up such sweet memories. I’m definitely going to be a subscriber!

      That is so small! How did you do it! I feel like we have had a lot of luck so far. We definitely know what we’re doing, but the margin for error is so small. How long did she take to get to full size?

    • @fairydogmother2752
      @fairydogmother2752 2 года назад +3

      I'm sure it's not good practice to breed from the runt such as this and risk passing down problems, defects, generally bad genetics that may compromise quality of life. Not to mention risk also of dying from complications after kidding. Generally not a good idea if you can avoid that.

    • @allypad64
      @allypad64 2 года назад +4

      @@fairydogmother2752 😳🙄🙄. Being the runt of a litter is NOT always a genetic defect - in fact more often than not, genetics didn’t play a role in it. Good grief - always people coming on here saying what someone should have done or what someone shouldn’t have done. Live your life and mind your own business about what someone else is doing/has done.

    • @zenquartz3537
      @zenquartz3537 2 года назад +2

      When it comes to the welfare of animals, it's absolutely necessary for other to intervene. "Genetics had nothing to do with it" you know this how? Did you get her tested? Even if genetics didn't cause it, she's still not good to breed from. Full sized babies could literally rip her apart. You obviously don't know the first thing about biology let alone genetics.

    I had one just as small maybe smaller. She survived well and grew into a super tiny adult. I kept her in the house in a shoe box lined with a towel, fed her with a 10cc syringe for the first days, then we went to a bottle. She was one of triplets so I milked her mom for bottle feeding. I kept her in the house for months before I allowed her out. When it was warm enough she integrated into the herd. She and I were both SO LUCKY, my insurance agent was looking for a goat for her father. Seems he had a pet goat when he was a youngster and wanted one as a companion. Frosty (she was so COLD when I found her in the morning after she was born)went on to quite a life. Her new owner trained her to ride with him on his Ranger and she lived right by the house in a pen with a little house he built. I had been worried what would happen because she was far too small to ever be bred... She was safe and happy all turned out well. Good luck with your boy.

    I fostered and bottlefed a kitten who was the size of a one week old at three weeks. I was so nervous that I'd lose her but she pulled through with some TLC. I'm not going to lie... it was a ton of work and I've never been so sleep deprived in my life. 100% worth it. She and her brother got adopted out to an excellent home as a bonded pair, which was exactly the happy ending I hoped for.

    Great to know he's thriving ... he wasn't premature, but just small ... when mammals are born and start breathing/using their lungs, the lungs stop developing as rapidly as they would in the womb, and is usually the problem with pre-mature's ... glad to see he's loving life

    • @partyinthecloudkingdom

      he was probably so small because they were triplets, instead of twins or a singlet which is typical of goats. with triplets, theres almost always one thats smaller or fails to thrive

    What a strong little guy! So tiny and yet he was standing on his own pretty quick, squalling just like the rest of the kids ❤️ I always believed the moment you hear a baby cry is the moment it truly comes alive. He may be small, but he is most definitely alive and not afraid to let the world know!
