Please start now volunteering.....And also do your research and learn what Delta is all about. Delta for 31 years.....Plus assisted my Daughter to make the line, but it got cut. Delta does not automatically bring a person on because they are a legacy.

What advice would you give someone who is wanting to join a sorority, but they are nervous and shy ? I always head to put your self out there but it’s not so easy to reach out to others who are held at a certain position.
Hi honey! I would say try your very best to put yourself out there! It doesn't have to be extreme, it can be as simple as an "I see you are working with xxx company, how is that going for you?", or "I saw you recently traveled to xxx, how was that?" In life, especially in professional spaces you have to take the risk of speaking up, whether that means asking questions in front of a large group setting, or presenting information to business stakeholders. I struggled with public speaking and putting myself out there in college as well, but the more you do it the easier it gets, and the more confident you become! Although it can be challenging, speaking up/out is extremely beneficial. Practice makes perfect! Keep trying, Let me know how you make out!

In college
You have to finish at least a school year I believe
First, find out if the college/University you are attending has Delta's active on campus. If they do, go to all the events they hold, interact with the current chapter members, and make a name for yourself/stand out genuinely.
At my College we had to wait until our Sophmore Year.
Do you have to already have experience in dancing or stepping?
No not at all. It’s more so about aligned values/morals and what you can bring to the chapter.

You can be any age (as long as your a college student for undergrad) the also have grad chapters for people who have already graduated from college

I have a strong Baltimore accent I can’t help it😂 but for transfer students I would say the advice is pretty much the same, maybe just try to put yourself out there a little more. Hey! UMD, where I crossed is a PWI. There are a lot of PWI's that have D9 (Divine 9) on campus. If your school doesn't have the exact sorority you are interested in you can always join an alumni chapter after graduation.
