Lol gotta save this one for the quotes I’ll never remember to use, but strongly wish I did. (While claiming I came up with it right there on the spot for good measure).
As an older person, probably the oldest person watching your videos, I used to be more impulsive with shopping. Then I did the great purge and got my closet, couple of closets, down to 81 pieces of clothing and now I’m all about replacing. I’m all about the mix and the match, for which I would call myself minimalist adjacent.
The mask and fit looks fan-fuckin-tastic but then imagining you just shopping or whatever in it is wild. It's really the sort of thing you wear as a performer or for artistic endeavors. That's sort of all you can use it for and not look silly.
i don’t know what’s more embarrassing you wanted rick owens boots or the fact that you were trying to look like SpongeBob when he got squeaky boots with boots all the way up the the thighs.
I have not a single friend who understands my fashion obsession and your videos make me feel like I have that fashion friend I always wanted. Bit depressing BUT I love your content and personality, thanks for all you do!
always happy to see the frugal take on aesthetic Easy trap to fall into for sure. Past a certain price point I'm REALLY looking at whether I'm gonna use a thing or not, burned myself a few too many times.
isn't it just our fear to be different, our fear to gain balls ? my friend made me an extravagant piece of cloth, hoodie, I look in it like a crow, ready to visit dark forests in Japan. I didnt feel comfortable first hour wearing it, but after like one day, it somehow sticked to me, even after the mixed looks that I receive on it from people.

i don’t go shopping for clothes often, went out the other day and a store near me was closing down, all clothes were very cute and were 80-90 % off, i scored that day, that was my story, thank you everyone.
making the 20% of the venn diagram be the color of the ramune sweater and raised online logo so we subconsciously relate the best part of our wardrobe back to that and make us want to buy it is crazy work
This is why I love DIY alt fashion because I have the last 2 in spades wardrobe: I make my own clothes they can be cheap and made from anything, ballz: I love the way I look more than I care what other people think, and for lifestyle when I have a restrictive job I just tone it down there and change on the way out the door(what can they say I'm not on the clock?) Also the 80% gets cut up and added to the 20% like a pair of jeans I never wear = patch material, a cute plaid skirt I grew out of is now one of my pant legs, and I even turned a pair of jeans into a vest I wear all the time.
I thing a good message was asking if you're vulnerable at the moment why are you buying something and yeah retail therapy is definitely something that gets me a lot of the time then I regret it later lol
This video makes me feel better about myself because it makes me feel vindicated and secure in my belief that I have a very healthy, grounded sense of fashion, and that I can trust myself to know what works on me and what fits my lifestyle and the occasions which I would most frequently find myself in

I save all my money to buy designer or custom pieces because at least I know who made them and I can actually support designers that actually have amazing pieces that they make themselves and there’s a sense of pride in wearing something like that.
Also I rather “waste” my money on PIECES I actually like and virtually go with any outfit because it’s quality pieces usually last a long long time meanwhile ur store brand clothing is all recycled garbage

Love the RO sweatshirt - I ordered it when it dropped and it’s been perfect weather for every day wear. Super nice fabric and great cut. Super happy, your clothes are legit.
I got this super expensive hand made Maison Margiela Sailor knot sweater, all white, and its so nice that I've never worn it in the 10 years I've had it. I love the idea of bringing it out around Christmas time but it just sits locked away in my closet because I know the second I put it on I'm going to spill a drink on it.
It’s April fools day, I just got home from an unplanned shopping trip and immediately gaslit myself watching this 😅😂 10/10.. This content is the ultimate embodiment of irony to me, on both personal and parasocial levels. Plus the 80/20-effort square space ad took me out at the end 😂😂❤
I wear yohji everywhere as a uni student in q small city. It just fits me. The issue is you need a wardrobe catered around it if you want to look good.
I think the real trick is only owning the 20 percent and not even owning anything else. You can literally live on one pair of non-work jeans, three hoodies of which you mainly wear one and interchangeable basic t shirts. That is all you actually need and the rest is purely functional like gym stuff, sweatpants and workwear for whatever it is you do for work. Also, you should wear stuff for like a decade so that you vintage it yourself like never replace your Carharrt jacket even after 7 or 8 years
ABSOLUTELY - the first things in this video have summed up my discontent with recent fashion content entirely. It’s *totally* okay to enjoy and/or participate in some trends, but not *every* one. Every outfit does not need to be an overt attempt at signaling, being a billboard or advertisement. People are too caught up in “costuming” eg; wearing the most recognizable things to signal knowledge of them but not actually participating in or appreciating the designer or subculture whom it was created for or in. I’m not saying we should run around and say to everyone “you don’t even know that band on your shirt!” but it shouldn’t be so damn clear that everyone is dressing from the same TikToks and Pinterest searches. Hell, even Wisdm…is doing “most expensive outfit” videos…it’s stale, man.

The whole fashion industry is selling you an image of cool that you can never be. Thats how it works.
