Shane is absolutely right that strawberry rhubarb pie is superior to strawberry pie and rhubarb pie. Just strawberry is fine, just rhubarb is too tart, but the two together is perfect.
I love rhubarb in any form but don't really like strawberry, but I agree, the strawberry/rhubarb combo is so nice! It brings out such a lovely almost cream-like taste in the strawberries, it's delicious.

the red dead redemption 2 choices really hit considering many of the game's missions and story, of violence, sadness, fear and yearning for change, where cooking big game meat or drinking coffee at the camp is extremely calming and centers you, which we now long for too.

As someone who grew up and still lives in downstate Illinois I can confirm that Shane’s lists are usually pretty midwestern in flavor and I usually agree with all his choices. Especially the strawberry rhubarb pie! Yum!

im a rhubarb head, one time my mom made this rhubarb crisp type of dessert and it was so good. rhubarb is very tart on it’s own, which is why you generally see it combined with sweet strawberries. it can be on it’s own when there’s a lot of the crust or crumble or cookie type thing it’s with

When I was a kid I had a PC game called 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue and throughout the game, you can collect bones. There were a hundred in each level, and while I logically know that just a plain white bone would be gross, but every time you collected one the puppy would just make this delicious monching sound, it just tickles the brain in such a pleasing way. Been chasing that feeling ever since, man.

Chiming off and firstly I've got to say fantastic episode, I respect all the lists - some top quality video game foods, it cannot be denied. But I do think that Shane remains firmly the People's Lister, I mean Cake, Hotdog, Ghosts, Mac + Cheese, Coffee is iconic and also my ideal menu. I was nearly swayed by Strawberry Pie and Marshmallow but those are celebration foods - Shane remains the voice of the common folk 🙏
