Raccoon babies in the bird house

How many fit in there? Full house - they are having fun and feeding on sunflower seeds. Two are climbing down and running away with mom. Another one following later. (sounds at 1:17 min). Number 4 and 5 are still up while another female is looking for seeds on the ground. After a while they seem to miss mom (vocalizing at 3:17 min) and leave. That's the chance for the female to go up as well and feed, before having a drink at the bird bath. June 2024.

Es sind sicher keine unproblematischen Tiere. Wir zumindest können nach vielen jahren direkter Nachbarschaft nicht Negatives berichten. Eine aktuelle Studie, die die Nahrungsgewohnheiten der Waschbären über längere Zeit untersucht hat, belegt zudem, dass die Gefährdung seltener Arten und die Anzahl der Plünderungen von Vogelnestern durch Waschbären bislang deutlich überschätzt wurden.
